    Violette E. (nee Ewald) Bowman, age 92, of the Town of Wheatfield, Thursday, September 3, 2009 at her residence, after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late John G. and Matilda R. (Eberbach) Ewald and sister of the late Robert P. Ewald. She was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School and the Chown School of Business. She was employed by Buffalo Bolt for 20 years and Thruway Fasteners for 38 years, retiring in 1997. She was a long time active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda, having served as a Sunday School teacher, member of the Altar Guild, Choir and Deacon. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, newspapers and Classical music. Dearest mother of Russell Bowman of the Town of Wheatfield; grandmother of Mitchell (Dora) Bowman of Gaffney, SC; great-grandmother of Carrie and Daniel Bowman; sister-in-law of Betty Ewald and Florence Proefrock; also survived by a niece, Barbara Stahlman and a nephew, Paul Ewald; as well as various other relatives and many cherished friends.A Memorial Service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church at the convenience of the family. The Rev. David Beutel will officiate. Interment in Elmlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church or Camp Pioneer, 9324 Lake Shore Rd., Angola, NY 14006.
