    LOCKPORT —
    Betty Hare passed away on August 9, 2013, seven weeks shy of age 92. She was born on October 1, 1921 in Middleport, NY.
    She was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Waves, being discharged in 1945. She was a General Motors employee for six years, until marrying her husband, Henry Hare (deceased), who retired from the U.S. Air Force. Betty was the religious education director for the base chaplain at Lockbourne AFB in Columbus, OH. She was a Red Cross volunteer for 10 years. She also served on the Glendale Library Board for 10 years. Betty was a past President of the Glendale Women's Club and an active member since 1979. She has been in the Order of the Eastern Star since 1953. She was an active member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
    She is survived by her brother, John Dutcher of Eugene, OR; and her son, Tracy Hare of Phoenix, AZ.
    Her Celebration of Life will be held on October 1, 2013, her birthday, at 10:00 AM in the retirement home where she lived and was loved, The Montecito, 17291 N. 87th Ave., Peoria, AZ 85382. Burial will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of AZ, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
