    Notes:

    Albert K. Genet, age 81, entered into rest on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Lockport Memorial Hospital. Born November 9, 1927, in Gasport, he was the son of the late August and Rose (nee Raduns) Genet. Albert attended Gasport High School and then served in the US Navy from July 9, 1948 until June 23, 1952 as an Electrician Mate Fireman. He was stationed in Green Cove Springs, FL in the Submarine group 2 Florida group Atlantic Fleet. After the service he married Carol Mann, July 10, 1954 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lockport. He retired from Niagara County Highway Department in 1979, where he was a sign painter and erector. Albert was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Middleport, the Royalton Zoning Board of Appeals for 35 years, 10 years as chairman. He was also a member of the Royalton Republican Committee for 20 years and chairman for 15 years and a member of the Niagara County Republican Committee for 20 years, and a member of its Executive Committee. He enjoyed restoring antique and old cars, watching old movies, stock car races, traveling with family, and was especially proud of his craftsmanship in building truck campers. Albert had lived in Royalton Center for over 50 years. His loving wife, Carol Genet survives him. Dear father of Joanne (David) Haseley of Middleport, Ellen (Chris) Baxter of the United Kingdom and the late Mark L. Genet. Brother of Helen (Donald) Toennissen of Ocala, FL and the late Alvin, John and Roy. Also survived by four step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends are family are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street, Gasport, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held from Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 133 Telegraph Road, Middleport, on Friday at 11:00 AM, with visitation from 10:00–11:00 AM at the church. The Reverend David S. Triplett will officiate. Interment will be in Royalton Mountain Ridge Cemetery, Gasport, NY. Memorials appreciated to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.     Carol J. Genet entered into rest on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at her lifetime Royalton Center residence, under the care of her family and Niagara Hospice. Born January 22, 1933 in Royalton, NY, she was the daughter of Leland and Lucille (Morehouse) Mann. Carol was President of the graduating class of 1949 of Royalton Hartland Central School and also was the class Salutatorian. She also was a 1950 graduate and Valedictorian of the St. Joseph's Business School in Lockport. Carol married Albert K. Genet on July 10, 1954 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Lockport. Her loving husband of 54 1/2 years, Albert, passed away on January 11, 2009. An elected official for 32 years, Carol was the dedicated Town of Royalton Town Clerk from 1975 until her retirement in 2002. She was a member of the Royalton Republican Committee and Secretary of the Niagara County Republican Committee for 12 years. Carol also was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Middleport, several historical societies including Royalton, Bergholtz and Ridgeway, Canada Historical Societies. She enjoyed reading especially about history, watching football on TV, traveling around the United States and spending time with family.Carol was the dear mother of Joanne (David) Haseley of Middleport, Ellen (Christopher) Baxter of the United Kingdom and the late Mark Genet; sister of Sandra (Ron) Haigler of Raleigh, NC and the late Marilyn Rakoczynski. Also surviving are four step-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and family are invited to attend visitation on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, and Thursday morning 10 to 11 AM in the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 133 Telegraph Road, Middleport, NY 14105. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, followed by interment at Royalton Mountain Ridge Cemetery. The Reverend David S. Triplett will officiate. Memorials to the church or Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated by the family.

    GASPORT - August F. Genet, 75, of East Ave., died Friday (March 29, 1957) at his home after a lingering illness. He was born July 5,1881 in North Tonawanda, where he attended St. Mark's Lutheran School. His parents were Albert and Ricka Genet. Mr. Genet was married Nov. 22, 1903 to Rose Raduns, who survives. They moved to the Gasport area about 50 years ago, where he practiced farming. He was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Wolcottsville. Besides his wife, surviving  are a daughter, Mrs. Robert Schultz, Appleton; four sons, Alvin, and Roy Genet, both of Lockport; and John and Albert Genet, both of Gasport; three   sisters, Mrs. Ella Strassburg, Miss Emma Genet, and Mrs. Joseph Doyle, all of North Tonawanda; three brothers, Charles and Otto Genet, both of North Tonawanda; and William Genet, Gasport; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be Monday afternoon at 2:30 in Bream Funeral Home, Main  St., and at 2:45 at St. Michael's Lutheran Church. Wolcottsville. The Rev. Hilbert Huth will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.

    Mrs. Christina Genet, 75 years old,, died this morning at her home, 293 Stenzil street. M,rs.Genet was born in Germany. She had resided in North Tonawanda for the past 49 years. She was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran church on Washington street. Surviving are a husband, Albert; four daughters, Mrs. William Brauer, Mrs. John Strassburg, Mrs. Joseph Doyle and Miss Emma Genet, North Tonawanda;, five sons, Herman. Lockport, August and William, Gasport. and Charles and Otto, North Tonawanda; 38 grandchildren and two grandchildren. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence and half an hour later from the St. Mark's church, Rev. Paul Fretthold officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mark's cemetery.
