    The bridegroom, who recently
    was discharged from the
    United States Army after having
    served for five years, is the son
    of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wneeler,
    of Olyphant, Pa.

    Sacred Heart church was the
    scene of a lovely fall wedding on
    September 29 when Miss Mary
    Catherine Beck, daughter of Mr.
    and Mrs. Russell H. Beck, of Weston
    avenue, this city, became the bride
    of Mr. Francis J. Wheeler, son of
    Mr. and Mrs. Clarence J. Wheeler,
    of Oliphant, Pa. The double ring
    ceremony was performed by the
    Rev. Father John Trulin at a Nuptial
    High Mass.
    The bride, who was given in marriage
    by her father, wore a gown of
    traditional white satin fashioned
    with a sweetheart neckline and long,
    pointed sleeves. The full skirt of net
    was appllqued with white satin and
    formed a graceful train. Her fingertip
    veil of illusion cascaded from a
    coronet headdress trimmed in
    pearls. She carried a white prayer
    book centered with an orchid surrounded
    by white rosebuds from
    which fell satin streamers.
    Miss Helen C. Argy. cousin of the

    bride, who acted as maid of honor,
    wore a bridal pink gown with a
    V-necklinc. and cape sleeves. The
    skirt was net with Inserts of taffeta.
    She wore long blue lace gloves
    matching her headdress of blue
    plumes. She carried a white satin
    muff covered with pink roses.
    Her bridesmaid, Miss Rose Mary
    Wheeler, sister of the bridegroom,
    wore an ice blue gown. It was styled
    with a lace bodice, fashioned with a
    V-neckline and cape sleeves with a
    full net skirt. She wore long pink
    lace gloves which matched her
    headdress of pink plumes and also
    carried a satin muff covered with
    pink roses.
    Lieutenant William B. Argy, cous-
    in of the bride, acted as best man.
    The ushers were Captain Robert M.
    Argy, of Brooklyn, N.Y. Sergeant
    William A. Shearer and Maurice a.
    Sullivan, both of this city.
    The mother of the bride wore a

    black crepe suit, trimmed with coral
    and matching accessories She wore
    a corsage of mixed flowers.
    Thr bridegroom's mother chose a
    sheer black dress with matching ac-
    cesssories. She also wore a mixed
    corsage.
    A delightful wedding brrakfust

    was hrld In the Orchid room of the
    Prospect House with members of
    the immediate families attending. A
    reception for relatives and close
    friends followed in the afternoon at
    the home of the brides parents,
    The attractive table, which was
    centered with a three-tier wedding
    cake was laid with a lace cloth
    made by the bride.
    The out-of-town guests present
    were from Buffalo, Olipant and
    Scranton, Pa.
    For traveling the bride chose a
    black and white wool suit with black
    accessories. she wore her bridal or-
    chid as a corsage. After a motor
    trip through New York and Penn-
    sylvania the couple will reside at
    2232 Weston avenue, this city.

    Veteran Phone Installer
    Dies After Long Illness
    An installer for the New York
    Telephone company for 36 years,
    Russell H. Beck, 2232 Weston avenue,
    died Saturday at Memorial hospital
    after a prolonged illnes. He
    was 58 years old.
    Mr. Beck was born in Dunkirk.
    Ind., and lived here since 1919
    after his discharge from the army at
    Ft. Niagara. He was a member of
    the Pioneers' club at the telephone
    company.
    Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Winifred
    Sullivan Beck, and a daughter,
    Mrs. Francis Wheeler. Lewiston.
    Funeral services will be held at
    the family home at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday
    and at 9:15 a.m. at Sacred
    Heart church. Interment will be in
    Gate of Heaven cemetery.

    Funeral Services for Former Ballroadman
    to Be Held Saturday!
    Funeral services for John J. Sullivan,
    80, of 2239 Ontario avenue,
    who died this morning in Saint
    Mary's hospital altera brief .illness,
    will be held'Saturday morning at
    8:30,o'clock&rom the home and at
    9 o'clock in Sacred Heart church.
    Interment will be in Fairview cemetery,
    Niagara Falls, Ont.
    A retired railroadman, Mr. Sullivan
    was born in Ireland and had
    been a resident of this city for the
    last 47 years. He was a member of
    .the Order of Maccabees. Surviving
    are eight children, Mrs. B. L. Campbell,
    of Oakland. Fla., Mrs. Robert
    E. Argy, Mrs. Peter J. Crotty, Mrs.
    R. H. Beck, Miss Ann Sullivan, Miss
    Margaret Sullivan, Maurice Sullivan
    and John J. Bulllvan, Jr., all of this
    city. Thirteen grandchildren also
    survive.

    John married Katherine about 1880 in Canada. Katherine was born in Jul 1861 in Ireland; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
