    Town of Cambria - David R. Schendel died suddenly at home, on Tuesday February 7, 2006 at the age of 60. He was born on April 19, 1945 at St. Mary's Hospital in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Robert G. and Marion M. (Lindhurst) Schendel. He was a 1962 graduate of Wilson High School and received an Associates Degree from Erie Community College. Dave was employed as a tool and die maker for 35 years at Harrison Radiator, retiring in 1999. He was also the owner of Ridgeview Plumbing & Heating, a family business he took over in 1983. Dave was an exceptional musician, who not only played several instruments, but also built them. For many years he was a member of the country band, "The Stagehands." He was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Newfane, a former member of the Cambria Volunteer Fire Company and the Niagara County Motorcycle Club. Dave enjoyed spending time golfing and camping, and was an avid reader. He was able to spend his retirement traveling the country with his wife, visiting friends and family. His most favorite time was spent being "Papa" to his grandchildren. David is survived by his wife of 33 years, Barbara (Upton) Schendel; his children, Corrie (Michael) Murray of Newfane, Kevin (Nina) Schendel of Annapolis, MD, and Kelly (Clay) Fritsch of Houston, TX; his grandchidlren (sic), Matthew, Zachary, and Elisabeth Murray; a brother, Brian (Jackie) Schendel of Tioga Center, NY; two sisters, Bonnie (Ed) Fritsch of Houston, TX and Brenda (Jerry) Hurtgam of Ransomville; his aunt and uncle, Norman (Norma) Seabert of Lockport; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Jean Upton of Newfane. Friends may call Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 11 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Wayne Jagow officiating. Burial will follow in the North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd., Town of Cambria. Schendel, 59, of 3682 Ridge Road died yesterday (June 13,1983) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a lengthy illness; Born in the Town of Cambria, he owned and operated the former Paul Bluhm Farm at his address for the last 18 years. He also owned and operated Ridgeview Plumbing and Heating and ran a vegetable stand at the North Tonawanda and Niagara Falls markets for 15 years under the name Schendel Farms. A member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in North Ridge, he was on the church's Board of Elders for 12 years and in the church's adult choir for several years. He was a member of the Lutheran Laymen League for 20 years, the ABC Wilson Businessmen Bowling League on Townline Road for 20 years, the Niagara County Cooperative Extension in Lockport, and was involved in the construction of the St. Peter School and gymnasium. Survivors include his wife, Marion (Lindhurst); his father. George Schendel of Lockport; two sons, David of Lockport and Brian of Apalachian, (sic) N.Y.; two daughters. Mrs. Jerry (Brenda) Hurtgam of Ransomville. and Bonnie, at home; a sister, Mrs. Norman (Norma) Seabert of Lockport; and seven grandchildren. He was the son of the late Pearl (Bluhm) Schendel. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, North Ridge, with the Rev. David Musall officiating. Burial will be at North Ridge Cemetery.     MARION M. SCHENDEL
    Cambria - Marion M. Schendel, age 84 of Ridge Rd. was called to her heavenly home on Sunday June 12, 2005 in the Lockport Memorial Hospital, under Hospice Care, after a long illness. Marion was born May 12, 1921 in the Town of Lewiston, NY, the daughter of the late Herman and Helena (Jacobs) Lindhurst. She graduated from Lewiston High School and Kelly's Business Institute and worked as a secretary for LAUR and MACK Construction Co. in Niagara Falls for several years. Marion married Robert G. Schendel on October 30, 1943 and joined him in the operation of the family farm. She sold produce at the North Tonawanda and Niagara Falls Markets for many years. Marion was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Peter's Lutheran Church at North Ridge. She served her Lord as a Sunday School Teacher, church secretary, as president of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, and as a choir member. She was also a member of the Sanborn Friendship Club. Her Church, family and friends were most important in her life. Marion was predeceased by her husband Robert on June 13, 1983 and a brother, Arnold (Velma) Lindhurst. She is survived by her children, David (Barbara) Schendel, Brenda (Jerry) Hurtgam, Brian (Jackie) Schendel, and Bonnie (Edward) Fritsch; her grandchildren, Jeffrey (Harmony) Hurtgam, Carrie (Michael) Murray, Jay (Cassandra) Hurtgam, Kevin Schendel, Kelly (Clay) Fritsch, Jodie (Todd) Hess, Jennifer and Amy Schendel; her great-grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary, Emma, and Abigail; a sister-in-law, Norma (Norman) Seabert; and several nieces and nephews.     N. Y.. was the scene of a beautiful
    autumn wedding, when Miss Marion
    Lindhurst, daughter of Mr. and
    Mrs. Herman Lindhurst, of Lewiston,
    became the bride of Mr. Robert
    Schendel. son of Mr. and Mrs.
    George Schendel, of the Ridge road
    The bride, who entered the
    church on the arm of her father,
    was lovely in a white satin gown
    made on princess lines, buttoning
    down the back to the waist and
    ending in a long train. The sweetheart
    neckline was formed of
    Chantllly lace while the long sleeves
    were fashioned with similar lace
    inserts. Her fingertip illusion veil,
    edged with lace, fell from a coronet
    of orange blossoms. She carried a
    prayer book arrangement of white
    roses, the gift of the bridegroom
    and wore a double strand of pearls.
    The maid of honor, Miss Marjorie
    Schultz, wore gold moire taffeta,
    styled with long fitted torso, bouffant
    skirt and sweetheart neckline,
    and carried a bouquet of orchid
    pom-poms. The bridesmaids
    Levina Simmons. cousin of the
    bride, and Mrs. Glenwood Moeller.
    wore similarly styled gowns of rose
    and violet, respectively. Both carried
    bouquets of gold and bronze
    pom-poms. Each wore a single
    strand of pearls. The Junior brides-
    maids. Miss Norma Lindhurst, niece
    of the bride, and Miss Norma
    Schendel, sister of the bridegroom,
    wore matching gowns of deep aqua
    copies after the bridesmaids'. Each
    wore a gold locket, the gift of the
    bride, and carried a colonial bou-
    quet of pink roses and white pom-
    poms.
    Mr. Myron Behnke attended as
    best man and the ushers were Mr.
    Arnold Lindhurst, brother of- the
    bride, and Mr. Glenwood Moeller.
    The mother of the bride wore blue
    velvet with black accessories, while
    the mother of the bridegroom wore
    plum velvet with matching accessories.
    Both wore corsages of yellow
    and white pom-poms. The grand-
    mother of the bride, Mrs. William
    Lindhurst, wore black crepe with
    black accessories. The grandmoth-
    ers of the bridegroom, Mrs. Martha
    Peter wore black crepe with black
    accessories and Mrs. Paul Bluhm
    wore wine velvet with matching
    accessories. Each wore a corsage of
    gold and orchid pom-poms.
    The church was appropriately
    decorated with flowers of autumn
    hues.

    Former Manager Of Farm Dies
    Herman J. Lindhurst, 81 of Estes Place, Ransomville, died Friday, (April 30, 1965) at Ransomville General Hospital. Born in the Town of Lewiston, March 17, 1884, Mr. Lindhurst had been manager of the Kelly Fruit Farms in Lewiston for 43 years. Just before his retirement, he served as custodian for the Lewiston-Porter School District for five years. A resident of Ransomville for the past 14years, he had served on the St. Peter's Lutheran Church Council for the past nine years, and also served on the new church building committee. Mr. Lindhurst is survived by his widow, Mrs. Helene Jacobs Lindhurst; a son, Arnold Lindhurst of Lewiston; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Schendel of Lockport; two brothers, Fred Lindhurst of Ransomville and Elwood of Youngstown and three sisters, Mrs. Richard Whitt of Ransomville, Mrs. Herman Doeblar (sp.) of North Tonawanda and Mrs. Stanley Forsey of Niagara Falls. He is also survived by five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.     CAMBRIA - Helene A. Lindhurst, 100, of Ridge Road, died Thursday (July 28,1988) at home. Born in Cambria, she moved to Lewiston after her marriage to the late Herman J. Lindhurst. She assisted her husband in managing fruit farms for the J.W.H. Kelly Farms for 40 years until the farm was sold. In the Tri-County News, a Lockport area newpaper (sic), in January 1986, she reminisced: "Saturday was chicken day," Mrs. Lindhurst said. "I always prepared four for the Kelly's Sunday dinner and two for our family. The peaches were graded by another crew of workers, and then loaded in Lewiston and shipped green as grass to Pittsburgh. We had lots of hobos, and I never refused them something to eat." She and her husband moved to Ransomville after retiring in 1951. They lived there for 15 years until her husband's death in 1965, when she moved back to Cambria. Mrs. Lindhurst was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church at North Ridge, where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She was also a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She is survived by a son, Arnold Lindhurst of Lewiston; a daughter, Marion Schendel of Cambria; and five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lindhurst was the daughter of the late Frederick and Whilhelmina (sic) (Erck) Jacobs and sister of the late Rachel Seefeldt, Bertha Simmons, Emma Strablow, Ella Dobbertean Sack, Frank Jacobs, William Jacobs and Albert Jacobs.     RANSOMVILLE -Funeral
    services will be conducted for
    Paul A. Bluhm, 85, a retired
    Town of Cambria farmer, at
    2:30 p.m. Thursday at the
    family residence, Ridge Road.
    Mr. Bluhm died Saturday
    (Jan. 19, 1963) at Inter-Community
    Memorial Hospital,
    Newfane, after a week's illnessi
    The family, said donations
    to the Niagara County
    Heart Chapter or to the building
    fund of St. Peter's Luther*
    an Church at North Ridge
    are acceptable as memorial
    tributes.
    Rev. Carl Oldach of St
    Peter's Church will officiate
    at services. Burial will be in
    North Ridge Cemetery.
    Mr. Bluhm was a memfoer
    of St. Peter's Church and a
    25-year member of the Farm
    Bureau. He was a familiar figure
    at Niagara Falls City Market
    where he operated a stall
    until retiring six years ago.
    Born in Germany, Nov. 16,
    1877, Mr. Bluhm was one of
    15 children. He came to this
    country at the age of 6 and
    was a resident of this area for
    almost 80 years.
    Surviving are his widow,
    Ida Schrader Bluhm; a daughter,
    Mrs. George Sehendel, at
    home; two sisters, Mrs. Otis
    Murray, Olcott, and Mrs.
    Ernest Miller, Lockport; two
    brothers, John Bluhm, Niagara
    Falls, and August
    Bluhm, North Tonawahda;
    two grandchildren and six
    great-grandchildren.

    86, of 3682 Ridge Road, died
    Thursday (April 8, 1965) at Inter
    - Community Memorial Hos-
    pital, Newfane, after a sixweeks
    illness.
    Born Oct. 7, 1878 in the Town
    of Cambria, she was the daughter
    of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis
    Schraeder. She had spent the
    past 54 years at the Ridge Road
    address.
    She had been an active member
    of St. Peter's Lutheran
    Church.
    Her husband, Paul Bluhm,
    died in 1963.
    Surviving are a daughter,
    Mrs. George Schendel of Ride
    Road; two brothers, William
    and Fred Krull of Owosso,
    Mich.; two grandchildren and
    six great-grandchildren.
    Friends may call at the Haralson
    Funeral Home, South Lake
    Street, Ransomville, "from 2 to
    5 and 7 to 9 p.m., beginning tomorrow.
    Funeral services will be held
    at 2 p.m. Monday from St. Peter's
    Lutheran Church, N o r th

    LEWISTON. Oct. 24.—Mrs. Minnie
    Jacobs, 87 years old, died yesterday
    at the home of her daughter, Mrs.
    Herman Lindhurst, two miles east of
    Lewiston on the Ridge road.
    Mrs. Jacobs leaves three sons, Frank
    and William, of Lockport, and Albert,
    of Wilson: four daughters, Mrs. John
    Simmons, of RansomvtUe, Mrs. Fred
    Strablow, of Voungstown, Mrs. Charles
    Dobbertean. of Niagara Falls, and
    Mrs. Herman Lindhurst, of the Town
    of Lewiston; two sisters, Mrs. Fred
    Behnke, of Cambria, and Mrs. George
    Dean, of Niagara Falls, 26 grandchildren.
    36 great-grandchildren and
    three great great-grandchildren.
    The funeral will be held Saturday
    at 2 p. m. from the home of the
    daughter and at 2:30 o'clock from
    8 t Peter's Lutheran church at North
    Ridge. Interment will be In North
    Ridge cemetery.
    Mrs. Jacobs was born in Germany
    and had resided In this country for
    62 years. She was the widow of Fred
    Jacobs, a former well known farmer
    of this district For the past 20
    years she had made her home with
    her daughter. She was a member
    of St. Peter's Lutheran church at
    North Ridge.
