will be held at the
convenience of the
family at the Rhoney
Funeral Home, Sanborn,
NY., with the Rev.
Norbert Wasiewicz of St.
Paul's United Church of
Christ officiating. Interment
in Wheatfield
Cemetery. No prior
visitation. In lieu of
flowers, memorials
contributions may be
made to St. Paul's
United Church of Christ,

SANBORN-It was 50 years
ago today, Feb. 14, 1918, (St.
Valentine's Day) that Mary
Elizabeth Benthin and Arthur
F. Schuler exchanged wedding
vows in the Town of Cambria.
Today they are observing
their golden anniversary at
their home, 4933 Shawnee
Road. Mr. Schuler is a retired
fruit farmer.
Sunday, Mr. and Mrs.
Schuler. were guests of honor
at a, family party marking
their anniversary. The event
was held at the home of one
of their sons, John Schuler,
and his wife, 4942 Shawnee
Road.
Mr. and Mrs. Schuler have
five children, Harold Schuler,
Niagara Falls; "Robert and
John Schuler, Sanborn, Mrs.
John (Dora) Johnston, Youngstown;
and Arthur Schuler,
Lockport; and 10 grand-
children.

1. SCHULER, Harold A was born on 18 May 1922 in Town of Cambria, Niagara County, NY; died on 16 May 2008 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, PA.
2. SCHULER, Robert L was born on 14 Jun 1926 in Town of Cambria, Niagara County, NY; died on 31 May 2019 in North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY.
3. SCHULER, Arthur was born on 5 May 1927 in Town of Cambria, Niagara County, NY; died on 3 Feb 2011 in Lockport, Niagara County, NY.
4. SCHULER, Dora M was born on 16 Jun 1929 in Sanborn, Town of Lewiston, Niagara County, NY; died on 6 Dec 2017 in Town of Lewiston, Niagara County, NY.
5. SCHULER, John A was born on 3 Jul 1936 in Town of Cambria, Niagara County, NY; died on 23 Apr 2008 in North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY.

Carl Benthin, 92, of Shawnee,
N. Y., husband of the late Augusta
Hubner Benthin, died Sunday,
March 9. He is survived by
six daughters, Mrs. Benjamin
Werth, Mrs. Jacob Bechtel, Mrs.
Arthur Schuler, Sanborn; Mrs.
Marvin Miller, Lockport; Mrs.
William Mielke, Bergen, N. Y.
and Miss Minnie Benthin at home;
three sons, John and Frank Benthin
of Sanborn, and Charles Benthin
of Lockport; and thirteen
grandchildren. Funeral services
will be conducted from the late
residence in Shawnee Wednesday
at 3 p.m. and from St. Paul's
Church, Shawnee at 3:30 pjn. The
Rev. Theodore Mayer of North
Tonawanda will officiate. Burial
will be in Shawnee cemetery.

Carl married HUEBNER, Augusta in 1884 in Niagara County, NY. Augusta was born in Jun 1863 in Germany; died on 24 Jun 1936 in Town of Cambria, Niagara County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

SHAWNEE, June 17.-Mrs. Augusta
Benthin, 73 years old, wife of Carl
Benthin. retired farmer of the Shawnee
road, died at the family home here
yesterday. She had been in ill health
for some time.
Funeral services will be held from
the home on Friday afternoon at 2
o'clock, standard time, and at 2:30
from 8t. Paul's Lutheran church here.
Interment win be in Shawnee cemetery.
Mrs. Benthin was born to Germany
but had resided in this country for
over 50 years. For 28 years they operated
a fram on the Saunder's Settlement
road before coming to Shawnee.
In former years she was an active
member of St. Paul's church.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Benthin
is survived by the following children:
Mrs. Benjamin Werth, Mrs. Jacob
Bechtel, Mrs. Arthur Schuler and
Frank Benthin, all of Cambria,
Charles and John, both of Shawnee,
Mrs. William Mielke. of Bergen, N. Y,
and Minnie and Molly Benthin, at
home. Fifteen grandchildren also
survive.
