    Notes:

    Howard E. "Ted" Shipston, age 69 of Ransomville, died Tuesday July 26, 2016 at his home under the loving care of his family, after a lengthy illness.


    Ted was born February 19, 1947 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, the son of the late Howard T. and Mary Ruth (Connolly) Shipston. He was raised in Youngstown and was a 1966 graduate of Lewiston-Porter High School. After graduation he was inducted into the U.S. Army in August and was honorably discharged as a SP-4 in June of 1968. Ted served in Vietnam as a Radio Operator with the 588th Signal Company and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He owned and operated Shipston Hardware in Youngstown for 5 years before establishing Shipston Sales which he ran for 30 years.


    Ted was a member of the V.F.W. Lake Ontario Post #313 in Youngstown, a member of the 3-F Conservation Club, and the National Rifle Association. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved wildlife and the outdoors.




    He is survived by three daughters, Kristel (John) Stevens, Charity (Frank) Tantillo, and Kelly (Brad) Pfalzer; a sister, Sandra Bedell; his grandchildren, Kody, Samantha, R.J., Hunter, Kailey, Caden, and John Marshall; two nephews, David and Brett; two nieces, Bonnie and Molly; and his former wife, Bonnie Zulke.




    Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Sunday, July 31, from 1 - 4 pm. A Memorial Service will begin at 4:00 pm in the funeral home with the Rev. Charles Lamb officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, VA Regional Office, 130 S. Elmwood Avenue, Ste 620, Buffalo, NY 14202 or to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.

    Miss Zulke, a graduate of Lewiston-Porter
    High School, attended Virginia Intermont College,
    Bristol, Va. Previously a stewardess
    with Mohawk Airlines, she is now employed
    in the Falls Street office of the Manufacturers
    and Traders Trust Co.
    Mr. Shipston is also a graduate of Lewiston-
    Porter High School. A veteran of two years
    service with the U.S. Army, he served in
    Vietnam before returning-to this country last
    June. He is now in partnership with his father
    in the operation of Shipston Sales, Youngstown.

    THE BRIDE was given in.
    marriage by her father. She
    wore a gown of hght ivory
    English net and silk-faced
    peau de soie fashioned with
    Juliet sleeves, jewel neckline,
    fitted bodice and dome-shaped'
    skirt ending in a removable
    cathedral train. The gown
    was trimmed with re-embroidered'
    alencon lace on the
    bodice and sleeves and at the
    __ center front and train. Her
    headpiece was a camelot
    crown of re-embroidered lace
    trimmed with organza bows
    She carried a spray of cymbidium
    orchids.
    Her maid of honor was Miss
    Cheryl Mies. Bridesmaids
    were Miss Barbara Soboleski
    and Miss Cheryl Dee Denny,
    Ransomville. Bonnie Bedell
    was the flower girl. The attendajits
    were similarly attired
    in floor length gowns of
    Cluny lace and karate with
    ivory bodices and moss green
    skirts, and satin belts and
    bows.
    Matching moss green
    curls tied with ivory satin
    knots ""were their headpieces.
    They carried baskets of fall
    flowers. -

    JACK WISBY JR. .was the
    best man. Ushers were Robert
    Shortz, Barry Allen and
    Frank Lutts, all of Youngstown.
    A reception after the ceremony
    _ was held at the 3-F
    Club in' Lewiston.
    After a motor trip to the
    West the couple will reside in
    Youngstown.

    Passes at'Her Home.

    Mrs. Hannah Shipston, 85 years old,
    resident of Niagara Falls for many
    years, died at her home. 4002 Carrol
    avenue, early today, following a brief
    Illness. The funeral will be held from
    the family home Monday afternoon at
    2:30 o'clock, the Rev. David Henry
    Weeks officiating. Burial wiU be in
    Riverdale cemetery.
    Mrs. Shipston was* born In MorJey,
    Yorkshire, England, and came to this
    country when she was young. She had
    won for herself a host of friends during
    her long residence In Niagara Falls.
    Her husband, the late Thomas Shipston,
    died a number of years ago. Mrs.
    Shipston was a member of the Church
    of the Epiphany and was held In high
    esteem throughout the community. She
    was injured recently when she tripped
    over a carpet and' fell in her home.
    She Is survived by one daughter,
    Miss Jane Shipston, this city, and five
    sons, Fred, Clark and George Shipston,
    of this city; Edmund Shipston, of
    Youngstown, and Albert Shipston, of
    New York City.
