    TURIN - An open House party to celebrate Frances Evans' 90th birthday was held Saturday. July 3, at the Turin Firehouse. hosted by her family.

    Approximately 300 people came and deluged Fran with happy birthday wishes. Just about every relative came from between' the west coast and east coast

    Frances was born on April 27, 1914. the fourth of five children born to Marian and Harry Schwenk. George and Henry Schwenk owned the Schwenk Brothers HoteL Constableville, which is now known as Hotel Parquet Her siblings. Helen. Mildred and Margaret are all deceased. Her baby sister Loretta Hayes
    resides on High Street in Constableville.

    The Schwenks left the hotel In 1921 after Henry passed away. Marian and children: moved to a small farm on Route 26 in Constableville, just north 0/where Qutk *N. E-Z is today. Back in those days their house was known to one and afl as 'Mount Mortah.'
    In 1932. Frances married Charles' Evans {deceased in 1998) and they had five children: Charles (Sonny) Evans (deceased); Marilyn Morrow of Keystone Heights. Beverly Myers. Stanley Evans. Port .Leyden; and Aleatha Cook of Festus. MO. Frances also still considers Terry (and George) Cataldo of Glenfield part of her family. Frances has 27 grandchildren 24 great-grandchildren and two great-greats, along with several step-grandchildren.

    In her younger years. Fran worked as a cashier in the South Lewis School System as wefl as Snow Ridge Ski Resort She has been a resident of the West Road in Turin since her marriage to Charlie, and remembers when Constablevllle was a bustling little town with two blacksmiths, three grocery stores, a notions store, two hardware stores, a drug store, a steam mill, three churches, a taxi service, one school, and yes. three saloons' besides thefr hotel:

    Frances has always been active and has many friends. She was a longtime' bowler, still loves to play cards, and is a great fan of baseball on television-. She crochets and knits —and has made ah afghan for each and every grandchild that comes along. She likes to travel and still gets to see fter family and out-of-state childreri -as often as possible. Frari is always fun to be around. She loves a party and thoroughly enjoyed this one —celebrating her 90th birthday and spending tune with everyone*

    CONSTABLEVILLE - Mrs.
    Marion Edith Schwenk, 76. widow
    of Henry W. Schwenk, died
    Feb. 6, 1957, at the Lewis County
    Hospital, Lowville. She had
    been in ill health since last June
    and seriously ill since September.
    She was born April 18, 1881
    in Town of West Turia, daugh-
    ter of Thomas and Elizabeth
    Davis Wynn. She was educated
    at the Constableville Union Free
    School. She was married to
    Henry W. Schwenk on Jan. 11,
    1905, in this village. He died
    April 21, 1921.
    The couple lived at the
    Schwenk Brothers Hotel (now
    the Hotel Parquet) here, which
    they operated until 1821.
    She was a life resident of the
    Constableville vicinity and was
    a member of St. Paul's Episco-
    pal Church, its Women's Aux-
    iliary, and St. Agnes Guild. She
    was a long-time member of the
    local Home Demonstration Unit.
    Mrs. Schwenk served as
    treasurer of the Constableville
    Central School for the past 36
    years.
    Surviving are five daughters,
    Mrs. Henry Taylor of Constable-
    ville, Mrs. Sidney Johnson of
    Sauquoit, Mrs. Leo Northam of
    Constanbleville; 13 grandchildren;
    one great-grandchild; one sister,
    mrs. Dorothy Ainsworth of Con-
    stableville; two sisters-in-law.
    The body is at the home of
    her daughter, Mrs. Henry Tay-
    lor, this village, where friends
    may call at their convenience.

    Thomas Wynn aged 84 years died in
    the Rome City Hospital Monday even

    ing about 7 o'clock. Mr. Wynn. had not
    been in his usual health for some time
    but did his own farm work raised
    calves artd sheep. When he became
    unable to attend to his work a few
    days ago a physician was called and
    Monday morning he was taken to the
    hospital for treatment All that doctors
    and nurses could do was done but
    he failed rapidly until the end came.
    Mr. Wynn was born in this country
    February 3, 1865. On December 17,
    1879 he married Miss Elizabeth Davis
    who passed away February 23, 1922.
    He was a farmer by occupation and
    re elded on his farm near this village
    He attended the Methodist church. He
    is survived by two daughters Mrs.
    Marion Schwenk of this village, Mrs.
    Dorothy Ainsworth of Syracuse, one
    son Richard Wynn of Constableville
    a daughter Mrs. Ruth Lewis passed
    away on February 14. He also
    leaves one'brother John Wynn of Consta
    bleville seven grand children, eight
    great grandchildren and one adopted
    grand son. Funeral arrangement have
    not been completed.

    Mrs. Mary Wynn passed away at
    the home of her son, Thomas Wynn,
    Thursday morning, May 13.. Mrs
    Wynn was the daughter of Mr. and
    Mrs. Evan Pritchard. She was born
    in Carnarvon Shire, North Wales,
    June 27, 1828, and came to this. country
    in 1850, and took up her residence
    In West Turin, where nearly all her
    life has been spent. March 10, 1854
    she was united in marriage to William
    Wynn, of Leyden, by the Rev
    Erastus S. Barnes, at Boonville. Mrs
    Wynn was a very actlve^woman of
    her years, until three months ago
    when she had the misfortune to fall
    and fracture her hip. Since then she
    had been confined to her bed most
    of the time. Mrs. Wynn was a mem
    her of the Welsh Calvlnistic church
    in Constableville, but which has been
    closed for a number of years. When
    meetings were held in this place of
    worship, she was one of the many
    members who possessed a fine voice
    and always joined in the congrega
    tional singing, which the Welsh people
    so greatly enjoy. During her ill
    ness she was tenderly cared for by
    Mrs. Thomas Wynn. Mrs. Wynn was
    the mother of three children; one
    daughter died when young. There now
    survive two sons, Thomas and John
    Wynn, both of Constableville; also
    four grandchildren and four great
    grandchildren. Mrs. Wynn had a large
    circle of friends and was held in high
    esteem. In her death Constableville
    loses one of its oldest residents. The
    funeral was attended by many friends
    at the home of her son, Thomas
    Wynn, Saturday at 2 p. m., Rev. G.
    Holyoake, of the M. E. church, offi
    ciating. Interment was made in
    Constableville cemetery.
