    NORTH TONAWANDA - Carl A. Zimmerman, age 83, of North Tonawanda, died peacefully June (July) 1st in Hospice care. Born in North Tonawanda, Carl was a retired employee of the North Tonawanda Signal Dept., an Army Veteran, a member of Gratwick Hose VFC, the American Legion Post #264 and a lifelong member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church (East Felton St.). He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ann (nee Kelley) Zimmerman of North Tonawanda; beloved father of JoAnn Brutko and James Zimmerman; loving grandfather of Kristina (Darrell) David and great-grandfather of Sean and Sarina; brother of Glenn and the late Arlene Miller; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd., in North Tonawanda on Saturday, July 3rd between 1-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church on Sunday, beginning at 1 PM. The Rev. Devie Ellis will officiate. Interment will be for family only at Elmlawn Cemetery. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 or St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 64 East Felton, North Tonawanda.

    Miss Ann Kelley, who will become
    the bride of Carl Zimmerman
    on April 23, was guest of
    honor at a variety shower on
    March 22, given by Mrs. Charles
    Zimmerman and Mrs. Eugene Mil-
    ler.
    Games were played and lun
    cheon was served, with covers
    for 28 guests. The table was cen
    tered with a white paper umbrel
    la, flanked by white candles, and
    favors were in the umbrella mo-
    tif.
    The bride-elect was presented
    with a corsage of yellow roses and
    yellow daisies, and received many
    attractive and useful gifts.

    North Tonawanda, died suddenly
    Saturday (May 10, 1958) at De-
    Graff Memorial Hospital. He is
    survived by his wife, Mathilda
    (nee Gardei). Father of Mrs. Eugene
    Miller and Glenwood and
    Carl Zimmerman, all of North
    Tonawanda. Also surviving are
    two grandchildren. He was the
    brother of Mrs. Eliza Schmidt of
    North Tonawanda and Otto Zimmerman
    of Tonawanda. Friends
    may call at Fretthold Funeral

    p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Theodore

    of 81 Ward Road North
    Tonawanda, Tuesday (Nov 25,

    1969) at DeGraff Memorial Hos-
    pital after a lengthy illness.
    Mrs. Zimmerman was a
    member of St. Paul Lutheran
    Church, and the Golden Age
    Club of the Tonawandas. She
    was the wife of the late Charles
    Zimmerman.
    Surviving are a daughter,
    Mrs. Eugene (Arlene) Miller of
    North Tonawanda; two sons,
    Glen C. Zimmerman and Carl
    A. Zimmerman, both of Noth
    Tonawnada; six grandchildren;
    a sister, Mrs. Alma
    Weinheimer.
    Friends may call at the
    Fretthold Funeral Home Inc.,
    1231 Oliver St. at Ward Road,
    where services will be
    conducted at 10 a.m. Friday.
    The family will be in attend-
    ance at the funeral home from 2
    to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Rev.
    Matthew A. Pushkar will
    officiate. Interment in Elm-
    lawn Cemetery. In lieu of

    Mr. and Mrs. Charles Zimmerman of 81 Ward road celebrated
    their silver wedding anniversary Saturday afternoon
    and evening. Music and dancing were enjoyed by eighty
    guests, including the original bridal party. Mrs. Erna Ganley
    and Mr. Howard Ossman were the attendants.
    The out of town guests were
    Mr. and Mrs. Martin Mielke of
    Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Roy
    Murphy of Auburn, N. Y. and Pvt
    Kenneth Broeker of Camp Chaffee,
    Arkansas.
    The tables were decorated with
    cut flowers and a four tier wedding
    cake.
    Mr. and Mrs. Zimmerman were
    the recipients of many beautiful
    gifts.

    LOCKPORT, Oct 4-Decislon was
    reserved yesterday by County Judge
    William A. Gold In equity term after
    bearing evidence In a dispute among
    North Tonawanda heirs over disposition
    to be made of certain real property
    left by Mrs. Augusta Zimmerman,
    of that city, who died June 17.
    Mrs. Anna A- L. Behner, a daughter,
    who claimed to bold a fourth Interest
    In the property, brought the action,
    hoping to force- a sale of the
    real estate and a distribution of the
    proceeds.
    Her brother, Charles P. Zimmerman,
    executor, bis wife. Matilda Zimmerman,
    another brother, Otto A.
    Zimmerman, bis wife, Elsie Zimmerman,
    and a sister. Mrs. Eliza A. M.
    Schmltt, all opposed the action on the
    ground that Mrs. Behner Is not entitled
    to any part of teh estate.
    The evidence dates back to April
    8 1917. when Charles Zimmerman,
    father of the four children, died intestate.
    Under the law the propertv
    went to the widow and all the children,
    except Mrs. Behner, signed their
    Interests over to the mother. Mrs.
    Behner, then only 17, made a written
    agreement to sign her share over to
    her mother when she became 21
    years old. She failed to do this and
    when her mother died a will was produced
    leaving the estate to the other
    three children.

    August W. Gardei, 73 years old, died yesterday afternoon at his home at No. 79 Ward road after a long illness. Mr. Gardei was born in Germany and had lived in North Tonawanda for the past 36 years. He was employed by the street department of the city for many years. Surviving are a wife, a son, Arnold Gardei; five daughters, Mrs. Christian Engel; Mrs. Jacob Ossmann, Mrs. William Broecker, Mrs. Edward Hardy and Mrs. Charles Zimmerman, all of North Tonawanda, and one sister, mrs. Auguste Mercke of Germany. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the late residence and a half an hour later from St. Paul's church on East Felton St. Rev. August Eberbach officiating. Burial will be in Sweeney Cemetery.
