Lucille P. Wittkop, age 87 of Niagara Falls, New York, was called to her heavenly home on April 20, 2017, while at the Northgate Health Care Facility, after a brief illness. Born in North Tonawanda, New York, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Pauline (Jaeneske) Sahr. Lucille was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Bergholz. She was employed for many years at Remington Rand, and later at Hutchins Automotive, as a secretary.
Survivors include her son, Daniel (Cindy) Wittkop; a sister, June (Alfred) Henneberger; and several nieces and nephews. Lucille was predeceased by her husband, Ralph H. Wittkop, on October 9, 1991; and several brothers and sisters.
Services will be private, without visitation. Interment will be in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield, New York. Arrangements are with the DuBois Funeral Home.

church, she is survived by her husband,

Jaenecke John G., was born in Martinsville, June 5, 1856, and has lived in this place all his life. He was a farmer until thirty years of age, when he engaged in the hotel business and conducts one of the largest hostelries in the county. October 27, 1881, he married Bertha Ziehi and they have three children: Wilhelmine, Benjamin and Pauline. Mr. Jaenecke is a fireman and has been a trustee and president of the company; be is also a trustee of the German Lutheran church and is a Republican in politics. He rebuilt his hotel in 1896, and is a genial and popular man. His parents were Charles F. and Annie (Schwartzenholz) Jaenecke, natives of Germany. Charles F. Jaenecke came to America in 1845 and was a blacksmith and farmer; he died in 1892 and his wife in 1893. Mrs. Jaenecke's parents were Charles and Mary (Reck) Ziehl.

Old Resident Dead, Carl Ziehl of Martinsville Passed Away Yesterday - Leaves Large Family.
Carl Ziehl, aged 72 years, an old resident of the town of Pendleton died yesterday morning at his home near Martinsville. Besides his wife, Maria, he leaves five daughters, Mrs. Frederick Wurl, Mrs. William Hartwig, Mrs. G. Fleischman, Mrs. John Jaenecke, and Mrs. C. F. Goerss of this city; and five sons, John, Charles, Ferdinand, Gustav and William. Fourty-four grand children and one great grandchild survive. The deceased came to Niagara County 50 years ago and by occupation has always been a farmer. He enjoyed the respect and esteem of all who knew him. The funeral will be held from the late residence at 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.
