He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Laymen's League of the Church, Gratwick Hose Co. No. 6, Frontier Fire Co. and the Firemen's Benevolent Association. He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret Farpahl, daughter, Mrs. Joyce Mosher of this city; three sons, Glenn F. of Connecticut, James C. of Germany and Jerome A. Weyers of this city; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Weyers, this city, and nine grandchildren. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and until noon Friday at the Fretthold Funeral Home. Services will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church at 1:30 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Clarence Rabe officiating. Burial will be in St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery

    WEYERS - Otto Weyers, 94, of North Tonawanda, Saturday (Jan. 25, 1975) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Weyers was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, and a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Augusta (nee Proefrock) Weyers; three grandsons, Glen and Jerome Weyers of the Tonawandas and James Weyers of Kentucky; a granddaughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Joyce) Whipple of North Tonawanda; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Margaret Weyers of North Tonawanda, many nieces and nephews, father of the late Albert and Clarence Weyers. Services were held this afternoon in St. Mark Lutheran Church at 2 p.m.,the Rev. Thomas K. Spahn officiated. Interment was held in St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements by the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc.

    MRS. WILHELMINA ACHTERBERG
    Mrs. Wilhelmina Achterberg, 84 years old, a resident of the town of Wheatfield for the last 66 years, died last night in the Niagara county infirmary. She was bom in Germany, coming to America at the age of 14 and located in the town of Wheatfield. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gust Klein, North Tonawanda, and Mrs Otto Greinert, St. Johnsburg; two sons, William and Otto Weyer, North Tonawanda; 18 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock, daylight saving time, from the Greinert residence and half an hour later from the St. John's church. Rev. Walter Thiemecke will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery.

    Man Struck By Train, Killed
    NORTH TONAWANDA, July 8.-Believed to have been struck by a southbound passenger train of the New York Central railroad's Niagara Falls branch at the Washington street crossing, the lifeless body of Christian Proeforck (sic), 74 years old, of 44 Stenzil (sic) street, was found this afternoon in a ditch beside the railroad track. The body was badly mangled and was ordered removed to Ramp's funeral home, in Adams street, by Coroner Jacob Helwig, who investigated the accident. He said that there were indications that the man was struck on the crossing and had been dead about an hour. It was learned that there is a southbound train which passes over the New York Central tracks at that point at about noon and authorities believe that this train struck the man, its crew unaware of the accident. He is survived by his wife, Wilhelmina Proeforck (sic); five sons, John, of Tonawanda, August, of St. Johnsburg, and Edward, William and George, of North Tonawanda; three daughters, Mrs. Philip Witkopf and Mrs. Rudolph Blank, of Walmore, Mrs. Arnold Weyers, of North Tonawanda; one brother, August, of North Tonawanda, and one sister, Mrs. Gustave Schendel, of Nashville. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 3:30 o'clock from the home and 4 o'clock from St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran church. Interment will be in St. Mark's cemetery, Niagara Falls boulevard.
