    He is survived by his wife, Mildred K. Wittcopp of
    Clinton; son and daughter-in-law, Reverend William A.

    son-in-law, Katherine and Charles Gentry of Syracuse;
    grandchildren, Cheryl (Wittcopp) Becker of Churcttville,
    Chrystal Wittcopp of Chili and John, Ruth and Susan
    Gentry of Syracuse; one great-grandchild and several
    nieces and nephews.
    Graveside services were held October 12 at Acacia
    Park and Rest Haven Gardens in North Tonawanda and
    a memorial service was October 15 at the Martin Luther
    Home in Clinton.

    Arthur and Mildred Wittcopp,
    residents of the Lutheran Homes
    in Clinton, celebrated their 53rd
    wedding anniversary June 15.
    Mr. Wittcopp was born on Aug.
    31, 1903; his wife was born May
    24,1908. The couple were married
    at Zion Lutheran Church in
    Niagara Falls.
    The Wittcopps have two
    children, Kathryn Gentry of
    Syracuse and the Rev. William
    Wittcopp, a Lutheran minister in
    the Rochester area.
    The couple spent most of their
    married life in Niagara Falls.
    Mr. Wittcopp worked as a
    chemical operator for the DuPont
    company and Mrs. Wittcopp
    worked for the Board of
    Education in the Niagara
    Wheatfield school system.
    The couple came to Clinton in
    September 1983, when they
    moved into the Lutheran Home.
    Mr. Wittcopp currently lives at
    the Martin Luther Nursing Home
    while Mrs; Wittcopp continues to
    live at the Lutheran Home.

    Arthur A. Wittcopp, 85, of the
    Martin Luther Home died Sunday
    at the home.
    He was a native of the town of
    Niagara and a retired employee
    of the DuPont Corp. He also was
    a former farmer in the Lockport
    area. He was a member of the
    Zion Lutheran Church of
    Lockport and the Good Shepherd
    Lutheran Church in Fayetteville.
    He also was a member of the
    DuPont Retirees Club.
    He is survived by his wife,
    Mildred Shafer Wittcopp; a son,
    the Rev. William A. Wittcopp of
    Rochester; a daughter, Kathryn
    L. Gentry of Syracuse; five
    grandchildren, one great
    grandchild, several nieces and
    nephews.
    Graveside services were held
    today (Wednesday) at 11:30 a.m.
    in North Tonawanda. Memorial
    services will be Saturday at 11
    a.m. at the Martin Luther
    Home, 108 Utica Road.

    Home. Frasier-Shepardson
    Funeral Home in Syracuse is in
    charge of arrangements.

    Mildred K. Wittcopp, a native of Niagara County who had previously worked for the Niagara-Wheatfield School District and Niagara County Department of Social Services, died Tuesday (Oct. 14, 1997) in Clinton Lutheran Home.
    Mrs. Wittcopp, 89, had resided in the Syracuse area and Clinton for the past several years. She was born in Niagara County and had been a longtime resident.
    She had worked as an accounting clerk for Niagara-Wheatfield schools and then for the county Department of Social Services in Niagara Falls.
    Mrs. Wittcopp also was a life member of both Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Pendleton and Zion Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls.
    Her husband, Arthur A., died in 1988.
    Mrs. Wittcopp is survived by a son, the Rev. William A. of Rochester; a daughter, Kathryn Gentry of East Syracuse; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
    Burial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Acacia Park and Resthaven Memorial Garden, Pendleton.

    LOCKPORT, Feb. 23 - Mrs.
    Louise H. Wittcopp, 81, widow of
    Albert Wittcopp, died yesterday at
    Lockport City Hospital.
    Born in the former Village of
    LaSalle. Sept. 8, 1873, she was the
    daughter of Carl Meyers and Henrietta
    Krueger. The family moved
    to Buffalo shortly after her birth
    and she lived there until her marriage
    when she moved to. Cambria
    where her husband operated a farm
    until his death in January, 1953.
    They observed their golden wedding
    in 1952. . ,
    Surviving are a son, Arthur A.,
    Lewiston; a daughter. Mrs. A. L.
    Williams, Lockport: two brothers,
    Rudolph and Albert Meyers, Sanborn,
    and three sisters, Mrs. Leonard
    Mante, Mrs. Gustav Blank and
    Mrs. John Yaude, all'of Niagara
    Falls.
    Services will be held Friday at
    2 p.m. at the Prudden and Kandt
    Funeral Home and at 2:30 at Trin-
    ity Lutheran Church. Interment will
    be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

He was one of the first wholesale dairy farmers to supply milk to the City of Niagara Falls.

    JACOB SHAFER DIES
    Retired Farmer Was Lifelong Town of Niagara Resident.
    Jacob W. Shafer, 81-year-old retired farmer and lifelong resident of the Town of Niagara, died this morning in the family homestead in the Witmer road, where he had resided for the last 54 years. Born in the Town of Niagara on Nov. 4, 1860, Mr. Shafer attended the old Cleveland avenue school at Suspension Bridge and graduated from the Northwestern Business college at Mapleville, Ill., in 1881. He was married on April 3, 1888, to Kathleen Laur, who died five years ago. He is survived by four sons and a daughter, William J., Roy W., Lawrence R. and J. Carl Shafer, and a daughter, Mrs, Arthur Wittcopp, all of Niagara Falls, and a sister, Mrs. R. J. Brandt, of Lockport. The funeral will be held from the Redanz funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, with services at the Zion Lutheran church at 2 p.m., Burial will be in Riverdale cemetery.
