Suitor-Reitz

The marriage of Miss Alice C. Reitz
daughter of Mrs. Martha Reitz, of
Willow avenue, to Thomas H. Suitor,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Suitor,
of Sixteenth street, was solemnized
at the Church of Christ rectory at 1
p.m. on Saturday. The Rev. T. E.
Tomerlln performed the ceremony.
The bride was lovely In a pink lice
gown over taffeta, with white crepe
hat and veil and' white accessories.
She carried an arm bouquet of pink
roses, ferns and baby's breath, tied
with white tulle. Miss Evelyn Reltz,
sister of the bride, was her attendant.
She wore blue and white polka dot
chiffon over taffeta and navy blue
hat and accessories. Her corsage was
sweet peas, roses and baby's breath,
tied with silver ribbon. Duane Suitor,
brother of the groom, was best man
Following the ceremony a dinner
was served by the bride's mother. The
table was covered with a lace cloth
and centered with a wedding cake.
Those who attended were the immediate
families.
After a trip to the Thousand Islands
and Adirondack Mountains Mr. and
Mrs. Suitor will reside at 1890 Willow
avenue.

Masonic memorial services and
funeral services for Edward Suitor,
81, of 2010 Sixteenth street, who
was stricken fatally while attending
se/vices stthe First Christian church
yesterday, will be held at the Gridley
Funeral home.
Mr. Suitor was at the 11 a.m. services
at the church when he suffered
the sudden illness. He made his
way to .his car parked near the
church, but was dead when a Fire
department inhalator squad, under
(he direction of Batallion Chief Harry
Crowe arrived shortly afterward.
The Niagara River Lodge 735, F
and AM, wilt conduct memorial services
for Mr. Suitor at 7:30 p.m.
tomorrow at the funeral home. Funeral
services will be conducted by
the Rev. Jesse J. Simoson at the funeral
home at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
Mr. Suitor retired from the Niagara
Falls Power company 12 years
ago after 50 yean service. He was
a leader in affairs at the church
at Michigan avenue and Tenth street
and was serving as a deacon and
trustee at the time of his death.
He was a member of the Niagara
River lodge, a 50-year member of
Bellevue Lodge 316, IOOF, and a
member of the Juniaga club.
Born in Youngstown. Mr. Suitor
had lived* in Niagara Falls for the
last 55 years.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret,
a son. Thomas Suitor, Elmira; a sister,
Mrs. Elizabeth Hooker; three
brothers, Thomas, George H. and
Roy B. Suitor, this city. He also
is survived by three grandchildren.
Burial will be in Mt. St. View
cemetery, Pekin.

After an illness of two years, Mrs.
Edward Suitor died last night at her
home, No. 2010 Sixteenth street. A
particularly sad feature of her
death is the fact that Edward, her
twelve-year-old son, is critically ill
with diphtheria in the Municipal hos-
pital. He is not expected to recover.
During her long illness Mrs.
Suitor displayed a fortitude in bear-
ing her suffering that called forth
the admiration of her family and
friends. During the latter days of
her illness she realized that death
was near and she calmly bade
friends and relatives who called
on her good-bye. Her complete
resignation was a source of comfort
to her husband and family.
Mrs. Suitor leaves her husband
and three sons; Edward, 12 years
old, Duane, ten years old, and Thom-
as, eight years old; her mother, Mrs.
Lizzie Frank, 52 years old of Sanborn,
and Edward Frank of this city; and
her sisters, Mrs. Edward Malone
of Buffalo, Mrs. Augustus Hanke of
San Francisco, Calif., Mrs. Joseph
Percy and Miss Emma Frank, both
of this city. The funeral will be
held on Friday afternoon.

Thomas Suitor, Sr., 81, Is Called
bv Death.

Thomas Suitor, Sr.. 81 years old,
veteran retired railroad man and well
known resident, died at his home, 1627
Cleveland avenue, at 3 a. m. today.
Funeral services will be conducted by
the Rev. Z. E. Bates at 2:30 p. m. Sunday
at the home of his son, Thomas
Suitor, Jr., 1514 Cleveland avenue.
Grandsonsiand great-grandsons will act
as pallbearers. Burial will be in the
family plot in Pekln cemetery.
Mr. Suitor was born ln Quebec on
February 21, 1850. For a time he lived
in Sanborn before coming to Niagara
Falls about 30 years ago. He worked
for the New York Central railroad for
many years, serving as gate keeper at
the Second street, Lockport street and
Cleveland avenue at Whirlpool street
crossfogs. .He was retired on a pension
11 years ago.
Mr. Suitor enjoyed particularly good
health in spite of his advanced age and
news of his death came as a shock
today to his many friends here. He at-
tended church services on Sunday and
later in the day was taken ill with acute
indigestion. His condition did not cause
serious alarm and yesterday he was able
to be up and about his home. He suffered
a relapse late last night and sank
rapidly until death came early this
morning.
Mr. Suitor Is survived by his wife,
Mrs. Florence Suitor, this city; one
daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Hooker, this
city, and four sons, Thomas, Jr., Edward
and Roy B. Suitor, superintendent
of public service, this city, and George
Suitor, of Grand Rapids, Mich.
