    George L. Weidert, 79, of Ransomville, NY, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2007 at his home, with his loving children and family, while under care of Niagara Hospice, after a short illness. He was born in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY on August 15, 1928, the son of George and Frances (Theis) Weidert, where he attended local schools and was a graduate of Trott High School. George was employed as a steel fabricator for Industrial Welding Corporation for over 25 years. He later had worked on the construction of the Somerset Power Plant and then was employed by the Smith Bros. Construction Company for several years, prior to his retirement. George was always helping others, repairing everything imaginable. As a volunteer for Opportunities Unlimited, he built bowling ramps for the handicapped bowlers. He enjoyed hunting, camping and playing cards, especially with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church, Pekin, Niagara County, NY and an Exempt Member of the Sanborn Volunteer Fire Company. George was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, the former Jane E. Smith on May 27, 2006 and a son, John D. Weidert on November 30, 1993. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Jane (Robert) Smith of Ransomville, Susan A. (Dennis) Mielke of Sanborn; a son, George R. (Bonnie) Weidert of Ransomville; grandchildren, Kerri, Jason, R.J., Tracy, Derek, Karen, Sarah and Nicholas; brother, William Weidert of Niagara Falls; sister, Eleanor Murphy of Michigan; also survived by two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will be present on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, Sanborn, 5893 Hoover Road, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM, followed by services at Hope United Methodist Church, Sanborn, NY at 11 AM, with Rev. Janet Hubbard officiating. The Sanborn Volunteer Fire Company will hold a memorial service Tuesday at 8:00 PM. Interment in Mount View Cemetery, Town of Cambria, NY.     Jane E. Weidert, 75, of Ransomville, NY, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, and her pet dog, Abby, while under care of Niagara Hospice, on Saturday May 27, 2006.
    Mrs. Weidert was born in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, on April 2, 1931, the daughter of Russell and Kathleen [ Gruber ] Smith. She was a graduate of the Wilson High School, in the Class of 1949. She had worked in the health care profession, and had been employed at the former Ransomville Hospital as a ward clerk; at Mt. View Health Facility as nursing assistant; the former Niagara county Infirmary and for Staff Builders as a home health care aide.
    She was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church, Pekin, Niagara County, NY and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Sanborn Fire Company.
    Jane made dolls and had a doll collection. She enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, horse back riding, and being with friends and family.
    Surviving is her husband of 56 years, George L. Weidert, two daughters, Mary Jane [ Robert ] Smith of Ransomville; Susan A. [ Dennis ] Mielke, of Sanborn; a son, George R. [ Bonnie ] Wediert, of Ransomville, two sisters, Twin sister, Jean [ Glenn ] Wendt, of Sanborn; Diane [ John ] Lunney, of Lafargeville, NY; grandchildren; Kerri; Jason; R. J.; Tracy; Derek; Karen; Sarah and Nicholas, also survived by 2 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son John D. Weidert, who died November 30, 1993.
    The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, SANBORN,5893 Hoover Road, Monday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM and Tuesday 9 - 10:15 AM, where a prayer service will be held Tuesday at 10:15 followed by Funeral services at Hope United Methodist Church, 2914 Upper Mountain Road, Sanborn, NY. at 11 AM. Interment at Mount View Cemetery Town of Cambria, NY.
    Should friends desire memorials may be made in Jane's memory to the Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, Niagara County, NY 14094.

    shower at the home of Mrs. Martin
    Cindrich, Town Line road.
    Last evening Miss Smith was the
    guest of honor at a variety shower
    at the home of Helen Ward, Lockport.

    PEKIN, Sept 9 - Miss Jane Smith,
    daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell
    Smith, Town Line road, became the
    bride of Mr. George Weidert,
    Sr., Niagara Falls, at a double ring
    ceremony at the Pekin Methodist
    church on August 26 at 4 o'clock.
    The Rev. Peter Van Duren offi-
    ciated.
    Mrs. Clarence Baker presided at the
    organ and Janet Thomas I'Leary
    sang, "Because," "I Love You Truly,"
    and "The Lord's Prayer."
    The church was beautifully dec-
    orated with gladoli and ferns.
    The bride, given in marriage by
    her father, was lovely in a gown of
    French lace over satin, long train,
    nieh neckline, long sleeves and fit-
    ted bodice. Her fingertip illusion
    veil, edged with French lace, fell
    from a halo of satin, bonnet effect.
    Her bouquet was of white gladioli,
    centered with white rose buds and
    an orchid. The bridegroom's gift to
    the bride was a rhinestone necklace
    with bracelet and earrings to match.
    Mrs. Glenn Wendt, was chosen by
    her twin sister to be matron of hon-
    or. Her gown was of orchid taffeta
    and marquisette.
    She wore a lace picture hat to
    match. Her bouquet was of yellow
    gladoli centered with orchid rose
    buds.
    The bridesmaids, Eleanor Weidert,
    Mildred Dooley, Norma Smith and
    Marjorie Cronk, were gowned alike
    in yellow taffeta and marquisette
    with lace picture hats. They car-
    ried bouquets of orchid gladoli cen-
    tered with yellow rose buds.
    The groom chose Glenn Wendt as
    best man and the ushers were James
    Lewis, Jack Dooley, donald Smith
    and Gordon Smith.
    The bride's mother wore a wint
    colored suit with black accessories
    and orchid corsage. A green suit
    and black accessories was chosen by
    the bridegroom's mother. Her cor-
    sage was also an orchid.
    For her wedding trip to the Adi-
    rondack mountains and Vermont, the
    bride wore a brown gabardine suit,
    white accessories, snake skin shoes
    and purse and an orchid corsage.
    A reception for 350 guests was
    held at the home of the bride's par-
    ents.
    Mr. and Mrs. Weidert are making
    their home with the bride's parents.

    George L. Weidert, 64, of
    2497 Michigan Ave., and the
    long-time proprietor of the
    Weidert Automobile Collision
    Shop, died Sunday (June 11,
    1961) in Memorial Hospital
    after an illness Of several
    years.
    Mr. Weidert was born in
    Kane, Pa., and had resided in
    Niagara Falls since 1916. Having
    run the auto collision shop
    for 35 years, he retired in
    1952 due to ill health. Since
    his retirement he spent the
    winters in Florida, and divided
    his residency between
    Kane and Niagara Falls
    He is survived by his wife,
    Frances; a daughter, Mrs.
    Francis (Eleanor) M u r p h y,
    and a son William D. Weidert,
    all of this city, another son,
    George L. Weidert Jr. of Ransomville,
    and 10 grandchildren.
    He is also survived by three
    half-brothers, Francis W. and
    Leo A. Davis, both of this
    city,. Jerome B. Davis -of the
    USAF in New York City, and
    a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Johnson,
    of Endicott,
    Funeral services will be
    held Wednesday at 9:15 a.m.
    at the Otto Redanz Funeral
    Home, and 9:45.a.m. at Sacred
    Heart Church. Burial will be
    in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
