    Carrie Treadwell, entered Into rest at
    the home of his daughter Monday,
    Dec. 10th, 1962. Father of Mrs. Andrew
    (Lucille) McKnlght of Newfane
    and Elwood F. Treadwell, Niagara
    Falls. Also survived by 5_grandchlldren
    and 5 great-grandchild r e n.
    Friends may call at their convenience
    at the Rutland-Corwln Funeral Home,
    Inc., 2670 Main St. where the family
    will be present this evening at 7 and
    Wednesday 3-5 and 7-9. Funeral servlees
    will be held from the funeral
    home Thursday, Dec. 13, 1962 at 2
    p.m. Interment will be In Cold Spring
    Cemetery, Lockport.

    Fred B. Treadwell, father of
    15th Ward supervisor Elwood
    F. Treadwell, died Monday
    (Dec. 10, 1962) at the home of
    a daughter, Mrs. Andrew Mc-
    Knight, in Newfane.
    Mr. Treadwell was 94 and in
    I960 voted for his 17th time in
    p r e s i d e n t i a l elections.
    Throughout his adult life, Mr.
    Treadwell missed voting only
    once, when he changed residence.
    The younger Mr. Treadwell,
    county supervisor for his ward
    and a . Niagara Falls . area
    homebuilder, was called back
    from Chicago where he had
    gone to attend a homebuilders'
    convention and exposition
    as a national director representing
    the.; Niagara Falls
    Homebuilders Association. He
    had just,left his plane when
    Chicago airfield authorities
    notified him of .bis father's
    death and informed, him that
    arrangements for a return
    flight were completed.
    His wife, Mrs. Treadwell,
    was called back from the Buffalo
    Airport where she had
    gone-to emplane for Newark,
    N.J., to visit a daughter.
    Cambria Native
    The elder Mr., Treadwell, a
    former homebuilder, was born
    in, the .Town of.Cam'bria and
    was the son of a pioneer family
    settling in Niagara County
    before the War of 1812. The
    Treadwell. homestead is located
    in Slayton Settlement
    Road,1 northeast of Lockport.
    : From 1921 to 1926 Mr.
    Treadwell. worked with his
    brother, the late Ernie Coff,
    as a homebuilder in Lockport.
    He moved to Newfane in 1926
    where he farmed until his
    retirement in 1945.
    Mr. Treadwell was married
    to the former Connie L. Brick
    who died in 1949. The couple
    celebrated their golden wedding
    anniversary in 1947.
    Church Worker
    Following his wife's ,de*th,
    the elder Mr. Treadwell divided
    his time between his daughter's
    home in Newfane and the
    home of his son, Elwood
    Treadwell, in this city.
    The elder Mr. Treadwell and
    his wife were devoted church
    workers. Mr. Treadwell was a
    deacon and Sunday school
    superintendent in the Cambria
    Congregational Church. He
    also was active in the Emanuel
    Methodist Church in
    Lockport, and the Methodist
    Church in Newfane.
    Avid Gardener
    During his retirement years,
    Mr. Treadwell took a keen
    interest in home gardening
    and kept the yards and gardens
    of his son's and daughter's
    homes in trim condition.
    In addition to his son and
    daughter, Mr. Treadwell is
    survived by five grandchildren
    and five great-grandchildren.
    Friends may call from 3
    p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to
    9 p.m. at the. Rutland-Corwin
    Funeral Home, Newfane,
    where services will be conducted
    at 2 p.m. Thursday by
    Rev. Richard Closson of the
    Newfane Methodist Church.
    Burial will be in Cold Springs
    Cemetery, Lockport.

    Fred married BRICK, Carrie L on 4 Mar 1896 in Town of Cambria, Niagara County, NY. Carrie (daughter of BRICK, Adam and KOON, Helena) was born in Mar 1873 in New York; died on 20 Jan 1949 in Town of Newfane, Niagara County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Mr. and Mrs. Andrew McKnlgbt
    and Mr. and Mrs. Klwood Treadwell
    will entertain near relatives in
    honor of their parents, Mr. and
    Mrs. Fred B. Treadwell In celebration
    of their 50th wedding anniversary
    Sunday afternoon from 3
    to 6 o'clock at their home, 48
    North Main St.. Newfane.
    The marriage of the couple was
    solemnized March 4, 18M at the
    home of the bride's parents, Mr.
    and Mrs. Adam Brick, Cambria
    Center, the Rev. L. L. Rogers performing
    the ceremony. Mr. Treadwell'*
    parents. Mr. and Mrs. Bar
    num Treadwell, were also of Cam
    oris.
    The couple lived most of their
    married life In Cambria, recently
    moving to Newfane. They have always
    been active In church work
    and are now members of the Methodist
    Church In Newfane. They
    have five grandchildren.
