    A beautiful wedding was solemnized
    Thursday, July 5th at 6 o'clock
    in St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran
    church on Washington street when
    Miss Irene Broecker, daughter of
    Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Broecker of
    128 East Felton street became the
    bride of Edward Maerten, son of
    Mr. and Mrs, Albert. Maerten of
    Fredericka street, the Rev. Paul
    Fretthold officiating. The church
    was beautifully decorated with
    ferns and baskets of mixed flowers,
    and two arches of ferns and
    roses. The ceremony was performed
    under one of the arches.
    The bride, given in marriage by
    her father, wore a gown of white
    satin with long sleeves, and her
    veil, arranged in cap shape, was
    adorned with orange blossoms. She
    carried a shower bouquqet of white
    roses, sweet peas, and baby breath.
    Miss Alice Broecker, sister of the
    bride, was maid of honor, her gown
    being of blue uaousseline de sole
    with a pink sash. She carried a
    bouquet of talisman roses and
    sweet peas in a muff to match her
    gown. Miss Mildred Schultz acted
    as bridesmaid, wearing yellow
    mousseline de sole with a green
    sash. She carried a bouquet in
    yellow muff. Little Charline Johans
    was flower girl wearing pink
    organdie and carrying a
    'With mixed flowers.
    Raymond Maerten, brother of the
    groom, acted as best man. Arthur
    Stange was the groom's other attendant.
    The ushers were Wiiliam
    Maerten brother of the groom, and
    Henry Broecker, brother of the
    bride. Mr. Carl Koehnke played
    the Wedding March.
    Mrs. Broecker, the bride's mother,
    wore brown flowered crepe and
    a corsage of roses and sweet peas.
    Mrs. Maerten the groom's mother
    wore blue flowered silk and a corsage
    also of roses and sweet ocas.
    During the ceremony Mr. Arnold
    Johans sang "O Perfect Love" and
    "The Lord Is My Shepherd", accompanied
    by Mr. Koehnke on the
    organ.
    A wedding supper at the home of
    the bride followed the ceremony
    covers being laid for sixty at the
    U-shaped table which was centered
    with a large wedding cake decorated
    with miniature bride and groom
    under an arch. The house was decorated
    in pink and white and many
    bouquets of garden flowers.
    Mr. and Mrs. Maerten left for a
    short wedding trip. Mrs, Maerten's
    going away costume was a navy
    blue swagger suit with accessories
    to match.
    After the 9th of July they will
    make their home at 157 East Felton
    street.

    NORTH TONAWANDA — Mrs. Louise Stange
    Broecker, 82, of 2970 Lemke Drive, Town of Wheatfield,
    mother of 5th Ward Supervisor Alvin F. Broecker,
    died Tuesday (May 17, 1966) at Ransomville General
    Hospital after a long illness.
    Mrs. Broecker was a mem
    ber of St. Mark's Lutheran
    Church and a charter member
    of the Ladies Guild of
    the Church. She was a lifelong
    resident of this area. Her
    husband, Gustav Broecker
    died in 1952.
    Other survivors include another
    son, Henry F. Broecker,
    Town of Wheatfield; two
    d a u g h t e r s , Mrs. Edward
    Wheatfield, and Mrs. Robert
    (Alice) Waterstrat, Lockport;
    11 grandchildren and six
    great-grandchildren also survive.
    Funeral services will be
    conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at
    Fretthold Funeral Home by
    Rev. Loren J. Shieley of St.
    Mark's Lutheran C h.u r c h .
    Burial will be in St. Mark's
    Lutheran Cemetery, Town of
    Wheatfield.

    Christian Broecker
    Christian Broecker, seventy-seven years old, died last night at his home at No. 78 Washington street after a prolonged illness. Mr. Broecker was born in Germany. He came to America thirty-seven years ago and had lived in North Tonawanda during the past twenty-five years. He is survived by his wife, three sons, William, August and Gustav Broecker; two daughters, Mrs. Fred Buchhardt and Mrs. Fred Gath, all of North Tonawanda; one brother, William Broecker of St. Johnsburg; one sister, Mrs. Christine Hannemann of North Tonawanda; fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the late residence and at 2:30 o'clock at St. Mark's church on Washington street. Rev. Paul Fretthold will officiate and burial will be in the Frieden's cemetery at Sawyer's Creek.

    Mrs. Caroline Broecker. 85 years
    old, wife of the late Christ Broecker,
    died today noon at her home,
    78 Washington street. She was
    born in Germany. She had resided
    in North Tonawanda for t h e
    .past 47 years. Surviving are two
    daughters. Mrs. Fred Gath and Mrs.
    Fred Buchhardt; three sons, William.
    August and Gustav Broecker,
