    Thomas L. Batt, age 84, of Wheatfield, died Friday, October 6, 2006, at Hospice Buffalo after a long illness. Born February 10, 1922 in Buffalo, he was the son of the late Lee and Ethel (nee Brumley) Batt and had been a lifelong resident of Wheatfield. An Army Air Force Veteran of WWII, he owned and operated the Batt Agency for 60 years. He was a past president of the Wheatfield Business Association and the Wheatfield Republican Club, a life member of St. Johnsburg Volunteer Fire Company and the American Legion, Wheatfield Post No. 1451, and was an award winning member of the Amateur Trap Shooting Association. He was the husband of the late Alice (nee Jaeger) Batt, who died in 1985. He is survived by his son, Thomas L. Batt of Wheatfield. Friends may call from 1-4 PM on Sunday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held at 4 PM Sunday; the Rev. Msgr. James Connelly officiating. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to Niagara Feline Friends, 6943 Ellicott Road, Lockport, NY 14094, are preferred.

    The Rev. Chester Polewicz officiated Oct. 26 in
    St. Joseph's Church when Miss Alice Helen Jaeger,
    daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Jaeger, 204 Zimmer-
    man St., became the bride of Thomas L. B a t t , son of
    Mr. and Mrs. L e e B a t t , Ward Rd.
    White flowers were placed on
    the altar for the ceremony and
    white satin ribbons marked the
    famiy pews.
    The bride chose a white tulle
    over ice blue taffeta gown with
    appliques of re-embroidered Alen-
    con lace, a shirred bodice, short
    sleeves, and a full skirt. She wore
    white tulle gauntlets and a pearl
    necklace and earrings to comple-
    ment her dress. Her headdress
    of sequins and pearls held a shoul-
    der length veil and she carried a
    cascade bouquet of white roses
    and shasta daisies.
    The matron of honor, Mrs. Al-
    vin Schimschack, the bride's sis-
    ter, and the maid-of-honor, Miss
    Marie Keller, wore identical street
    length sheath dresses of Ameri-
    can beauty velvet, with matching
    satin slippers, and matching head-
    dresses. They wore pearl neck-
    laces and earrings, gifts from the
    bride, and carried cascade bou-
    quets of American Beauty roses
    and white shasta daisies.
    The flower girl, Eileen Jaeger,
    the bride's niece, wore a white
    chiffon over ice blue taffeta frock
    with matching headdress. She
    carried a basket of white roses
    and blue chrysanthemums.
    Vernon Batt attended his cous-
    in as best man. Anton Jaeger
    and Alvin Schimschack were ush-
    ers.
    Mrs. Jaeger chose a blue crepe
    dress with a jacket and pink ac-
    cessories for her daughter's wed-
    ding. A turquoise lace and taf-
    feta dress with white accessories
    was the choice of Mrs. Batt.
    A wedding dinner was served in
    the Isle View Restaurant for the
    immediate families and out of
    town guests. An evening reception
    was given in the Eldredge
    Club. Out of town guests were
    from Manchester, Conn.; Chicago,
    Ill.; Medina and Barker, N. Y.;
    and Niagara Falls, Ont.
    Mr. and Mrs. Batt will be at
    home after Nov. 10 when they return
    from a trip to New Y o rk
    City and Pennsylvania.
    Hostesses at parties for the
    bride were:
    Mrs. Emil Jaeger, Mrs. Anton
    Jaeger Jr., Mrs. Joseph Baumgartner,
    Mrs. La Verne Offerstein.
    Mrs. Ross Overholdt. Mrs. Alvin

    Lee L. Batt. 69. of Ford Rd.
    of the Batt Insurance and
    Real Estate agency, died
    Tuesday (Dec. 2, 1958) at
    his home after a brief ill-
    ness.
    Born in North Tonawanda,
    he lived in the Town of Wheat-
    field for the last 33 years. He
    was formerly employed at the
    Wurlitzer Co. and later em-
    ployed as an accountant by the
    W. F. Kelsey Lumber Co. Mr.
    Batt at one time was a field
    representative for the Hom e
    Owners' Loan Corp. and in
    1940 he established the Batt
    Agency.
    He was a member of St.
    Joseph's Church and the Holy
    Name Society of the church
    and a member of the Adams
    Volunteer Fire Dept.
    He is survived by his wife,
    Ethel E. Brumley Batt; one
    son, Thomas L. Batt of the
    Town of Wheatfield; a brother,
    John Batt of Pekin and a sis-
    ter, Mrs. James sheehan of
    Manchester, Conn.
    Funeral arrangements are
    being made by the Hamp Fu-
    neral Home.

    McPhail, 77, of 7063 Ward Road,
    Town of Wheatfield, Saturday
    (Aug. 23, 1969) at DeGraff
    Memorial Hospital after a long
    illness.
    Born in North Tonawanda,
    Mrs. McPhail was a lifelong
    resident of the area. She was a
    member of St. Joseph's RC
    Church, the Altar Society of the
    church, the Salvation Army
    Golden Age Club of Tonawanda
    and Lockport and the Ladies
    Auxiliary of American Legion
    Wheatfield Post 1451.
    Surviving are her husband,
    Thomas J. McPhail. a son,
    Thomas L. Batt, and a
    grandson, Thomas Lee Batt, all
    of the Town of Wheatfield.
    The family will be present
    from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the
    Hamp Funeral Home Inc.,
    Adam-Seymour Streets, Tona-
    wanda, where prayers will be
    said at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday
    followed by a Requiem Mass at
    10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church.
    The Rev. Thaddeus J. Ablotny
    will officiate. Burial in Mt.
    Oliver Cemetery.

    Miss Ethel Brumley, daughter of
    Mr. and Mrs. Willis E. Brumley of 348
    Oliver street, and Linus B. Batt, son
    of Superintendent of Water Works and
    Mrs. John B . B a t t of Falconer and
    Thompson streets, were married this
    morning at t h e parsonage of t h e Ascension
    church on Robinson street,
    Rev. J. F. Kelly officiating. The attendants
    were Miss Althea Batt, sister
    of the bridegroom, and Lawrence Gaser.
    Following the ceremony, the
    couple departed for Toronto and other
    Canadian points on their honeymoon.

    NORTH TONAWANDA-John B.
    Batt, 81, of 291 Falconer street, died
    suddenly last night at his home,
    after a heart attack. Mr. Batt was
    one of this city's best known residents
    He was born in WUliamsrille
    and came to this city at the age of
    nine, residing here erer since.
    He was elected an alderman, from
    the Martinsville section of the city,
    in 1892, and served several terms.
    He was subsequently named superintendent
    of water and served in
    that capacity for 30 years, retiring
    eight years ago.
    He was a charter member of the
    Rescue Fire company, of Martinsville,
    and a member of the North
    Tonawanda Benevolent association.
    He is survived by three sons,
    John J. and Edwin P.. of this city,
    and Lee L. Batt. of the town of
    Wheatfield; two daughters, Mrs.
    Ous T. McRae, of this city, and
    Mrs. James Sheehan, of Mechanicsvllle,
    N. Y.; eight grandchildren,
    three great grandchildren and a
    sister, Miss Catherine Batt, of Wllllamsville.
    The funeral will be held Saturday
    morning at 9:30 at the home and
    at 10 o'clock at Ascention church,
    with interment in Mt. Olivet cemetery.

    works, John B. Batt, died yesterday at
    the family home, 291 Falconer street.
    Besides her husband, Mrs. Batt is
    survived by three sons, John J. Pekin;
    l,ee L., St. Johnsburg. and Edwin F.,
    North Tonawanda; two daughters, Mrs.
    Gus C. McRae, St. Johmburg, and
    Mrs. James M. Sheehan, Mamaroneck;
    three brothers, Benjamin Daumen, Buffalo;
    Peter Daumen, Indianapolis. Ind..
    and Casper Daumcn, North Tonavanda;

    BTandchlldren.
    The funeral will be held Thursday
    morning at 9 o'clock from the Ascension

    wedding, Mr. Batt has been superintendent

    With many friends and relatives In
    attendance, solemn nuptial mass in honor
    of Mr. and Mrs. Batt was celebrated
    at the Ascension church at 9 o'clock, the
    Rev. J. P. Kelly and his assistant the
    Rev. Earl J. Kleis, assisted by the Rev.
    Vincent McCarthy, Wilson, officiating.
    A reception was held at the home.
    Many city officials were among the
    guests.

    Cabinet Maker Dies
    At DeGraff Hospital
    TONAWANDA. April 5- Willis
    Eugene Brumley. 82. of 27 Long's
    avenue, died yesterday at the De-
    Graff Memorial hospital sfter an Illness
    of two weeks. A native of Lockport
    Mr. Brumley had lived here the
    last 27 years. He was a member of
    Electric City Lodge and Enterprise
    Encampment. IOOF.
    Shortly after moving here he became
    an employe of the former
    Thompson". Hubman and Fisher wood
    working plant as a cabinet maker.
    In recent years he had been employed
    by the Knoell Manufacturing
    company.
    He Is survived by one son, Ralph,
    of Buffalo; a daughter. Mrs. Lee
    Batt; one grandson, Thomas Batt,
    both of Wheatfield, and one sister,
    Mrs. Stella Spencer, of Lockport.
    Last rites will be held Wednesday
    at 2 p.m. at the Hamp funera
    home, 37 Adam street. The Rev.
    Craig W. Schwartz will officiate. In-
    terment will be in Rest Haven ceme-
    tery.

    Amelia W. Brumley, 75. died yes-
    terday at her home. 354 Miller
    street. Her death followed a stroke
    suffered two weeks ago. She was
    born in Germany and came here
    with her parents when only a few
    months old. She was a member of
    the Payne Avenue Church of Christ
    and the Rosedale Rebekah lodge.
    Surviving are her husband, Wil-
    lis; a daughter, Ms. Lee Batt, of
    Wheatfield; a son, Ralph, of Buf-
    falo; a grandson, Thomas Batt
    with the Army Air Forces; three
    sisters Mrs. James Garrick, of
    Barker, N.Y., Mrs William Redick,,

    wood, N.J.
    The funeral will be held Thursday
    at 2:30 p.m. at the home. Inter-
