    NORTH TONAWANDA—Two local men died in
    separate incidents.
    They were Arnold Smoyer, 55, of 755 Nash Road
    and Arnold Wollenburg Jr., 32, of 1408 E. Robinson
    St.
    Mr. Smoyer was found
    hanging in the basement of
    his home shortly before
    noon by his wife, police
    said. Niagara County Coroner
    Dr. John C. Kinzley has
    withheld a death certificate
    pending an investigation.
    Mr. Smoyer was a lifelong
    resident of this city and was
    formerly employed by the
    Buffalo Bolt Co. until the
    company, disbanded several
    years ago.
    Mr. Wollenburg was found
    in his bed by his mother at
    3:59 p.m. with a .22 caliber

    Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Alfred
    Stoeckel. Buffalos; and four
    grandchildren.
    Rev. Russell R. Myer of.
    St. Peter's United Church of
    Christ will conduct funeral
    services at 2 p.m. Wednesday
    at the Fretthold Funeral
    Home. Burial will be
    In Elm Lawn Cemetery.

    Mrs. Anna R. Gaul, 82, of 364 Falconer street, died this morning in the DeGraff Memorial hospital. She was born in North Tonawanda and, with the exception of 36 years, spent in Michigan, she had resided here all her life. She leaves four daughters, Mrs. Warren Smoyer of North Ridge, Mrs. George Reeves and Mrs. Otto Flateau of North Tonawanda and Mrs. Morris McCarthy of Tuckahoe, N. Y.; six sons, Arthur of Flint, Mich., Henry of Seattle, Wash., Fred of Sanborn, Wis., Chales and Alfred of Detroit and Walter of North Tonawanda; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence, where they will be private, and at 2:30 o'clock at the St. Matthew's church. Rev. Carl Frenkenstein will officiate. Burial will be in Elmlawn.
