    ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED-Miss Ruth Marie Sullivan, whose
    engagement to Staff Sergeant R. Rountree, UJS.A. is announced by
    her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John J. Sullivan, of North avenue. The
    bridegroom-elect Is now serving with the Persian Gulf Command in
    Iran. He is the son of Mrs. Mary Rountree, of Weston avenue, and
    the late Mr. Alexander Rountree. The wedding will take place in the
    near future

    Athlete Dies
    Funeral services for John J.
    Sullivan, 62, who died yesterday
    (May 26, 1957), will be held at
    10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Rhoney
    Funeral Home and at 11 o'clock
    at Sacred Heart Church. Burial
    will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
    Mr. Sullivan had a heart attack
    at his home, 2101 North Ave.
    A native of this city, he was
    active in baseball and track during
    his youth and was a member
    of the Essex Club, a former semipro
    baseball team.
    He was formerly employed at
    the old Cliff Paper Co. and for
    the last 25 years at Kimberly-
    Clark, where he was head shipper.
    Surviving are his wife. Veronica
    Sullivan: two daughters, Mrs.
    James Dowling and Mrs. Alex
    Rountree: five sisters, Mrs. Peter
    Crotty, Mrs. Robert Argy. Mrs.
    Winifred Beck and the Misses Ann
    and Margaret Sullivan; and three
    grandchildren.
    Mr. Sullivan was a member of
    Sacred Heart Holy Name Society,
    which will recite the Rosary at
    8:15 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral
    home.

    Funeral Services for Former Ballroadman
    to Be Held Saturday!
    Funeral services for John J. Sullivan,
    80, of 2239 Ontario avenue,
    who died this morning in Saint
    Mary's hospital altera brief .illness,
    will be held'Saturday morning at
    8:30,o'clock&rom the home and at
    9 o'clock in Sacred Heart church.
    Interment will be in Fairview cemetery,
    Niagara Falls, Ont.
    A retired railroadman, Mr. Sullivan
    was born in Ireland and had
    been a resident of this city for the
    last 47 years. He was a member of
    .the Order of Maccabees. Surviving
    are eight children, Mrs. B. L. Campbell,
    of Oakland. Fla., Mrs. Robert
    E. Argy, Mrs. Peter J. Crotty, Mrs.
    R. H. Beck, Miss Ann Sullivan, Miss
    Margaret Sullivan, Maurice Sullivan
    and John J. Bulllvan, Jr., all of this
    city. Thirteen grandchildren also
    survive.
