    ENSMINGER - Ida (nee Ziehl) Ensminger, 81, of North Tonawanda, Sunday (August 30,1981) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Ensminger was a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband, Frank C. Ensminger; a daughter, Dorothy Root of North Tonawanda; three sons, La Verne (Lorraine) Ensminger of Geneva, NY., Roberta. Ensminger of Lockport and Allen (Shirley) Ensminger of North Tonawanda; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Rose Wright of Grand Island, Matilda Beiter of Niagara Falls, Doris Hosmer of North Tonawanda and Clara Schoelles of the Town of Pendleton; a brother, Louis Ziehl of North Tonawanda; several nieces and nephews. Services were held this morning at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St., at Ward Rd., North Tonawanda, Rev. Arnold Nicholson, Jr., officiated. Interment Acacia Park Cemetery. If so desired, memorials may be made to St. Martin's Lutheran Church or Niagara Frontier Spina Bifida Assoc., P.O. 50, Amherst, N.Y.

    home of the bride's mother on Old Falls
    Boulevard, North Tonawanda
    Attending the bride at the ceremony were

    late Miss Marguenta Goff Willes Ensminger
    was best man and Charles Dauman ushered
    Mr and Mrs Ensminger have four children,

    Ziehl, Ferdinand, was born in Walmore, August 28, 1867, a son of Charles and Mary Ziehl, natives of Germany. He was reared in a farm and worked in a foundry and in Gratwick's lumber yard for two years before embarking in the hardware business at Martinsville in 1891. He also conducts a coal yard and handles about 500 tons annually. In 1889 Mr. Ziehl married Gussie Croskop and their children are Edward, Lewis, Louisa and Matilda. He is a member of St Paul's Lutheran church and is a trustee of the Parochial School.

    Mrs. Augusta Ziehl, 62 years old,
    352 Niagara Falls boulevard, died
    this morning at the Deaconess hospital,
    Buffalo, following an operation.
    Mrs. Ziehl had lived in the
    town of Wheatfield and the city
    of North Tonawanda all her life.
    She is survived by a husband, Fer-
    dinand five daughters, Mrs. Cles
    son Wright of Niagara Falls. Mrs
    Roman Beiter and Mrs. lawrence
    Hosmer of Tonawanda and Mrs
    Frank Ensminger and Mrs. Carl
    Schoelles of North Tonawanda;
    thirteen grandchildren, a sister;
    Mrs. Rick Hardy, and three
    brothers, Gustav, Ferdinand and
    Edward Grosskopf, all of the Tonawandas.
    The funeral will be held
    Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock
    from the residence and half an
    hour later from the St. Martin's
    church. Rev. Theo Berner will
    conduct the services and burial
    will be in St. Paul's cemetery.

    Old Resident Dead, Carl Ziehl of Martinsville Passed Away Yesterday - Leaves Large Family.
    Carl Ziehl, aged 72 years, an old resident of the town of Pendleton died yesterday morning at his home near Martinsville. Besides his wife, Maria, he leaves five daughters, Mrs. Frederick Wurl, Mrs. William Hartwig, Mrs. G. Fleischman, Mrs. John Jaenecke, and Mrs. C. F. Goerss of this city; and five sons, John, Charles, Ferdinand, Gustav and William. Fourty-four grand children and one great grandchild survive. The deceased came to Niagara County 50 years ago and by occupation has always been a farmer. He enjoyed the respect and esteem of all who knew him. The funeral will be held from the late residence at 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.
