September 24, 2013 Jean Grant Kley Anonymous The Tonawanda News The Tonawanda News Tue Sep 24, 2013, 01:18 PM EDT LOCKPORT — Jean (nee Cross) Grant Kley, of Lockport, NY, passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness, on September 20, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Albert "Al" W. Kley, Jr.; predeceased by her parents, Eva (nee Killenbeck) Eberwein and William Cross; siblings, Hazel Stallman, Robert Cross (late Lee); and sister-in-law, Lisalotte Proefrock (Jerome Roberts). Loving mom of Robin Jaeger (late Karl), Robert James Grant, Jr. (deceased), Rebecca Bruce (Joseph), Rochelle Lanese (Ettore), Roxanne Lopour, Russell Grant (Nutcha) and Noreen Ackley (Keith). Cherished Grandma to Raquel, Lacey, Caroline, Mario, Alexa, Joshua, Jacqueline, Amy Jean, Lisa (Vince), Arin, Anthony (Carolyn) and Casey; also Ian, Taylor, Jaimie, Corey (Cheryl), Adam (Jennifer), Callie, Travis, and Kyle. Proud Great-Grandma of 10. Long-time dear friend to Shirley and Moe Briggs. She will also be missed by Robert (Mary), George, and William Grant; plus several nieces and nephews. Jean attended Brockport Central High School, Class of 1947, was Secretary at the Salem United Church of Christ in Tonawanda, NY, and also worked as a Nurse's Aide at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Democratic Club, The Marblettes, Tonawanda Garden Club and, in later years, Queen of the Tonawanda Chapter of the Red Hat Society. Jean's artistic abilities and love of music, travel, gardening, baking, fashion, animals, children and reading will continue to live on in the passions and pursuits of the family she has inspired throughout her 85 years. Special thanks to Niagara Hospice, Noreen, Casey and Keith, for providing daily care so Jean could spend her last days surrounded with love and comfort at home with her furry companion, Libby. We will sadly miss our spirited and humorous matriarch whose infectious laughter, genuine enthusiasm and charismatic deportment charmed all who were fortunate enough to spend time with her. At the request of Jean, there will be no prior visitation or memorial service.
