Edith Louise Krell, 98, of 90th Street, died Monday, August 10, 2009 in Northgate Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Krell was born June 1, 1911 in Niagara Falls, the oldest of 10 children of Franklin and Lydia (Strasburg) Phillips. She graduated from Niagara Falls High School in the Class of 1929.She was employed as a bookkeeper at Alox Corp. for more than 30 years. She was an 80 year member of Bacon Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she served for many years as a deacon and a liaison at the Presbyterian Home in Lockport. She liked being at her cottage in Canada.She married her husband Charles L. Krell on June 23, 1934. He predeceased her on May 8, 1984. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Bernard) Logar of Niagara Falls; five grandchildren, Steven (Rebecca) Logar, Michael (Carrie) Logar, James Magliocca, Christopher (Erica) Magliocca and Lynn (Jamie) Pasek; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marion (Robert) Arnold and Betty (James) Robbins; a brother, Franklin (Sue) Phillips and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Suzanne (James) Magliocca and sister of the late Jeanette (Paul) McAlee, Lillian (Timothy) Moriarty, Dorothy (Ernest) Kreutinger, Grace Sabin, David (Marion) Phillips and Edgar (Ruth) Phillips.The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM Monday in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 AM. Rev. Dr. Robert W. Peck will officiate. Interment will be in N.F. Memorial Park Cemetery, Town of Lewiston. Krell-Phillips
A very lovely wedding was solemnized
last Saturday afternoon In the Bacon
Memorial Presbyterian church,
where Edith Louis, eldest daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Franklin W. Phillips, of
Stephenson avenue, became" t h e bride
of Charles L. Krell, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Earl Krell, of this city. The
bride was given In marriage by her
father and the ceremony was performed
by. t h e Rev. John K. Borneman.
The bride was' lovely in a white
organdy gown made on long lines,
with a flared skirt and a ruffled neckline.
- Her accessories were white and
she carried a beautiful bridal bouquet
of white roses, lllies-of-the-valley and
baby's breath. The maid of honor,
Miss Jeannette. Phillips, sister of the
bride, was becomingly gowned in pale
pink organdy, with accessories of shell
pink. She carried a lovely bouquet of
pink roses and baby's breath.
The groom was attended by his
brother, Arthur L. Krell, and t h e ushers
were David and Edgar Phillips,
brothers .of the bride, Mrs. William
Weyland, organist, sang "O Promise
Me" and "I Love You Truly" and
played the bridal chorus from Lohengrin
and Mendelssohn's wedding
march.
. The bride's mother wore a white
dress with white accessories and had
a corsage of pink roses, sweet peas
and baby's! breath, and the groom's
mother, Mrs. Earl Krell, wore a yellow
dress and had white accessories
and wore a corsage of pink roses;
sweet peas and baby's breath.
After the wedding a reception was
held at the home of t h e bride's parents.
The decorations were in white
arid the table was centered with a
large white' wedding cake. Covers
were laid for 45.
Soon after the couple left on a
trip to Washington. The bride traveled
in a blue print crepe dress, white
coat and white accessories. Out of
town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Howard
Havens a n d daughter, Phyllis, of
Rome, N, Y., and Mr. arid Mrs. William
Mitchell and sons, William and
David, from Oshawa, Canada.... .
Pre-nuptlal- affairs were showers
given by Mrs. Elsie Brave, Mrs. William
O'Connor, Mrs. Oscar Ellis, Miss
Jeannette Phillips, Mrs. William Weyland,
Mrs. Wilton Sen! and Miss Kathryn
O'Connor.
