    L. Sommer, 75, a lifelong resident of
    North Tonawanda. died suddenly
    yesterday at his home. 767 Sweeney
    street. A retired mall carrier, he
    was a member of the Grace Lutheran
    church, the Columbia Hook and Ladder
    company and the North Tonawanda
    Volunteer Firemen's Association.

    He leaves his wife, Lydia; four sons,
    Staff Sergeant Lewis C Sommer, of Nashville,
    tenn: Sergeant John Frrederick Sommer, of
    Fort Jackson, S S; Corporal Arthur G Sommer,
    of Camp Adair, Ore., and Gerald E Sommer,
    at home' a daughter, Venorma, at home; a
    grandchild; two brothers, Alfred G Sommer,
    of Pittsburgh, and Herman B Sommer, of
    North Tonawanda, and two sisters, Mrs.
    William Glenn of Central Square, N Y and
    Mrs. Frederick Zaggle, of North Tonawanda.

    Funeral arrangements will be announced as
    soon as word has been received from his
    sons in the armed forces.

    MRS. MAGDELENA SOMMER
    Mrs. Magdelena Sommer, 81 years old, died at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at her home, 214 Falconer street, after a week's illness. Mrs. Sommer was a life-long and beloved resident of North Tonawanda. Surviving are three sons, Charles L. and Herman B. Sommer of North Tonawanda and Alfred G. Sommer of Pittsburgh and two daughters, Mrs. Clara Glenn of Oneida and Mrs. Catherine Zaggel of North Tonawanda. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the late residence. Rev. C. L. Braun will conduct the services and interment will be in Sweeney cemetery. Other survivors are three brothers, John Hartel, Pasadena, Cal., and Henry and William Hartel, Buffalo; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Lapp, Sumas, Wash. Mrs. Elizabeth ******, Watkins Glenn, Mrs. Kate Bush, North Tonawanda, and Miss Marie Hartel, Buffalo, and 17 grandchildren.

    Rites for Former North Tonawanda Man to Be Held Tomorrow
    North Tonawanda, Dec. 7 - The funeral of Ernest Deutschmann, 82, a resident of North Tonawanda for nearly 60 years, who died yeaterday at the home of his daughter Mrs. George Kohler, in Elma, N.Y., will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Lon Barret , 50 Bryant street. The Rev. Clarence A. Braun, superintendent of the Lutheran orphanage and former pastor of Grace Lutheran church in North Tonawanda, will officiate and interment will be in the Sweeney cemetery. Mr. Deutschmann was born in Germany. He came to America at the age of 22 and located in Tonawanda, where he continued his residence until a few months ago, when he went to Elma to live with his daughter. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Kohler and Mrs. Charles L. Sommer of North Tonawanda and a brother Herman, of North Tonawanda.

    Ernest married ZAGGEL, Dorothea Charlotte in 1883 in New York.
