Obituary of Richard Sattelberg

Richard A. Sattelberg passed away Thursday April 28, 2016 in Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls on January 16, 1928, he was the son of Leonard and Esther Comfort Sattelberg. Richard was a self-employed general contractor in Lockport for many years, he enjoyed doing yardwork, gardening, woodworking and was a member of the Masons. He is predeceased by his wife Shirley (Jacobi) Sattelberg, who passed away December 2, 2009, a son, David Sattelberg and his sister Jane Moeller.

Richard was the father of Thomas (JoAnne) Sattelberg, John Sattelberg and Daniel (Carol) Sattelberg; grandfather of Patricia, Christine, Kayla, Jessica, Thomas and William.

Friends may call Tuesday May 3rd 4-8 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will be held Wednesday May 4th at 10 AM. Interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery

Shirley F. Sattelberg passed away December 2, 2009. Born November 20, 1932 in Williamsville, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Emma (nee Luchterhand) Jacobi. Shirley was a graduate from Amherst Central and worked in the admissions office at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Shortly after, Shirley went to work for Dr. Fugitt and Dr. Lillie office, Kenmore, where she was the administrator. Shirley's whole world revolved around her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, and especially enjoyed going to their cottage in Apsley, Ontario, Canada.Shirley is survived by her husband, Richard A. Sattelberg of Amherst; mother of Thomas (JoAnne) Sattelberg of Cicero, NY, John (Barbara) Sattelberg of Pendleton, Daniel (Carol) Sattelberg of Lockport, and the late David Sattelberg; grandmother of Patricia, Christine, Kayla, Jessica, Thomas and William; sister of Edward Jacobi of Williamsville and Karen (Roger) Dunnewold of Clymer, NY; also survived by several nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends may call Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 AM.
