    NORTH TONAWANDA, Dec. 17—Carl Mellenthien. 84 years old,died yesterday at his home, 480 Schenk street.. Born In Germany, he had lived In North Tonawanda fifteen years. Mr. Mellenthien is survived by his wife, Mary Wilke Mellenthien; two sons, Alvin, Clarence and Henry, of Buffalo ten grandchildren, a brother. William Hannemann, Newfane, and three sisters, Mrs. Alvlna Sehendel. Mrs Augusta Bach and Mrs. Minnie Bemdt, all of North Tonawanda. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 30 o'clock at the home. The Rev. Carl Frankenstein, pastor of St Matthews Church, will conduct the services and burial will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery.

    Mrs. Helen Mellenthien, (nee Meyers) beloved wife of Charles Mellenthien of Harris Hill, passed to rest on Monday evening, Aug. 27, 1917, at the age of 55 years. Besides her husband she leaves to sorrow for her two sons, Alvin and Henry Mellenthien, one sister and five brothers, Mrs. Jacob Keirn and Louis Meyers of Buffalo, Gustave, Theodore and George Meyers of Tonawanda and Charles Meyers of Franklinville. The sympathy of many friends is extended to them.
    The funeral services were held today from the family residence at 2 o'clock, Rev. Mueller of Buffalo officiating. Burial in Sawyer Creek cemetery, Niagara County.
