    Niagara Falls was the setting

    today of the marriage ceremony
    uniting Miss Kathleen Marie
    Rountree, daughter of Mr. and
    Mrs. Joseph P. Rountree of 2432
    Linwood Ave., Niagara Falls,
    and James Paul Walsh, son. of
    Mr. and Mrs. David Leo Walsh of
    38 Perry St., Auburn.
    The bride was given in
    marriage by her father. The Rev.
    Thomas E. Traverse, cousin of
    the bride, officiated. The Rev.
    Francis N. Ryan, CM. of Princeton,
    N.J. bestowed the papal
    blessing. Richard Walsh, brother
    of the bridegroom, and Francis
    Olscamp were altar boys.
    The bride wore a white silk
    organza A-line gown with empire
    waist, long sheer fitted sleeves
    and high collar. Rosepoint lace
    accented the neckline, sleeves,
    bodice and hemline and was
    repeated on the border of the
    chapel-length train. A forward
    effect of lace, pearls and sequins
    held her bouffant veil. She
    carried a cascade of pale pink
    rosebuds, stephanotis and ivy.
    Mrs. Russel Nixon was matron
    of. honor. The bridesmaids were
    Miss Joan Remaley and Miss
    Mary Margaret McCabe.
    Best man was Russel Nixon,
    and the ushers..were John
    Gleason and Patrick Rountree,
    brother of the bride.
    A reception was held at Hardings
    Restaurant, Creek Road,
    Youngstown immediately after
    the ceremony.
    After a wedding trip to New
    England, the couple will reside in
    Niagara Falls.

    (Webster/Niagara Falls) - Joseph Patrick Rountree died peacefully on Friday, February 5, 2010 at St. John's Home in Rochester. Joseph was born on October 18, 1915 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Alexander and Mary (Walsh) Rountree, and attended Our Lady of the Rosary Grammar School and St. Mary's High School. He married Dora Olscamp at St. Mary's of the Cataract Church on August 23, 1941. Unknown to him at the time, he was disallowed from military service in World War II as he was employed at the former Hooker Chemical Corporation in the Production of the top secret Manhattan Project. He continued working at Hooker (now Oxy Chem) as a plastics and sheet metal worker for 40 years, retiring in 1980. In 2000 he moved to Webster to be closer to his daughter and son.Joe was a member of Sacred Heart Church for over 50 years and was a past President of its Holy Name Society. He was a lifelong member of Knights of Columbus Council #247 and Council #4618 in Webster. He was a charter member of the Father Browne Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, was its Grand Marshall for the St. Patrick's Day parade in 2002.He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Dora; brothers, James (Ann Mahoney), Jack (Ruth McMahon), Alexander "Bud" (Ruth Sullivan) Rountree and sister, Ann (John) Gleason. He is survived by his son, Patrick Joseph (Susan York) of Caledonia, NY and daughter, Kathleen Marie (James) Walsh of Webster, NY. He is also survived by grandchildren, Erin, Timothy (Molly), Mark, Monica and Sarah Rountree, Brian (Sheila) Walsh and Elena (Jason) Lipsi and four great-grandchildren.The family wishes to express its special thanks and gratitude to the residents and staff of Baywinde Senior Living for their friendship, love and care for Joe. Also to the staff of St. John's Home for their wonderful and compassionate care.The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 1124 Ontario Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY on Sunday from 2-5 PM, where funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Mary of the Cataract Church, 259 Fourth Street, Niagara Falls, NY, with the Rev.     A lovely summer wedding was
    solemnized in at Mary's of the
    Cataract church Saturday morning,
    August 23, at 10 o'clock, when Miss
    Dora Olscamp. daughter of Mr. and
    Mrs. George Olscamp. of Athohrille,
    New Brunswick, became the bride
    of Mr. Joseph Rountree, son of

    Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Rountree,
    of Weston avenue.
    The Rev. Francis N. Ryan, CM.,
    of Niagara university, performed
    the wedding ceremony, which was
    followed by a Nuptial High Mass.
    Entering the church on the arm
    of her brother, the bride was lovely
    In her simple gown of ivory satin.
    with fingertip veil. she carried a
    bouquet of white mums.
    Her only attendant was her sister,

    Miss Helen Olscamp, wearing a
    gown of rose taffeta with matching
    calot of velvet Bhe carried a
    colonial bouquet of pink roses and
    blue delphinium.
    Mr. Alexander Rountree was his
    brother's best man. The ushers
    were Mr. John Gleason and Mr.
    Francis Curry.
    After the ceremony a wedding
    breakfast was served at the Marigold
    for the immediate families.
    Mr. and Mrs. Rountree left later
    for a motor trip through the New
    England States.

    cousin of the bride, officiated at the marriage
    Saturday (July 25, 1970) of Miss Kathleen
    Marie Rountree and James Paul Walsh. The
    noon double ring service took place at Sacred
    Heart Church with the Rev. Francis N. Ryan,
    CM., Princeton, N.J., bestowing the Papal

    wore an A-line gown of organza with sheet
    yoke and sleeves. Rosepoint lace trimmed
    the neckline, sleeves, bodice, skirt and train
    of the gown. A forward effect headpiece of
    beaded lace secured her bouffant veil and
    she carried a cascade of pink rosebuds,
    stephanotis and ivy.

    MRS. RUSSEL NIXON, matron of honor,
    wore a melon patterned voile gown with
    scoop neck, short puff sleeves and gathered
    skirt. Her headpiece of daisies trimmed with
    Venise lace secured her veil and she carried
    a bouquet of white pompon daisies centered
    with yellow Sweetheart roses.
    Wearing similarly styled gowns were the
    bridesmaids, Miss Joan Remaley in yellow
    voile, and Miss Mary Margaret McCabe in
    Nile green.
    Russel Nixon was best man. John Gleason
    and Patrick Rountree, brother of the bride,
    were ushers.
    A reception was held at Harding's
    Restaurant, Youngslown. The newlyweds are
    honeymooning in the New England states.

    Alexander J. Roundtree died In
    St. Mary's hospital this morning.
    He had been ill several weeks with
    a heart condition but was taken
    to the hospital only yesterday.
    Born in Ireland, he had lived here
    for the last 37 years. He was employed
    by. the Isco Chemical company
    as a foreman. Mr. Roundtree
    was a member of the Knights of
    Columbus.
    He Is survived by his wife Mary.
    He was the father of Mrs. John
    Gleason and Joseph Roundtree. of
    Niagara Falls, James Roundtree, of
    Lewiston; Sgt. Alexander Roundtree

    and Technical Sergeant John
    Roundtree, of the United States
    Army, He had* one grandson.,
    The funeral win be held from his
    late residence, 3407 Weston avenue.

    Mrs. Mary Rountree died today
    at her home. 2407 Weston avenue,
    after a brief illness. Born at Merritton.
    Ont. she came to this city
    40 years ago. She was the widow
    of Alexander Rountree.
    Mrs. Rountree was a communicant
    of the Sacred Heart church
    and a member of the Ladies Catholic
    Benevolent association.
    Surviving are four sons. James.
    Alexander. Joseph and John Rountree.
    and a daughter. Mrs. John
    Gleason. of this city; three brothers.
    Matthew Walsh, of Merriton.
    Ont. William Walsh, of Pontiac.
    Mich, and Thomas Walsh, of Niagara
    Falls, and two sisters. Miss
    Cecelia Walsh and Mrs. Monica
    Daley, of Merriton. Three grandchildren
    also survive.
    Funeral services will be held at
    9 a.m. Monday at the home and a
    half hour later at the Sacred Heart
    church. Interment will be in the
    Gate of Heaven cemetery.

    Mrs. George Olscamp,
    grandmother of Orleans
    County's planning director,
    Patrick Rountree, is
    celebrating her 100th birthday
    today at her home in
    Tonawanda. Mr. Rountree, an
    Orleans County official for
    several years, lives in Medina.
    Greetings have been
    received from President
    Reagan, Prime Minister
    Pierre Trudeau, Governor
    Carey and local officials
    congratulating Mrs. Olscamp
    on her 100th birthday.
    Born Sarah Keighan on
    March' 9, 1882 at Riveire du
    Loup, Quebec, she survived a
    smallpox epidemic that killed
    her mother and two sisters at
    age 11. Later her family
    survived a disastrous fire
    with only the clothes on their
    Two Sentenced, Three
    Guilty in County Court
    ALBION - Two men have
    been sentenced in Orleans
    County Court before Judge
    Paul I. Miles, court officials
    have reported.
    Eugene Roberts, 35, of 123
    Starr St., Medina has been
    sentenced on a conviction to
    attempted reckless endangerment
    in the first degree.
    Roberts, who was represented
    by attorney Michael Couture,
    has received a sentence of 60
    days in the Orleans County Jail
    along with a probation term of
    five years. '
    Fritz Kopitski, 17, of Eagle
    St., Lyndonville, one of four
    youths involved in the vandalism
    of the Village of Lyndonville's
    flag pole, has been
    sentenced on his conviction to
    d i s o r d e r l y conduct.
    Represented by attorney
    Lance Mark, Kopitski has been
    ordered to pay a fine of $50
    within seven days of sentencing.
    In other court matters, the
    re-trial of James V. Latiiigee,
    Joseph W. Lathigee and
    Gordon L Montgomery has
    resulted in a guilty verdict
    against ail three defendants.
    The three men were
    originally found guilty, but the
    State Court of Appeals, Appellate
    Division Fourth
    Department in Rochester,
    reversed the conviction and
    granted a new trial. James
    Lathigee, 24, of 20-A Village II
    Dr., Hilton was found guilty as
    charged on counts of burglary
    in the first, degree and

    while Joseph Lathigee, 29, of 9
    Alonquin Terr., Rochester was
    found guilty on charges of
    burglary in the first degree
    and possession of burglar
    tools.
    Meanwhile, Montgomery
    was found guilty of burglary in
    the first degree and criminal
    possession of burglar tools.
    Joseph Lathigee and Montgomery,
    23, of Rochester, are
    also awaiting court action of
    various weapons charges. Both
    Lathigees have been released
    on $5,000. bail and will be
    sentenced along with Montgomery,
    who is held in the
    County Jail in lieu of $10,000
    bail, on April 4. The trial lasted
    four days with Public Defender
    John Russelli representing
    James Lathigee and Montgomery
    while Joseph
    Lathigee was represented by
    attorney Roy King.

    Library will present its last
    Friday family film program
    for the season. "The Night Of
    The Grizzly" has been chosen
    to close this successful series.
    Starring Clint Walker and

    A Canadian citizen, she lives
    in excellent health with a

    attributes her endurance and
    longevity to "faith in God, hard
    work, and enjoyment of
    frequent games of cards."
    A reception, expected to
    attract 100 descendants, will be
    held next Saturday (March 13)
    at the Roadway Inn, Niagara
    Falls.
