    Youngstown. Jan. 12.—The entire
    village of Youngstown has been
    plunged In sadness since Friday on
    account of the fata! accident at the
    grade crossing at Fletcher's Corners
    in which Charles Taylor, of Youngstown,
    and John Turgeon. of Lancaster,
    formerly of Youngstown were
    struck by a frelsrht train and both
    fatally injured. Taylor and Turgeon
    were coming toward Youngstown on
    the Military road when the accident
    occured. They were not discovered
    until some time later, when both
    were rushed to the hospital In Niagara
    Falls. Mr. Taylor lived about
    three hours and was conscious most
    of the time, being able, to tell hospital
    authorities who he and his companion
    were and where their homes
    were so that the families could be
    notified. The Taylor family were
    notified and hastened to the hospital,
    but Mr. Taylor died before they
    reached there. Mr. Turgeon never re-
    gained consciousness and passed away
    Saturday afternoon.
    The funeral of. Charles Taylor was
    held Sunday afternoon from St.
    John's Episcopal church. Rev. J. H.
    Sheppard- officiating. Mr. Taylor was
    born In Ransomvllle but had lived
    most of his life in Youngstown. his
    father having been lighthouse keeper
    at Fort Niagara for many years. Mr.
    Taylor attended school In Youngstown
    and after finishing school went into
    the local drug store of which E. C.
    Went was then proprietor. On Mr.
    Went's death Mr. Taylor bought the
    drug store and for many years operated
    It. He was well known and
    greatly loved In Youngstown and
    vicinity. His funeral Sunday after-
    noon was one of tho largest ever held
    in-Youngstown and a roomful of ex-
    quisite floral tributes were silent witnesses
    of the sympathy which the
    entire community extend to the bereaved
    family. Besides his wife. Ina,
    Mr. Taylor leaves five sons. Albert,
    Park. Sydney and Paul, of Youngstown.
    and Tracy, of Rochester, and
    one daughter. Irene, of Youngstown.
    Burial was in North Rldge cemetery.

    Active Church
    Worker, Dies
    YOUNGSTOWN, Aug. 22—One
    of Youngstown's best known residents,
    Mrs. Ina M. Taylor, 83, died
    yesterday (Aug. 21, 1955) at the
    home of her daughter, Mrs. Byron
    Powell, and Mr. Powell, Pletcher
    Rd., Town of Lewis ton, after a
    month's illness.
    Mrs. Taylor was born in Youngstown,
    Jan. 13, 1872,-and had lived
    here all her life. She was the wife
    of .the late Charles Taylor who died
    in January, 1926.
    Mrs. Taylor's chief interest was
    her church. She was an active!
    member of the Women's. Guild and
    the Altar Guild of St. John's Episcopal
    Church. ,Mrs. Taylor was
    one of the best known and most
    bejoved residents of ihis area. She
    had been active in church, civic
    and social affairs here for many
    "years". '
    She is survived .by four sons,
    Albert M. Taylor, Niagara Falls;
    F. Park Taylor, Milwaukee, Wis.;
    Sidney G. Taylor, San Luis, Obispo,
    Calif., and Paul G. Taylor, New
    Orleans, La. ,and one daughter,
    Mrs. Irene Powell, Lewiston, seven
    grandchildren and three great
    grandchildren.
    Funeral- services will he held
    Thursday at the Hardison Funeral
    Home, Ransomville, at 2 p.m. and
    at St. John's Episcopal Church,
    Youngstpwn, at 2:30 o'clock. The
    Rev. Albert C. French will officiate.
    Interment will be in North Ridge
    Cemetery.
