(Wichita Falls, TX) - Lt. Col. Daniel "Dan" Albright, 72, of Wichita Falls, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009. A graveside service was conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman, TX.Dan was the son of the late Harold and Esther (Campbell) Albright. He was born on December 14, 1936 in Niagara Falls, NY. He was raised in the small farming community of Wilson, NY on the shores of Lake Ontario. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1954. He attended college at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, OH, graduating in 1958 with a B.A. degree in Psychology. At that time he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U. S. Air Force. Lt. Albright began his military career at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, reporting in October 1958. His move from Wilson, NY to San Antonio was accomplished via a 1957 MGA convertible with all his worldly possessions in the very small trunk, as well as passenger compartment. He was then stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls.At the old age of 25, he served as Captain during the Cuba Crisis and was Crew Chief Commander in the Missile Silo out of Abilene. It was during this tour that Dan met a rancher and learned to break horses. He soon learned he was a Texan in heart and spirit.Throughout the rest of his military career, Dan was stationed in Rome, NY, Oklahoma City, Thailand, Vietnam, Germany and Washington, D.C. During his tour in southeast Asia he lead secret commando missions into Laos and Cambodia. He was later working with the Office of Special Investigation and was stationed at Ramstcin Air Force Base in Germany. While working in Germany he became acquainted with the German Director of all NATO personnel, who visited him for several years after his retirement. Dan enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and especially loved Austria.After his tour in Germany, Col. Albright was then transferred to the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., where he was working with the Office of Special Investigation and worked with top secret clearances. Dan proudly served our country until retiring in 1979 as Lt. Colonel. He then went back to Wichita Falls where he was employed at Midwestern State University from 1980 to 1995. It was there Dan met his wife, Ruby Wallace Rawn, and they later married in April 1999. He was a member of Grace Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Dan loved being out in the woods, as well as fishing on Lake Ontario just blocks from his childhood home.He is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Rawn Albright of Wichita Falls, TX; daughters, LeAnne Henderson, Britt Rothenborg and Cindy Arnold; step-son, Thomas Henderson and four grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Cindy Townsend (Gerald) of Youngstown, NY; niece, Heather Anello (Sal) and nephew, Scott Townsend (Amy), also of Youngstown, NY; four grand-nephews and one grand-niece. WILSON, June 13.—A pretty wed
ding took place in the Methodist
church Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock.
The Rev. Fay H. Chapman, pastor,
officiated. The bride was Miss Esther
Campbell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Daniel Campbell, of the West Lake
road, and the groom was Harold Albright,
son of Mrs. and Mrs. Wm.
Albright, of Lake "street. The attendants
were Miss Elizabeth Fields, of
Lewiston, and Milburn Campbell, a
brother of the bride, of Wilson. Only
the immediate families and a few ln-
timate friends were .present. The
bride wore a pink dress with blue
jacket and white hat. She carried
an arm bouquet of roses. Miss Fields
wore a flesh colored gown and she
also carried an arm bouquet. A re-
ception at the home of the bride's,
parents followed the. ceremony. Mr.
and Mrs. Albright left for Virginia
where the groom will be in the em-
ploy of Wm. Kirchoff. They will
ultimately make their home in Wilson.

WILSON. April 17-William F.
Albright. 82. former mayor and one
of she best known residents of
Wilson, died Saturday afternoon at
the family home in Lake street.
Mr. Albright was born in Wilson,
March 7. 1868. and had lived
here all his life. When a young
man he worked as a carpenter
during, the time the first dwellings
were beinig erected at Sunset
Beach.
Later he entered the farm implement
sales business in a store on
the present site of the Kendall
service station in Lake street. On
the second floor of the building
was the Albright opera house
operated by Mr. Albright for over
25 years. This was before the days
of the motion picture and a great
variety of traveling shows and
other old time entertainment trod
the boards of the Albright theater.
.Entered Contracting Business
Liter Mr. Albright sold out his
business interests to Loomis and
Putnam and entered the building
contracting business which he con-
ducted successfully until he was
forced to retire because of advanc-
ing years.
A staunch Democrat in politics,
Mr. Albright served several terms
as mayor of Wilson and was village
clerk for six years. He was also
Democratic committeeman for Wil-
son for many years.
Funeral Services Planned
He is survived by his wife. Mrs.
Anna Albright; five daughters,'
Mrs. Alan Botsford and Mrs.
Theodore Aronstam, both of Rochester,
N. Y.: Mrs. K. W. Moore,
Brockport; Mrs. Walter Jarchow,
Port Huron. Mich . and Mrs Harold
B o h l m a n . Lockport; one son.
Harold Albright Wilson; three.
sisters, Mrs. William .Dunker and
Mrs. Charles Eick, Wilson, and
Mrs. Frank Westphal, in Michigan;
one brother, Frank Albright, Nia-
gara Falls; nine grandchildren and
three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held to-
morrow at 2 p.m. at the family
home and at 2:30 o'clock at the
Exley Methodist church with the
Rev. Walter Kingsley officiating.
Interment will be in Greenwood
cemetery.

WILSON-Mrs. Anna Westphal
Albright, 77, of 387 Lake
St., died at her home Wednesday
(Nov. 11. 1959).
Born in 1882, in Port Huron
Mich., Mrs. Albright had lived
in Wilson for 55 years. She
married William Albright in
1904. Mr. Albright died in 1950.
Mrs. Albright was affiliated
with the St. John's Evangelical
Church in Port Huron, but
had been an active worker in
Exley Methodist Church here
throughout her residence in
this area. She was a member
of Rebckah Lodge No. 397 for
43 years, receiving her life pin
in 1958, and was a past noble
grand of the lodge.
Survivors include a son,
Harold Albright, postmaster
for this village; three daugh-
ters, Mrs. Allan Botsford and
Mrs. Theodore Arontom, both
of Rochester, and Mrs. Walter
Jarchow, of Port Huron; several
grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
A fourth daughter,
Mrs. Marguerite Bohlman,
this village, died in March of
this year.
Funeral services will be
held at 2:30 Sunday al the
Hamilton and Clark Chapel,
the Rev. Walter Kingsley officiating.
Burial will be in
Greenwood Cemetery, Wilson.
