    A very pretty wedding was solemnized
    Friday evening when Miss
    Katherine Shields, daughter of Mr.
    and Mrs: J. E. Shields, of Sixtyeighth
    street, was married to Hugh
    8hipston, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred
    Shipston, of Spruce avenue. The
    Rev. S. W. Michell, uncle of the
    bride, officiated at the ceremony,
    which was at the home of trie
    bride's parents.
    The bride wore a coral floorlength
    gown and her flowers consisted
    of a corsage of gardenias and
    HUes-of-the-valley.
    Miss Marion Clifton, her attendant,
    chose a frock of beige and her
    corsage was of gardenias.
    The bride's mother wore a gown
    of navy blue, with a corsage of gardenias
    as did the mother of the
    groom.
    After a short motor trip, Mr. and
    Mrs. Shipston will make their home
    in Eighty-fifth street.
    Entertaining for the bride were
    Miss Marion Clifton and Mlss»Henrletta
    Macey, at a personal and
    kitchen shower, and Mrs. Ben Light,
    with a crystal shower.

    Mrs. Mary Edith Shipston,
    72, of 378' Spruce Ave., died
    today (June 21, 1961) at Mt.
    St. Mary's Hospital after a
    prolonged illness.
    Mrs. Shipston was born in
    Pelham township, Ont. and
    had been a resident Of this
    city'for the last 50 years. She
    was a member of the Epiphany
    Episcopal Church, Grandmothers
    Club, Ladies Auxiliary
    of the Spanish-American
    War Veterans, and the Dudley-
    Donnelly Relief Corps.
    She is survived by her husband,
    Fred Shipston, this city;
    three sons, Hugh and John
    Shipston, this city, and Price
    Shipston of Akron, Ohio; a
    brother, John Smith, this
    city; a sister, Mrs. William
    Cygnor, Eest Aurora and sev*
    en grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be
    held at the Gridley Funeral
    Home Friday at 1:3Q p.m. by
    Rev. John E. Wickenden. Burial
    will be in Fonthill Cemetery,
    Fonthill, Ont.

    Mrs. Hannah Shipston,
    Passes at'Her Home.

    Mrs. Hannah Shipston, 85 years old,
    resident of Niagara Falls for many
    years, died at her home. 4002 Carrol
    avenue, early today, following a brief
    Illness. The funeral will be held from
    the family home Monday afternoon at
    2:30 o'clock, the Rev. David Henry
    Weeks officiating. Burial wiU be in
    Riverdale cemetery.
    Mrs. Shipston was* born In MorJey,
    Yorkshire, England, and came to this
    country when she was young. She had
    won for herself a host of friends during
    her long residence In Niagara Falls.
    Her husband, the late Thomas Shipston,
    died a number of years ago. Mrs.
    Shipston was a member of the Church
    of the Epiphany and was held In high
    esteem throughout the community. She
    was injured recently when she tripped
    over a carpet and' fell in her home.
    She Is survived by one daughter,
    Miss Jane Shipston, this city, and five
    sons, Fred, Clark and George Shipston,
    of this city; Edmund Shipston, of
    Youngstown, and Albert Shipston, of
    New York City.
