Darla J. Wendt, of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at her home under the care of her family and Niagara Hospice. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on January 24, 1940, the daughter of the late Richard and Julia [Andrews] Wackett.
Darla was a custodian at Niagara County Community College for several years, before becoming the head custodian at Niagara Orleans BOCES in Sanborn, from 1977 until her retirement in 2004.She was a member of the Sanborn Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Darla loved spending time with her family, enjoyed gardening, going to the casino and bowling.
She was the wife of the late William B. Wendt, Jr., who died in January of 2004.
Darla is survived by two daughters Tammy (Kevin) Payne and Laura Lee (Rob) Elstrodt, a son Richard (Marie) Wendt, her daughter in law Clara Wendt, eight grandchildren Nicole, Kevin M., Jaimie, Kelly Ann, Zachary, Cody, Dakota and Derek, her dear friend Daniel Brimmer and a sister in law Lori Wackett, she is also survived by five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Randy Wendt and sister of the late Edward Wackett and Elaine ( Harold) Zimmerman.
Her family will be present on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Tuesday from 10-11 AM, at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM.
Memorials may be made in her name to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
Interment in Mt. View Cemetery, Town of Cambria, NY.

Paul's Lutheran Church, North Tonawanda, for the marri-
age of Miss Darla Jane Wackett to William B. Wendt,
Feb. 15, 1958.
The Rev. Theodore Rehkop united the daughter
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wackett, Ferry Ave., and the son
of Mr. and Mrs. William Wendt, Sanborn, in a double ring
ceremony.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a floor length
gown of chantilly lace
and tulle with a fitted bodice
and a bouffant skirt. Her scalloped
veil of double illusion was
held by a queen's crown of sequins
and pearls. Her bouquet
was a cascade of white carnations
and ivy.

and white carnations.
The bridesmaids were the

Miss Murphy wore a
waltz-length gown of aqua or-,
ganza with a cascade bouquet of
matching aqua and white
carnations. Miss Wendt wore a
similar dress of yellow organza
with a bouquet of yellow and
white carnations.

flower girl, wore a dress of
"yellow taffeta and carried a
basket of carnations.
. Kenneth Wendt ^as best man
for his brother. The ushers were
Edward Wackett, brother of the
bride, and Forrest Wendt, another
brother of tihe bridegroom,
Lanny Wendt was the ring
bearer.
. For the reception at the Sanborn
Fire Hall, the mother of
the bride wore a navy blue
dress with pink accessories and
the bridegroom's mother selected
a black and pink frock.
After a motor trip, the couple
will be at home at 1447 Ferry
Ave.
