    GASPORT - Anthony A. Miller died Friday, Sept. 7, 2001, at his home. Born Dec. 4, 1918, in Swormsville, he was the son of Joseph and Anna (Lamm) Miller. Mr. Miller was employed as a heat-treater for Loud-Wendel Company. He was a congregant of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Wolcottsville. He enjoyed his family and working on his farm. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie E. Miller; a son, Stanley (Linda) Miller of Lockport; a daughter, Linda (Barry) Solium of Fast Hampton; seven grandchildren: and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Miller was predeceased by three sisters and two brothers; Kathryn Seefried, Lawrence Miller, Dorothy Bitterman, Florence Waters and Herbert Miller. Calling hours were observed Sunday at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home in Middleport. The Rev. Edward Meyer led a funeral service at 11 this morning at the funeral home. Burial was in Royalton Mount Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's Lutheran Church or Tri-Town Ambulance.

    Survived by her children, Stanley (Linda) Miller and Linda (Barry) Collum. Grandmother of several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also survived by nieces and nephews. 
    A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Royalton Mountain Ridge at 10:00 am, friends invited.

    GASPORT, June 21 - Funeral services for William F. Eggert, Bunker. Hill Rd., one of the best known residents of this area, were held at the Zion Lutheran church, Cayuga Dr., Niagara Falls. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Lawrence Herfurth officiated. Miss Sylvia Eggert. niece of the deceased, sang a solo with her mother, Mrs. Adelia Eggert, accompanying. Mr. Eggert was born March 12, 1887, at Bergholtz. He was a member of the Holy Ghost Lutheran Church for 40 years. He also attended the Holy Ghost Parochial school and was confirmed in the Holy Ghost church. On July 24, 1926, he was united in marriage to Ella Wienke, by the Rev. Edward Grabau, formerly of Walmore. Mr. Eggert formerly resided in. Niagara Falls, LaSalle Section and was an active member of the Zion Lutheran church, Cayuga Dr., lor 25 years. He retired .several years ago, after being employed at the Carborundum Co. for almost 40 years. He served in the Infantry in World War I for two years, and was one of the last veterans in Niagara County to return home from active duty. He is survived by his wife, Ella Eggert; one daughter, Mrs. Anthony Miller, one grandson, Stanley Miller, at home, and is a brother of Mrs. Frank Dutton and Mrs. Carl Behrent, Tonawanda: Mrs. Roland Bruss, Bergholtz and the late Mrs. Arnold Krull and the late Edward H. Eggert. He was the son of the late Anthony and Albertine Eggert. Bearers were the following nephews of the deceased; Lee Bruw, Norman Dauphin, Francis Dutton, Harold Wienke, Herbert Wienke and Walter Wienke

    BEROHOLTZ, July 8 - Funeral services will be held here tomorrow afternoon for Anton C. Eggert, 75, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs, Roland Bruss, Thursday morning. Mr. Eggert, who was bom in Buffalo, came to this village at the age of 15. He was one of the oldest members of the First Volunteer Fire company of this village and was a member of the Holy Ghost Lutheran church. Surviving are two sons, William C., of Niagara Falls, and Edward, of this village; four daughters, Mrs. Frank J. Dutton, of Tonawanda: Mrs. Arnold Krull, of North Tonawanda; Mrs. Cart R. Behrens, of Tonawanda, and Mrs. Roland W. Bruss. of this village. Services will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon from the home and at 2:30 from the Holy Ghost Lutheran church, the Rev. John Kuchenbecker officiating. Burial will be In the Holy Ghost cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Anton Eggert, two sons William of Niagara Falls, LaSalle section, and Edward of this village, 4 daughters.     Aged Bergholtz Resident Passes
    BERGHOLTZ, April 17,-Mrs. Matilda Wienke, nee Retzlaff, 74 years old, wife of Albert Wienke, died today at her home, in Cayuga road after a brief illness. She was stricken with paralysis Sunday. She was born in Campow (sic), Germany, and had resided in this village for the past 51 years. She was a member of St. James Lutheran church and the Ladies' Aid society.
    Besides her husband, she is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Edward Jagow and Mrs. William Eggert, both of Niagara Falls, Mrs. Albert Schmeichel, of North Tonawanda, Mrs. Christ (sic) Haseley, of Sanborn, and Mrs. Gustav Moll, of Bergholtz; five sons, Adolph, of Sanborn, John, Hugo and Reinhard, all of Bergholtz. and Albert, of North Tonawanda; 34 grandchildren; seven great granchildren (sic); two brothers, Fred, of Grand Haven, Mich., and Edward, of Sanborn. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p. m. from the home and at 2:30 from St. James church. The Rev. Otto Bruss will officiate. Interment will be in St. James cemetery.
