    He worked at various industries
    prior to becoming a
    barber. For the past 11 years,
    he operated Herman's Barber
    Shop at the Beach Ridge Road
    address.
    He was a member of the
    Tonawanda Moose Lodge 2183,
    Niagara Lodge No. 375 F & AM,
    VFW Post 7545, American
    Ugion Post 1451, the Wen-
    delville Volunteer Fire Co.
    the Exempt Club of the Wen-
    delville Volunteer Fire Co. and
    was also a life member of the
    Western New York Volunteers
    Association; a member of the
    North Tonawanda Auxiliary
    Police and the Niagara County
    Auxiliary Police.
    Survivors include his widow,
    Lucile Boehnke; three sons,
    Allan, Gary and Herman
    Boehnke Jr.; and a daughter,
    Nancy Boehnke, all at home;
    his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto
    (Amelia) Boehnke of
    WhSatfield; four brothers,
    Robert C. Boehnke of Lock-

    Boehnke Jr., both of the Town
    of Pendleton, and Donald H.
    Boehnke of Huntington Park,
    Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. Glenn

    Funeral services will be held
    at the Rhoney Funeral Home
    (Pike and Jones), 5893 Hoover
    Road, Sanborn, Friday at 2
    p.m. with the Rev. David Huels
    of St. Paul's United Church of
    Christ, Wendelville, officiating.
    Burial will be in
    White Chapel Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the
    funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7
    to 9 p.m. Wednesday and
    Thursday.

    The m a r r i a g e of Miss Lu-
    cile Hoffman, daughter of
    Mr.. and Mrs. Charles Hoff-
    man of Townline Rd., to Her-

    Nash Rd., was solemnized at
    7 p.m., July 21 in St. Pauls
    Evangelical and Reformed
    Church, Wendelville. The
    Rev. Karl Kindt officiated at
    t h e double r i n g ceremony be-
    f o r e an a l t a r decorated with
    baskets of white c h r y s a n t h e mums
    and lilies and lighted
    with tall tapers in candela
    b r a .
    Charles Green played the traditional
    wedding music and accompanied
    Karl Bohnhoff who sang
    "O Perfect Love" and "Because"
    j before the ceremony, and "The
    Lord's Prayer" during the ceremony.
    The bride, given in marriage by
    her father, chose a white ballerina-
    length gown of Chantilly lace
    over satin. The bridal gown was
    fashioned with an illusion neckline
    and fitted lace bodice. A crown
    of seed pearls held the fingertip
    veil of illusion. The bride wore
    mitts and carried a colonial bouquet
    of white roses and chrysanthemums.
    Miss Elma Hoffman, sister of
    the bride, was maid of honor. Her
    ballerina-length gown of orchid organdy
    embroidered with w h i te
    over taffeta was fashioned with a
    scalloped V-neckline, l o n g torso
    waistline and a scalloped hemline.
    She wore an orchid flowered
    hat and carried a colonial
    bouquet of yellow roses and white
    chrysanthemums, offset with a yellow
    ribbon.
    The bridesmaids, Mrs. Don
    aid Richardson, Miss Lois Human,
    cousin of the bride, and Miss Jacqueline
    Awaldt, cousin of the bridegroom,
    favored outfits in yellow,
    styled like that of the maid
    of honor. They carried colonial
    bouquets of yellow roses and orchid
    chrysanthemums offset with
    orchid ribbons.
    The flower girls were Linda
    Boehnke, niece of the bridegroom
    and Janet Meyers. They wore
    dresses of orchid organdy embroidered
    with white over taffeta
    and carried bouquets of yellow
    roses and white chrysantheniums.
    Otto Boehnke Jr., brother of the
    bridegroom, was best man and the
    ushers were Robert Boehnke. Arnold
    Boehnke and Donald Boehnke,
    brothers of the bridegroom.
    The bride's mother chose an
    aqua print nylon dress with white
    accessories, while the mother of
    the bridegroom was attired in a
    powder blue linen dress with white
    accessories. Both wore corsages of
    white carnations and pink roses
    trimmed with white ribbons. The
    bridegroom's maternal grandmother,
    Mrs. William Edmister, was
    attired in a navy blue crepe dress
    with a corsage of white carnations
    and pink roses trimmed with white
    ribbons.
    A wedding reception was given
    in the Wendelville Fire Hall for
    200 guests. For traveling, the bride
    chose a blue nylon dres with white
    accessories. After a wedding trip
    to the Adirondacks, the coupkle
    are at home in Townline Rd.
    Entertaining at showers for the
    bride were Mrs. Eugene Hoffman
    and Mrs. Ezra H o f f m a n , Miss
    Elma Hoffman, Miss Lois Human,
    Mrs. Donald Richardson, and Miss

    died this morning at his home, 23
    Maple street. Born in Germany, he
    had resided in Tonawanda for the
    last 44 years. He was a member of
    the Salem Evangelical church. Sur-
    viving are a wife, Johanna; five
    sons Charles, Otto, Walter and
    Bernardt, Tonawanda, and Henry,
    Detroit; two daughters, Mrs. Paul
    Bush, Detroit, and Mrs. Robert
    Sparks, Tonawanda, and 12 grand-
    children. Funeral will be held Sat-
    urday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock
    from the residence. Rev. Walter F.

    BOEHNKE — Mrs. Johanna
    Boehnke,, 86, Saturday morning
    (Oct. 27, 1956) at the home of a
    daughter, Mrs. Alba Gulick, 19 Ma-
    ple St., Tonawanda. Born in Ger-
    many, she had lived in Tonawan-
    da 54 years. She was a member of
    Salem E. & R. Curch and the
    Gold Star Mothers. She was the
    wife of the late Herman Boehnke.
    Surviving are two daughters, Mrs.
    Alba Gulick and Mrs. Robert
    Sparks, and four sons, Charles, Ot-
    to, Walter and Bernhardt Boehn-
    ke, all of the Tonawandas. She
    was the mother of Pvt. Herman
    Boehnke, who died during World
    Wr I,, and the late Pvt. Henry
    Boehnke, who was killed at An-
    zio Beach, Italy, during World War
    II. Also surviving are 13 grand-
    children and 12 great-grandchil-
    dren. Friends may call at Hilliard
    Funeral Home, 147 Delaware St.,
    where services will be at 2 p.m.
    Monday, the Rev. Walter F. Het-
    zel officiating. Burial will be in
    Salem Cemetery.

    Albert C. Awaldt, 44 years old, 297
    Main street, yesterday morning succumbed
    to a lingering illness. He
    was engaged in the manufacture of
    birch beer. He was a member of the
    local aerie of Eagles and the Na-
    tional Hose company and Lodge No
    32 of the Woodmen of the World.
    Buffalo.
    With the exception of two years
    spent in Buffalo, Mr. Awaldt had re-
    sided in Tonawanda since he was
    six years old, coming here from Ger-
    many. He is survived by a wife,
    Viola; a son, Maynard; three daugh-
    ters, Mrs. Otto Boehnke and the Mis-
    ses Pearl and Alberta Awaldt; three
    grandsons, a father, Charles Awaldt;
    four sisters, Mrs. Fred Newman, Mrs.
    Daniel Phillips, Mrs. Charles Edin
    and Miss Anna Durwald, and a broth-
    er, William Durwald.
    The funeral will be held Wednes-
    day afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from
    the residence. Rev. Andrew Hils of
    the Salem church will conduct the
    services and interment will be at
    Elmlawn.

    Ave., a former operator of a
    nursing home, died today (Dec.
    18, 1958) in Kenmore Mercy
    Hospital after a brief illness.
    Born in Williamsville,. Mrs.
    Edmlster resided in this city
    for the greater part of her life.
    Her husband, William H. Edmister,
    died in November-1957.
    Surviving are three daughters,
    Mrs, Otto Boehnke. Mrs.
    Harry Gllcart and Mrs. Thomas
    Turtle, and a son. Maynard
    Awaldt, all of this city. Also
    surviving are three sisters,
    Mrs. Frank Webb, Grand Island,
    Mrs. Gustave Unferdross,
    this city, and Mrs. Walter
    Everett, Town of Amherst, and
    a brother, Melvin Rogers, this
    city. Fourteen grandchildren
    and 13 great grandchildren
    also survive.
    The Rev. Walter F. Hetzel
    will conduct the funeral service
    at 2 p.m. Saturday at the
    Hamp Funeral Home. Burial
    will be in Elmlawn Cemetery.
