    Notes for Elvin Bruce Hilsenbeck:
    Elvin worked for Clarence Hall when he got married. In July, 1936, they moved in with Alva Bomar. He
    and Zella, then moved in with his brother, Elmer, and after Barbara was born , they moved back in with
    Bomar's. From there, they moved to the Dowdy farm for 2 years., in 1938. Elvin got a government loan
    to buy Livestock in 1939. Lived on Empire Prairie [near King City, MO.] in 1942. Then to the
    Finkbeiner Farm, north of Rea, MO. After that, they were farming south and east of St. Joseph, Mo. for
    one year. In 1947, they bought and moved to the farm, where they now reside, about nine mile north of
    Savannah, MO.

    Elvin married BOMAR, Zella Mae on 16 Mar 1936 in St Joseph, Buchanan County, MO. Zella (daughter of BOMAR, Alva Henry and WRIGHT, Fleeta A) was born on 28 Apr 1918 in near Fillmore, MO; died on 18 Nov 2011 in Maryville, Nodaway County, MO. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    MARYVILLE, Mo. - Zella Mae Bomar Hilsenbeck, 93, of Maryville and formerly of the Whitesville, Mo., area passed away on Friday, November 18, 2011 at the Golden Living Center, Maryville.

    Zella was born on April 28, 1918 in Fillmore, Mo., to Alva and Fleeta A. (Wright) Bomar. She and her husband farmed for 51 years south of Whitesville, Mo., before moving to Maryville in 1998.

    On March 16, 1936, Zella was united in marriage to Elvin Bruce Hilsenbeck in Savannah, Mo. They spent 65 years together before his death in 2001.

    Zella was also preceded in death by her parents; three siblings, Lloyd Bomar, Lavella Rauch, and Melvin Bomar; and her son-in-law, Herb Roup.

    Zella was a homemaker; she loved to quilt, crochet, and to cook for large groups on friends and farmhands. She was a former member of the Widowed Person Group of Maryville.

    Zella dearly loved her kids, grandchildren, and was proud to be a fifth generation family.

    Left to mourn her passing are her children: Barbara L. Roup, Cave Creek, Ariz.; Henry (Beverly) Hilsenbeck, Rea, Mo.; and Betty (John) Praisewater, Maryville, Mo.; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; also numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Graveside services and burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, at the Fillmore Cemetery, Fillmore, Mo. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 21, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville.
