    Inc., Michigan at Tenth, with the Rev.

    OaKwood Mausoleum Family will

    HULL-SWAN.
    A pretty and quiet wedding was solemnized
    solemnized
    last evening when Edna.
    Louise Swan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
    Gayton H. Swan of South avenue was
    married to Bennett R. Hull, of Niagara
    Falls. Ont., by the Re.v. D. H. Weeks
    Only the families of tho bride ar.d:.
    grronr attended. Tha bride ' wore a
    going away costume of brown broad-
    cloth with picture hat to match and a
    corsage of bride's roses and pompoms
    She was attended by her sister, Mrs.
    Ellsworth Hauth of La Salle- Mr.
    Hull was attended by Ellsworth
    Hrvuth. The Swan home was prettily
    decorated in a prevailing color scheme
    of yellow and white, chrysanthemums
    and smilax being used lavishly.
    After a wedding supper Mr. and Mrs.
    Hull left on a short wedding journey
    and will be a t home in their residence,
    on Niagara street in La Salle after
    December first.

    Swan, Gayton H., was born at Niagara Falls, N. Y., March 4, 1859, a son of Frank W. Swan, for the past thirty-five years a trusted agent and messenger for the American Express Company. Gayton H. Swan attended the public schools of his native town until ten years of age, when he began his business career selling newspapers. At the age of fifteen he entered the employ of L. & S. Colt, hardware merchants, at Niagara Falls, and served that firm for three years; later he was employed by Phillips & Co. in the same business and still later was with Nice & Hinkey, at Tonawanda, N. Y., for one year. In 1880 he was appointed superintendent of the City Water Works at Niagara Falls and retained that position until 1884, when he entered the employ of George Haeberle, lumber dealer, and remained until 1886. In that year he established himself in the plumbing and tinning business, which he has successfully carried on ever since. August 21, 1881, Mr. Swan married Minnie, a daughter of his former employer, George Haeberle, and they have four children: Frank W., Lottie C., Hilda and Edna. Mr. Swan was for two years a trustee of the village of Niagara Falls and is a member of Niagara Lodge No. 81, I. O. O. F., of Niagara Falls. He is a man of strict integrity and business tact and is highly respected by all who know him,

    GAYTON H. SWAN.
    The death of Gayton H. Swan,
    which occurred on Sunday, removes
    an interesting character from the
    stage of life. Mr. Swan was particularly
    conspicuous in the activities
    of twenty years ago when he waa in
    his vigorous manhood. Identified
    with all the live issues of bis day,
    he waa regarded as a moving factor
    In community life. He was identified
    with the early history of the 42d
    Separate Company, he was active in
    the volunteer fire companies of his
    day, he was for fifteen years superintendent
    of the city's water depart*
    ment, and he served on the board of
    oducatlon and In other capacities—
    and In all these various activities
    his work was characterized by an
    energy and vigor that made for success
    and progress.
    Tho passing of Gayton Swan will
    bring Interesting roverlea to the
    minds of many of our citizens who
    were active with him in thoso days
    that are gone, and likewise it will
    bring expressions of sorrow and regret
    for Gayton Swan made many
    friends in his time who will cherish
    his memory as long as life for them
    shall last.

    Wilhelmina Swan
    Dies at Age of 91
    Mrs. Wilhelmina Swan, 91, a native
    and resident of this city throughout
    her life, died last night at the Niag
    ara Falls Memorial hospital.
    She was the daughter of the late
    George and Charlotte Haeberle, an
    old pioneer family in the city, and the
    wife of the late Gayton H. Swan.
    Mrs. Swan was the oldest member
    ot the Zion Evangelical Lutheran
    church, a life member of Flagler
    Chapter 355, Order of Eastern Star,
    a charter member of Riverdale Rebeka
    Lodge 195, and a member of
    the Ladies' Aid society of the Lutheran
    church.
    Surviving are a son, Frank G.
    Swan, Hamilton, Ont.; three daughters,
    Mrs. Charlotte E Dykstra, Mrs.
    Hilda B. Hauth and Mrs. Edna L.
    Hull; one brother, Charles E, Hae
    berle; two sisters. Miss Barbara Hae
    berle and Mrs. Carrie Padelford, all
    of this city, and six grandchildren and
    seven great grandchildren.
    Friends may call at the Dykstra
    Funeral home, 1619 Main street,
    until 1 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services
    will be at the convenience of
    the family. The Rev. Arthur H.
    Schmoyer will officiate.
