    Elaine L. (Wackett) Zimmerman, 72, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2009, at her residence, while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Julia (Harris) Wackett.Elaine was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and attended local schools. In 1952, she married Harold A. "Zimmy" Zimmerman, Jr. in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Zimmerman predeceased her on January 25, 2009. Elaine was employed at the Globar Division of the Carborundum Co., in Niagara Falls, for thirty eight years, where she had served as a union steward and officer for their credit union. Following her retirement from Carborundum, she worked as a sales associate at the Bon Ton Department Store in Niagara Falls. Elaine was also a volunteer worker for the Niagara County Board of Elections, and in her leisure time enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening and crocheting. Above all, Elaine took great pleasure in spending time with her children and grandchildren.Mrs. Zimmerman is survived by her three children, Keith H. Zimmerman, Darla E. (Kenneth) McCormick and Judy L. Hertel, all of Niagara Falls, NY; and was predeceased by one daughter, Melody (Mike of Burlington, Ontario, Canada) Salfi. Survivors also include ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Darla (late William) Wendt of Sanborn, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by one brother, Edward (Lori of Arizona) Wackett.Friends may call on Saturday from 6 – 8 PM and on Sunday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI and SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where funeral services will be held on Monday, December 7th at 10:30 AM, with Rev. Joseph Denitto officiating. Interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.     Before the altar of the Niagara
    United Presbyterian church, Military
    and Lockport roads, Miss Elaine
    Wackett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
    Richard Wackett, Lincoln street, and
    Harold Zimmerman, son of Mr.
    and Mrs. Harold Zimmerman,
    Panama street, exchanged nuptial
    vows Saturday. The Rev. W. B.
    McFarland, pastor, officiated.
    The bride, given in marriage by
    her father, was attired in a colonial
    gown of chantilly lace and carried a
    colonjal bouquet of red roses and
    pompons. Her fingertip veil of
    illusion fell from a rhincstone tiara.
    Miss Ray Ann Brown was the
    bridesmaid. She chose, a colonial
    gown of blue, stain brocade and
    carried a colonial bouquet of yellow
    roses.
    The best man was Leonard Smith.
    The bride's mother wore a black
    crepe dress with white accessories
    and a corsage of red roses.
    The bridegroom's mother chose
    a black velvet dress with a corsage
    of red roses.
    Ushers were Ralph Zimmerman,
    brother of the bridegroom, and
    Donnie McCormack.
    Following the ceremony, a reception
    was held at the Miniature Falls
    restaurant with more than 200 guem
    present. Out of town guests included
    relatives of the bridegrom
    from Canada.
    For going away, the bride chose
    a street length dress of crepe and
    a corsage of pink carnations.
    The young couple will reside in
    Niagara Falls.

    Rushed to Memorial hospital after
    a fall down a stairway in his home
    Saturday night, Roger Wackett. 73,
    of 948 Ontario avenue, was pronounced
    dead on arrival at the hospital.
    Coroner James W. Heary, who Investigated,
    issued a certificate of
    accidental death. He said that the
    man, who had been suffering from
    a heart ailment, probably had a
    heart attack before he fell and the
    shock, plus a skull injury resulted
    in death.
    He is survived by four sons,
    Charles, Albert, Louis and Richard,
    and two daughters. Mrs. Alice Johnson
    and Mrs. George Eberhart, all
    of this city.
    Funeral services will be held at
    8:30 a. m. tomorrow at the Rhoney
    Funeral home. 1124 Ontario avenue,
    and at 9:15 a. m. at Sacred
    Heart church. Interment will be
    In Gate of Heaven cemetery.

    Stricken with a heart attack while
    walking in the street near her home
    last evening, Mrs. Sultana Wackett,
    wife of Roger Wackett, of 1516 North
    avenue, was carried to her home,
    where she died a few minutes later.
    Coroner W. L. Draper, who investigated,
    said that death was due to
    a heart condition from which the
    woman had been suffering for some
    time.
    A native of Syria. Mrs. Wackett had
    lived in Niagara Falls for the past 24
    years. Besides her husband, she is
    survived by four sons and two daughters.
    Charles, George, Louis and
    Richard Wackett, Mrs. Alice Johnson
    and Mrs. Elizabeth Eberhard, all of
    this city.
    The funeral will be held from the
    family home at 8:30 a. m. Thursday,
    with services at Sacred Heart church
    at 9 a. m. Interment will be made
    in Riverdale cemetery.
