EDWARD R. BEHNKE, MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Edward R. Behnke, 74, of Ridge Road, a mechanical engineer at Columbus McKinnon Corp. in Amherst, died Friday (July 2, 1999) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a long illness. Behnke, who was known as Ted, was born in Cambria. He received bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Buffalo, where he was a member of Tau Beta Pi, an engineering honor society. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where he served on several boards.
Survivors include his wife, the former Lillian "Skip" Strablow; three daughters, Gail Dugue of Raleigh, N.C., Barbara of Niagara Falls and Kim Bigelow of Cary, N.C.; a sister, Esther Stange of Sanborn; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hamilton & Clark Funeral Home, 270 Young St., Wilson. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Cambria.

Mrs. Behnke was born in St.
Johnsburg and had lived in the
Ridge road the last 40 years. She
was an active member of St. Peter's
church and its women's organiza-

Mary C. Strablow. of this village,
died yesterday at St. Mary's hospital.
Niagara Falls. Mrs. Strablow
was a resident of this vicinity for
many rears and was an active member
of St. Peters Lutheran church
at North Ridge. N Y Her loss wil
be mourned by a wide circle of
friends.
Mrs. Strablow is survived by her
husband, Elwood Strablow, at home;
one daughter, Lillian Strablow; two
sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Wal-
ter Strablow of Cambria, N.Y., Mrs.
Herman Seefeldt and John and Ed-
ward Pollow, all of Ransomville.
The funeral will be held Saturday,
February 6, at 2:30 p.m. at the
home of the sister, Mrs. Seefeldt, in
the New road. The Rev. Carl Oldach
pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran
church, will officiate. Interment
will be in North Ridge cemetery.

The will of Frederick Behnke of the town of Cambria, who died on December 29. has been admitted to probate in surrogate court Judge Hickey, and letters testamentary issued to the widow, Louise, and a son. Edward Behnke. The estate, according to the petition, consists of $5,000 and upwards real cstato and $1,000 anil upwards personal property. The will leaves it all to the widow. Another son. William Behnke, also of Cambria, also survives.
