Carl W. Gieseler, age 94, of Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence, formerly of Lewiston Road, Niagara Falls, entered into rest on November 19, 2009 at the facility. Born in the Town of Porter, NY on August 1, 1915 to the late Rudolph and Emma (LaBove) Gieseler. A graduate of Trott Vocational High School, Carl was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving from 1942-1946, working as an aircraft mechanic. He was employed at Moore Business Forms and was a salesman at the former McGrath and Durk Hardware Store for many years. He was a member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church. Hobbies included coin collecting, photography and hunting. Survivors include four children, John (Eileen) Gieseler of Wheatfield, Carol (Mike) Krachon of Noblesville, IN, Thomas Gieseler of Houston, TX, and Pamela Gieseler of Boothwin, PA; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary (McGrath) Gieseler in October 1983; two infant sons and two sisters. Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road (Bergholz), in Wheatfield, on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday (Nov. 24) at 10:00 AM in St. Vincent dePaul Parish, St. Leo's site, 2748 Military Road, Town of Niagara. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
