    James Jon Pieper, age 85, of North Tonawanda, passed away Tuesday evening August 6, 2019 at Niagara Hospice House, Lockport. Jim was born on July 17, 1934 in Wheatfield. He was the youngest child of Arthur and Ruth (nee Grawe). He was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda graduating from the North Tonawanda High School in 1953. Jim served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member of the Niagara Aerospace Museum and the Vintage Aircraft Group, American Legion, Sikora Post 1322, and St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Retired from Durez in 1980 after 31 years. 
    He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Diane (nee Wescott); two sons Timothy of Melbourne, FL and David (Cathy) of Fairview Heights, IL; one daughter Lynda (Paul) Schultz of Grand Island, NY; five grandchildren, Jonathan & Jenna Pieper, and Emma, Laura, & Rebecca Schultz; one sister-in-law Larene (Hall) Pieper, one-brother-in-law, Arthur (Chun) Wescott, and many nieces and nephews. 
    Jim is predeceased by his parents and five sisters, Doris (Kenneth) Barnes, Betty (Clifford) Pohlman, Norma (Frank) Fill, Ruby (Franklin) Brosius, Marylin (Lloyd)(Kenneth) Brosius-Kerlin, and one brother, Robert Pieper. 
    Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc. 1241 Oliver Street at Ward Road in North Tonawanda on Saturday August 10 from 2 pm-4 pm, and 7 pm-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Sunday at 12:30 pm at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 875 Eggert Drive in North Tonawanda, Rev. Kenneth Craig will officiate, Interment at St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery.     Diane Lee Pieper (nee Wescott) age 85, of North Tonawanda passed June 5th at her home, after a lengthy illness. Daine was born on January 14, 1939, in North Tonawanda, she was the eldest child of George and Lillian (nee Koepsell) Wescott. She was a 1957 graduate of Jefferson High School in Rochester, NY. On July 12, 1958, Diane married the love of her life, James Pieper. They shared 61 incredible years together until Jim’s passing in 2019. Diane was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and St Matthew Lutheran Church. At the church she has served, at one time, on the Decorating Committee, Youth Board, Sunday School, and the Ladies Guide. She retired from the North Tonawanda United Teachers in 1997 after 20 years serving as the union’s administrative secretary. Diane’s family was the center of her life, she also was an avid reader of romance novels, watcher of television mysteries, and enjoyed her memories from many cruise vacations. She is survived by two sons, Timothy of North Tonawanda, NY and David (Cathy) of Fairview Heights, IL; one daughter Lynda (Paul) Schultz of Grand Island, NY; five grandchildren, Jonathan (Rachel) and Jenna Pieper, and Emma, Laura and Rebecca Schultz; one brother, Arthur (Chun) Wescott, and many nieces and nephews. Diane was predeceased by her parents. Friends may call at the FRETTHOLD FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd, in North Tonawanda, Monday, June 10th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.     the bride, as maid-of-honor, wore
    a ballerina gown of white nylon
    shrimp color taffeta with a
    matching headpiece and carried a
    bouquet of shrimp color roses and

    green taffeta, was the bridesmaid,

    A reception was given in the
    home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pie-
    per, 935 Sweeney St. White carnations

    roses and the tiered wedding cake
    were decorations at the bride's
    table.
    After a wedding trip into Can-
    ada, Mr. and Mrs. Pieper are at
    home in 180 Miller St.

    NORTH TONAWANDA, Oct. 24 - Gustave Drawe, 70 years old, a well known resident of the town of Wheatfield, died at his home in the Nash road this morning, following a brief illness. The deceased was born in Germany, but came to this country at the age of 18 and had lived in the town of Wheatfield since. He is survived by four sons and two daughters, Edward, Herman, and
    Benjamin Drawe, and Mrs. Elsie Neumann, of North Tonawanda. Philip Drawe, of Tonawanda, and George and Walter Drawe and Mrs. Ruth Piper, of the town of Wheatfield. Thirty-one grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral serevices will be held, from the home of his son, George, In the Nash road, Friday at 2 p. m., and at 2:30 p. m. from St. John's Evangelical church, St- Johnsburg. Interment will be in St. Johnsburg cemetery.

    Ernestine Grawe, 68, of the Nash Road, Town of Wheatfield, died this morning at her home. Born in Germany, Mrs. Grawe came to this country and the Town of Wheatfield 62 years ago.
    She is survived by her husband, Gustave Grawe, two daughters, Mrs. Charles Neumann of North Tonawanda, and Mrs. Arthur Peiper, town of Wheatfield; six sons, Edmund, George, and Walter, of the town of Wheatfield; Herman and Benjamin of North Tonawanda, and Phillip of Tonawanda. Mrs. Grawe leaves also 35 grandchildren, one great grandchild, three sisters, Mrs. Jacob Kline, town of Wheatfield, Mrs. William Achterburg, town of Pendleton, an Mrs. AIbert Broecker of Pekin.
    The funeral will be held Sunday at two o'clock from the late residence and 2:30 from St. John's church, St. Johnsburg, the Rev. Walter Thiemecke officiating. Burial will be in St. Johnsburg cemetery.

    the DeGraff Memorial hospital after
    a short illness. He had lived in
    the town of Wheatfield. where he
    was born, and North Tonawanda
    all his life. He was a member of
    the Remington Rand Social club
    and Friedens Evangelical church.

    Rites will be held Friday afternoon
    at 2:30 o'clock from the residence.
    Rev. Theodore Mayer will
    officiate and burial will be in
    Friedens cemetery.

    MRS.LENA KOEPSELL
    Mrs. Lena Koepsell, 46, years old, died this morning at her home in 96 Wheatfield street after a lingering illness. Born in North Tonawanda, Mrs. Koepsell, a lifelong resident, was a member of Friedens Evangelical church. In addition to her husband Charles, she is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Harold Brumley, Mrs. Robert Hall, Lillian, Violet, Beatrice and Audrey of the Tonawandas and Mrs. Norman Parks of Niagara Falls and three sons, Charles, Jr., Chester and Norman of this city. She also leaves twosisters, Mrs. Albert Gauda of this city, Mrs. James Bampton of Buffalo and a brother, William Greenburg of North Tonawanda.
    Notice of the funeral will be given later.
