of Utica, died Friday in
Bethesda Hospital, Bovnton
Beach, after suffering a heart
attack. The funeral will be at
8:30 tomorrow from the Matt
Funeral Home and at 9 from
St. Mary of Mt. Carmel
Church. Burial will be in Calvary
Cemetery. Calling hours
are 2 to. 4 and 7 to 9 today

16. 1981 at St. Elizabeth's
Hospital. _
He was bom in the Town of ScandaJe
in the Province of Calabria. Italy
November 1.1891, a son of the late
John and Clara
(Todere) Spina.
Mr. Spina came to
the U.S. and to Utica
as a young man
iod on-May 23^1914
was married to
Christina Ruggi-
ero who died in
1947. He was
employed as a
stone mason and
by the Sitroux
Paper co. He was
most recently
employed by the G.A.F.B. for 20
years until his retirement in 1960. Mr
Spina was a member of St. Anthony
of Padua Church and the Scandalese
Society at the Sons of Italy Lodge.
Mr. Spina is survived by three
daughters. Mrs Robert (Victoria)
Egleston of End well. NY . Mrs Lee
Greco of Utica and Mrs. John (Eva)
Russo of Huntington, Calif.; two sons.

Spina, both of Utica; four sisters in
Italy. Josephine. Francesca. Teresa
and Catherine Spina. Also surviving
are 11 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren.

o'clock at St. Anthony of Padua
Church where a Mass of Christian

Born in Scandale, Italy, ahe waa
a daughter of Victoria Ruggtero,
and the late Giuseppe Ruggiero.
About 34 years ago she came to
Utica and waa married to Mr.
Spina in 1914. She waa a member
of St. Anthony of Padua Church
and the Maria 8. S. t>i Condoleo
Society. .
Surviving, besides her husband
and mother, are two eons, John
and Sam Spina; three daughters,
Mrs. Robert Egteston, Mrs. Joseph
Greco and Miss Eva Spina, aU of
Utica; three brothers, Frank Rug*

John Talerico, ST., 71, former
resident of Utica, of 52
Kelly Rd., Cambridge, Mass.,
died Nov. 29. 1957. in his
home after a long illness.
Born Sept. 17, 1886, in San
Pietro Apostoli, Province

Italy, he was a
son of the late
Giuseppe and
F r a n c e s e s
Mazza Taleri-
co. He came to
t h i s country
and to Utica in
1907 and had
resided here
until 10 years
ago when he
moved to Cambridge. During
his residence in Utica he was
employed by various local
construction firms. He was a
communicant of the Italian
Pentecostal Assembly Church
and masried Rose De Sarro
Sept. 13, 1911. She died in
Utica Aug. 19, 1930. He married
Marv Amelio Viscone
July 12, 1937.
Besides his wife, he leaves
seven daughters, Mrs. Frank
Centolella, Mrs. James Paciello,
Mrs. Charles Barber,
Mrs. Alfred Maunz, Mrs.
Dano Monescalchi and Mrs.
Ray Gimelli, all of Utica,
Mrs. Joseph Cittadino, Brighton
Beach, Fla., and four
sons, Joseph Taierico, Long
Beach, Calif; Albert, John
Jr., and Paul Talerico, all of.
Utica; a brother, Paul Talerico,
Utica; a sister, Mrs.
Dominick Rocco, Utica; 27
grandchildren; four great-
grandchildren, and several
nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Wednesday,
time to be announced.
