Notes:

According to Dr. Kiess' book, this family was extremely poor. They lived in the community poorhouse and then finally the community dug up the money to send this couple and seven of their children and Gottlieb's one sister to America in 1852. The birth entry of son J. Heinrich b. 1843 does state that he "in 1852 ausgewandert ist." The oldest son Conrad stayed in Mundingen, but the village had to provide lodging and food for him - still.

Right after this family left, Konrad Schwenk (b 1805) petitioned Mundingen town council to live in the poor house, and this was granted to him.

All these Späth children were our distant blood kin.
