George J. Scherrer, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2009, in the Niagara Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Niagara Falls, NY. He was born in North Tonawanda, NY, on February 10, 1917, the son of the late George and Maria (Katzendobler) Scherrer.Mr. Scherrer was employed with Wurlitzer and later as an equipment operator with the Hackett Company, in Buffalo, for several years. He was an avid sportsman.He is survived by a brother, Frank (Norma) Scherrer of Niagara Falls, NY; a sister, Leatta Broeker of the Town of Wheatfield; also many nieces, nephews and his family at Niagara Rehab. Mr. Scherrer was the brother of the late Henry Scherrer, Mary Mante, Rose Gatley and Audrey Reitz.The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn, NY, on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Born in Germany, she had
lived in the Town of Wheatfield
for.52 years.
Survivors include her husband,
George ' J. Scherrer;
three sons, Henry Scherrer,
Tonawanda; George Scherrer,
Buffalo, and Frank Scherrer,
Wheatfield; five daughters,
Mrs. Martin (Mary) Mante,
Mrs. Leroy (Rose) Gately, Mrs.
Lloyd (Leattaj. Broeker, and
Mrs. Meryle (Audrey) Reitz,
all of Wheatfield, and Mrs.
Joseph (Adelaide) Gegenfartner,
in Germany; 25 grandchildren
and 10 great-grandchildren.

conduct the funeral service at
1:30 p.m. Tuesday in „ the
Watt en g e l Funeral Home.
Burial will be In White Chapel
Memorial Park.
