Marie V. "Grandma" Allen Music Teacher
Marie V. "Grandma" Allen, 84, of Hancock, NY, entered into rest on Monday, August 12, 2002 at Del. Co. Countryside Care Center, Delphi, NY. She was born on February 3,1918 in Niagara Falls, NY, a daughter of Milfred and Elsie (Dempster) Voelker. She was married to Charles Allen, who predeceased her on April 29, 1995. She was a volunteer in reading and music at Hancock Central School and a volunteer at St. Paul's Vacation Bible School. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kevin and Charlene Caramore of Hancock, NY; three grandchildren, Adrienne, David and James; one brother, Roy Voelker of Niagara Falls, NY; one sister, Carroll Cisek of Sanborn, NY; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, Hancock, NY with Father Stephen Morris officiating. Burial will be held Friday, August 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Wheatfield Cemetery, Wheatfield, NY. Memorials contributions may be made to the Hancock Community Education Foundation. Arrangements made by the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock, NY.

A delightful wedding was solemnized
at the Carlton Baptist church,
Carlton. N. Y., when Miss Marie
Elsie Voelker, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Roy Voelker, was united In
marriage to Mr. Charles Allen, .son
of Mr. and Mrs. James Allen, of
"The Bridge." N. Y.
The bride wore a navy blue suit
with white accessolres and a corsage
of gardenias.
Mrs. Paul Shafer was the bride's
only attendant. She was attired in
a beige suit with corsage of yellow
rosebuds.
Mr. Charles Billings, of "The
Bridges," N. Y., was the groom's
only attendant. Mr. Roy Voelker,
Jr., and Mr. Gordon Allen were
ushers.
The Rev. Lewis Brehaut and the
Rev. Robert Howland officiated at
the ceremony. A reception was held
at the bridegroom's home for 50
guests and a reception was held later
in the evening at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. C. Frits, in Carlton,
N. Y.
Before the wedding a variety
shower was given by Mrs. Lawrence
Voelker and a kitchen shower by
Mrs. Paul Shafer and Mrs. Maurice
St. Denny; also, the office girls of
the American Sales Book, of which
Miss Voelker was an employe, gave
a shower at the Imperial hotel.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen are at home
at 712 Ninety-third street.
