    and Mrs. Arenz lived in
    Newark, N.J. and Harbor
    Springs, Mich.
    Mr. Arenz was a
    member of the Broad St.
    Baptist Church.
    In addition to his wife.
    he is survived by
    two sons, Walter N., of
    the Town of Tonawanda,
    and David of Bantam,
    Conn., two grandchildren
    a n d two g r e a t grandchildren.

    tomorrow from 2 to 4 and
    7 to 9 p.m. at the Brunner

    Mr. and Mrs. Howard J. Arenz
    of 292 Delaware St., Tonawanda,
    will be honored on their
    golden wedding anniversary tomorrow.
    Hosts of a special dinner party
    at the Downtowner Motor Inn
    will be sons, Walter and David,
    and their wives.
    Mr. Arenz and the former Carrie
    B. Lindemann were married
    Sept. 3,1917, in First Presbyterian
    Church, Syracuse, N.Y., by
    the Rev. David R. Jones.
    Their honor attendants were
    Mrs. Oscar R. Clayton, who will
    arrive from Syracuse to attend
    the party, and the late Dr. Clayton.
    Mr. and Mrs. Arenz have been
    lifelong residents of the Tonawandas
    except for two short periods
    when they lived in Newark,
    N.J. and Harbor Springs, Mich.
    Mr. Arenz was a shipbuilder
    during World War I, interior decorator
    in Harbor Springs, employe
    of Roy Arenz Motors in
    North Tonawanda, and upon retirement
    in 1959, had worked
    many years in the service sales
    department of Twin City Auto
    Co., Buffalo.
    Mrs. Arenz is an accomplished
    organist and was organist-choir
    director of the Broad Street Baptist
    Church many years.
    They take great pride in their
    home, which is over 100 years
    old and have done all the remodeling
    work inside.
    Great enthusiasts of water,
    they do much boating on the Niagara
    River and Erie Canal in
    a cruiser.
    Mr. Arenz has made dozens
    of beautiful needlepoint articles,
    "while watching television in the
    winter," including five organ

    bench covers. Mrs. Arenz knits
    for her family.
    Each year, they travel to
    Connecticut to visit David and
    his family in Milford. They also
    have taken tripe to Florida, California
    and Oregon.
    Walter resides in Kenmore.
    They also have two grandchildren,
    David Arenz and Kathleen
    Ciesielski, and one great-granddaughter,
    Lynn Marie Ciesielski.

    Louis C. Arenz, 88, of 61 Highland
    avenue, former alderman and
    well known painting contractor of
    Tonawanda many years, died this
    morning at 237 Linwood avenue,
    Buffalo, this morning.
    Mr. Arenz was born in the town
    of Amherst and has lived in the
    city of Tonawanda the past 54
    years. He is survived by a daughter,
    Mrs. William Thuersam of
    Tonawanda; five sons, Walter of
    the town of Amherst, LeRoy of
    North Tonawanda, Elmer, Ervin
    and Howard of Tonawanda; five
    grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
    Funeral services wfll be held
    Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Hamp
    Funeral Home, 37 Adam street.
    The Rev. Walter F. Hetzel will
    officiate and interment will be in
    Elmlawn.

    Christian Lindemann, 78, died
    this morning at his home, 72 Highland
    avenue, after a lingering illness.
    Born in Shawnee, he had
    resided in Tonawanda the past
    53 years. He was a member of
    Lumber City Tent, K.O.T.M., and
    Broad Street Baptist church. Surviving
    are his wife, Christene;
    a daughter, Mrs. Howard J. Arenz;
    a son, Raymond W. Lindemann; a
    sister, Mrs. Helen Beyer; two
    grandsons, Walter and David
    Arenz, and a great granddaughter,
    Kathleen Marie Arenz. Rites will
    be conducted Wednesday afternoon
    at 2:30 o'clock from the residence.
    The Rev. Norman G.
    Crawford will officiate. Burial
    will be in Elmlawn.

    a lingering illness. She was one of
    the oldest residents of the Tonawandas.

    one daughter, Mrs. Howard J.

    Lindemann; four grandchildren,
