    Janice M. (Paonessa) Craig, of Niagara Falls, passed away November 5, 2016 while in the loving Care of Niagara Hospice. She was surrounded by her family and friends.

    Janice was born April 27, 1957, a daughter of the late John T. and Lorraine (Mack) Paonessa of the Town of Niagara. Janice was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, graduating from LaSalle Senior High School Class of 1975. She married Robert J. Craig on September 11, 1976. Janice was a much loved employee of Teva Pharmaceuticals in North Tonawanda for nearly 30 years.

    Janice enjoyed scrapbooking, creating books for milestone events as well as books for past generations of her family. She took a yearly trip to Ellicottville for scrapbooking with her family and friends. An event she truly loved to attended.

    She had a great love for pets, not only her two resident cats, but all of the four legged family members. As her husband’s job took him to different cities, Janice enjoyed being able to visit those places and see the country. She was also an avid Buffalo Bills fan enjoying each week’s game with her family.

    In addition to her loving husband of 40 years, Janice is survived by two children, Sara Craig and Joseph (Katie Ross) and her beloved grandson, Daxton Craig; sisters, Cathy (Melvin) Wagner; Lori (Richard Drabczyk) Poanessa; brother in law, Gary (Pamela) Craig; several aunts, uncles and many adored nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, John T. Paonessa, Jr and well as her mother and father in law, James and Lucy (Scricco) Craig.

    Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4, 6-8 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, where prayers will be said Thursday at 10:45 AM followed of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 in St. Vincent de Paul Parish (Saint Leo’s site). The interment will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston.

    Flowers are graciously declined. Memorial donations can be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 or to the Make a Wish Foundation of WNY at www.wish.org.

    Lorraine M. (Mack) Paonessa, 80, of Third Avenue, entered into rest at Mount St. Mary's Hospital on Friday February 12, 2010 while receiving care from Niagara Hospice and surrounded by her loving family. Lorraine was born October 2, 1929, the daughter of the late James Mack and Marie (Rivers) Dury and step daughter of the late Philip Dury. She married the love of her life, John T. Paonessa on June 26, 1947. They shared 61 years together until his death in March 2008. She loved spending time with her family and was affectionately known as "Grama Fries" by her great grandchildren due to her Saturday lunches of Burger's and Fries at Gram's. Lorraine was an avid bowler. She was the secretary of the Tuesday Ladies Trio bowling league for over 30 years. She was named the secretary of the year for the Niagara Falls Women's Bowling Association in the early 1970's. Along with her husband, she helped to start an adult/youth bowling league which offered a savings bond to all the children along with helping to teach them bowling.She is survived by her children, John Paonessa, Jr. of Niagara Falls, Cathy (Melvin) Wagner of Ransomville, Janice (Robert) Craig of Niagara Falls and Lori (Richard Drabczyk) Paonessa of North Tonawanda; her brother, Robert (Nancy) Mack; her sister, Beverly (Rodney) Kcuik of Lexington, NC; sisters-in-law, Beverly Mack of Niagara Falls, Amy (late Dominick) Paonessa of Coos Bay, OR; grandchildren, Dawn (Joseph) Cala, Rene (James) Perry, Melanie (John) Smeal, Jill (Brandon Blose) Wagner, Sara Craig, Joseph Craig and Amber Paonessa; 17 great grandchildren, several aunts, uncles and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by brothers, Donald, Ronald and James Mack. Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, where prayers will be said Tuesday 10 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Parish at St. Leo's. Interment will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston.
