TOWN OF WHEATFIELD - Francis H. Proefrock, age 89, of Tonawanda, died Monday, December 20, 2010 at Crestwood Nursing Home, after a long illness. Born in Tonawanda, he was the son of the late Henry and Myra (nee Sturmer) Proefrock and was an Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII. A lifelong resident of Tonawanda, Mr. Proefrock worked as a truck driver for Lawless Container Co. in North Tonawanda until retiring in 1988, and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, the B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 860 in North Tonawanda, and the American Legion, Tonawandas Post No. 264. He was the husband of the late Sally (nee Nowak) Proefrock, who died in 1987, and Jane (Betz) Proefrock, who died in 2009.

He is survived by his son, Ronald (Carole) Proefrock; and five daughters, Sharon Razzani, Barbara (Boyd) Ritchie, Joy (Michael) Bastine, Jacqueline (Neil) McGinty and Nancy (Robert) Pieper. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 4-8 PM today only (Tuesday) at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM on Wednesday at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 150 Broad Street at Clinton Park in Tonawanda. Friends invited. Interment with Military Honors at White Chapel Memorial Park. If desired, memorials to the S.P.C.A. are preferred by the family.

Proefrock - Sally (nee Nowak) Proefrock, 64, of North Tonawanda, Monday, (June 19, 1987) after a long illness.

She is survived by her husband, Frankcis H. Proefrock; five daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Sharon) Razzani, Mrs. Barbara Starr, Mrs. Michael (Joy) Bastline, Mrs. John (Jacqueline) Jankowski and Nancy Proefrock; two brothers, Frank and Joseph Nowak; two sisters, Mrs. Stella Nowaczyk and Mrs. Peter (Josephine) Mazur; also surviving are seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 7-9 p..m. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 Tuesday at the Hamp Funeral Home Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at a time to be announced. Interment at White Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to the American Cancer Society are preferred by the family.

Henry W. Proefrock, 59, died this morning in the Niagara County sanitarium.
Born in the town of Wheatfield he had resided in this vicinity all his life.
He leaves his wife, Myra M., nee Stermer; three sons, Duane and Francis of
Tonawanda and Pvt. H. Warren Proefrock of Camp McCain, Miss.; a daughter,
Mrs. Raymond Schmidt of Tonawanda; six grandchildren, five brothers, Fred of
Alexander, N.Y., William, Edward and Arnold of North Tonawanda and Walter of
North Ridge, and three sisters, Mrs. Emma Mills, Mrs. Edward Manth and Mrs.
Edwin Frech of North Tonawanda. Rites will be held Thursday afternoon at
2:30 o'clock from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Schmidt, 39 Virginia
street.

PROEFROCK - Myra M. Proefrock, 93, of North Tonawanda, N.Y., Sunday (March 1, 1981) after a long illness. A lifelong resident of the Tonawnadas, she was the wife of the late Henry W. Proefrock. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Geraldine) Schmidt of Tonawanda, and three sons, Duane (Mary) Proefrock of Tonawanda, H. Warren (Joe) (Gertrude) Proefrock and Francis (Sally) Proefrock, both of North Tonawanda, also surviving are fifteen grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. The family will be present from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Sts., Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Sergius. O.S.B., officiating. Interment in White Chapel Cemetery.

Y.; four daughters, Mrs. Emma Kolbe, Mrs. Edward Manth, Mrs. Walter Wilke and Mrs. Edwin Freck, North Tonawanda; 31 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Gustav Schendel, Town of Wheatfield. Services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the residence and at 4 o'clock from the St. Matthew's church on Wheatfield street. Rev. Carl Frankenstein will officiate and burial will be in St. Matthew's cemetery.
