    PENDLETON — Joan C. Spatorico (nee Luick), age 67, of Pendleton, NY, passed away, unexpectedly, on Tuesday, June 26, 2012. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on October 7, 1944, the daughter of the late Ella H. (nee Haseley) and Carl E. Luick. Joan was a City of Niagara Falls tennis champion in 1960 and a graduate of LaSalle High School in 1962. She married the late Salvatore B. Spatorico on November 15, 1969 in St. Joseph's Church. Mrs. Spatorico's pastimes included bowling, camping, fishing, spending time with her family, her trips to the casino and especially being a full time grandmother.

    Joan is survived by her loving sons, John (Kelly Skrzypek) Spatorico of North Tonawanda, NY and Thomas (Valerie Tauro) Spatorico of Pendleton, NY; six cherished grandchildren, Griffin, Austin, Paige, Samantha, Peyton and Anthony; caring brother, Paul Luick; dear brother-in-law, Anthony (Nancy) Spatorico of Columbia, SC; one nephew, Derrick Spatorico of Rochester, NY; two nieces, Paula Luick of Niagara Falls, NY and Cheryl Farsalas of Chicago, IL; dear friend of Daniel and Miriam Leone.

    The family will be present on Friday from 4-8 PM at the Spallino-AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM. Friends invited. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Joan's name to Niagara Hospice House, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY.

    exchanged marriage vows in
    St. Joseph's Church. The Rev.
    Joseph Spatorico, cousin of
    the bridegroom, officiated at
    the double ring ceremony
    Nov. 15, 1969 at 10 a.m.
    The bride, the former Miss
    Joan Cheryl Luick, is the
    daughter of Mrs. Carl E.
    Luick, 9118 Shantz Ave., and
    the late Mr. Luick. The
    bridegroom is the son of Mr.
    and Mrs. John W. Beck, East
    Falls Street.
    Wayne Luick gave his sister
    in marriage. She wore, a
    bouffant style gown of rosepoint
    lace over t a f f e ta
    fashioned with a fitted "bodice,
    sweetheart neckline, long
    sleeves and bouffant skirt
    terminating in a chapel length
    train. A petal headpiece accented
    with pearls held her
    illusion veil and she carried
    a colonial bouquet of white
    and red roses with daisies.
    Mrs. Peter Grazzini, matron
    of honor, was attired in an
    empire style gown of moss
    green velvet bodice and
    motar crepe skirt. A double
    velvet bow secured her veil
    and she carried a bouquet of
    bronze and gold mums.
    Similarly attired in gowns
    with copper velvet bodices
    and motar crepe skirts were
    the b r i d e s m a i d s : Mrs.
    Beverly Biehl and Miss Laura
    Luick. They carried bouquets
    of bronze mums and yellow
    daisies.
    Anthony Spatorico was best
    man for his brother. Ushers
    were Bruce Brun* and Paul
    Luick, brother of the bride.
    A breakfast for members
    of the bridal party and
    relatives was held at the Alps
    Restaurant and an evening
    reception was held at the
    BergholU Restaurant.

    Anthony J. Spatorico," 36, of 1013
    East Falls street, of the U. S. Merchant
    Marine, was reported missing
    In action and "presumably lost" In
    a message his wife, Mrs. Jennie
    Spatorico, of the same address, received
    on May 20, but his selective
    service board Is apparently unaware
    of his fate for on Saturday a
    mall carrier delivered a letter from
    Draft Board 581 at the Spatorico
    home In which was enclosed a blank
    to be filled In for the purpose of
    establishing Spatorlco's status In the
    draft.
    Father of two children. Spatorico
    enlisted In the merchant marine
    last February 14. At the time of his
    enlistment he had 14 years service
    in the U. S. Navy and was a member
    of the navy reserves. The telegram
    that his wife received on May
    20 was from officials of the U. S.
    Coast Guard. It did not disclose
    the ship on which he was serving.
    Mrs. Spatorico said today that she
    would Inform the draft board that
    her husband had been "killed In
    action."

    Spatorico. 36, of 1013 East Palls
    street, is missing and presumed lost
    while serving his country in the
    United States Merchant Marine, according
    to a telegram received by
    his wife, Mrs. Jennie Spatorico,
    from Vice-Admiral R. R. Waesche,
    commandant of the United States
    Coast Guard. The name of the
    ship on which he was lost has not
    been announced by authorities.
    Seaman Spatorico was born and
    educated In this city and entered
    the service of the merchant marine
    only last February 16. He had 14
    years experience as a sailor and had
    graduated as a second class fireman
    from the marine school at Hoffman
    Island, N. Y.
    Besides his wife, who Is a daughter
    of Mr. and Mrs. Salvatore Constantino,
    of this city, he leaves two
    sons, Salvatore and Anthony Spatorico;
    five brothers. Patrick, Frank.
    John. Samuel and Joseph Spatorico.
    and four sisters. Mrs. Irene Cutijar,
    Mrs. Lucy Racchione, Mrs. Rase
    Bonjavanne and Miss Sue Spatorico.

    Ella H. Luick, 89, of Ninth Street died Friday (April 15, 1994) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born March 23, 1905, in Niagara Falls, the daughter of August and Hulda (Mueller) Haseley. Mrs. Luick enjoyed collecting recipes, cooking and playing the piano. She was the wife of Carl Luick, who died in 1965. She is survived by a daughter, Joan Spatorico of Niagara Falls, a son, Paul Luick of Niagara Falls; six I grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Wayne Luick, and sister of the late Florence Loge, Sophia Allen, Elsie Rickert, Lillian Luick, Benjamin Haseley and Myron Haseley. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Monday at the Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave., where the Rev. Erwin Brese will conduct services at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
