    Edward R. Behnke, 74, of Ridge Road, a mechanical engineer at Columbus McKinnon Corp. in Amherst, died Friday (July 2, 1999) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a long illness. Behnke, who was known as Ted, was born in Cambria. He received bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Buffalo, where he was a member of Tau Beta Pi, an engineering honor society. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where he served on several boards.
    Survivors include his wife, the former Lillian "Skip" Strablow; three daughters, Gail Dugue of Raleigh, N.C., Barbara of Niagara Falls and Kim Bigelow of Cary, N.C.; a sister, Esther Stange of Sanborn; and two grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hamilton & Clark Funeral Home, 270 Young St., Wilson. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Cambria.

    Mrs. Behnke was born in St.
    Johnsburg and had lived in the
    Ridge road the last 40 years. She
    was an active member of St. Peter's

    Niagara Falls. Mrs. Strablow
    was a resident of this vicinity for
    many rears and was an active member

    at North Ridge. N Y Her loss wil
    be mourned by a wide circle of
