Maerten
Anna M. Maerten, 84, of 7000 Ward Road, Town of Wheatfield, Tuesday (Jan. 13, 1970) at DeGraff Hospital after lengthy illness. Mrs. Maerten was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and the Ladies Guild. Survived by two daughter, Mrs. August (Ella) Koenig of the Town of Wheatfield and Mrs. Walter (Leona) Westphal of North Tonawanda, and two sons Raymond C. and Edward L. Maerten, both of the Town of Wheatfield. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St., at Ward Road, North Tonawanda, until noon Friday. Services will be conducted at St. Mark Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Edward C. Goehner will officiate. Interment in St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery.

Ferdinand Achterberg, 81 years old died yesterday afternoon at his home on the Niagara Falls boulevard at Wurlitzer after a long illness. Besides his wife, three sons, Charles Achterberg of the town of Wheatfield. Ernest and Gustav Achterberg of North Tonawanda, two daughters, Mrs Augusta Luther and Mrs Albert Maertin of the Tonawandas, 28 grandchildren and five great, grandchildren survive. The funeral
will be held Wednesday afternoon from the late residence- at 1:30 o'clock and a half hour later from St John's church at St Johnsburg. Burial will be in St John's cemetery.

Mrs. Ernestine Achterberg, 87 years old, died yesterday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert J. Maerton. 52 Fredericka Street. Born in Germany, she had lived in the town of Wheatfield and North Tonawanda for the past 45 years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Maerton and Mrs. August Luther, North Tonawanda; three sons, Charles, Pickard's Bridge and Ernest and Gustav North Tonawanda; 20 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the late residence and half an hour later at the St. John's church, St. Johnsburg. Rev. Walter Thiemecke will officiate and interment will be in the St. John's cemetery.
