Raymond A. Behrens, 84, of Lewiston, NY passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Niagara Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on September 23, 1938 he was the son of the late Kenneth R. and Jane E. (Porter) Behrens. Raymond entered the United States Army on October 1, 1961. He was a parts supply specialist/mechanic with the 969th Engr Bn. He was honorably discharged as a SP4 on August 9, 1962.
After serving his country, Raymond continued his career in the automotive industry, working for Cy's Stewarts Auto parts, Wrights Corners Auto parts and lastly at NAPA auto parts. When he wasn't working, he was a avid reader, classic car & train enthusiast and enjoyed traveling. Above all his number 1 concern was family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who was very compassionate and kind. He also had a great sense of humor to top it all off.
He is survived by his children, Shelly (Jack) Shipman and Robert R. Behrens; grandson, James (Lyndsay) Blasko, great-grandchildren, Patrick and Kory. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Carol (Anderluh) Behrens.
Friends may call Monday, March 6th from 5-8PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 24th Street, Niagara Falls, NY, where Military Honors will be held at 7:00PM. Burial in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY will take place at the convenience of the family.

A WEDDING TRIP to Washington, B.C.,
Is being taken by Raymond Arthur Behr-
ens and his bride, the former Miss Carol
E. Anderluh, who were wed Saturday
(May 20, 1961).
Rev. Alan J. Perrine officiated at a 3
p.m. ceremony at Riverside Presbyterian
Church.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and -
Mrs. Henry Anderluh, 23rd Street. The
bridegroom Is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Kenneth Behrens, 25th Street.
Mrs. Franklin Schweitzer was organist
for the wedding ceremony, and soloist was
John Culbert.

ESCORTED to the altar by her father,
the bride wore a gown of Chantilly lace
over taffeta enhanced with sequins and
pearls. It was styled with a Sabrina neckline,
long sleeves and bouffant skirt of
ruffles that extended into a chapel-length
train.
The bride's bouffant veil of silk illusion
was held by a coronet of pearlized orange
blossoms, and she carried a cascade bouquet
of white gladioli centered with orchids.

MISS KATHLEEN BEHRENS was maid
of honor, attired in a floor-length gown
of blue flowered nylon organza. A matching
color headpiece of roses, held a flyaway
veil, and her flowers were a cascade
arrangement of white pompons tipped with
azalea pink.
The bridesmaids, dressed similiarly to
the honor attendant in pink and carrying
white pompons tipped with blue, were the
Misses Nancy Mueller and Patricia Duffy.
Kenneth Wakefield, of Buffalo, was best
man, and ushers were Ronnie Anderluh,
the bride's brother; and Joseph Fantrazzo.
RECEIVING GUESTS at a reception
Saturday evening at the Plantation Restaurant,
the mother of the bride wore an
orchid print ballerina-length dress accented
with iridescent sequins, and a corsage
of cymbidium orchids.
The mother of the bridegroom selected
a blue lace and chiffon ensemble, and
wore a corsage of pink cymbidium orchids.
When they return from their honeymoon,
the newlyweds will be at home at
2746 Niagara Street.
