    SANBORN -
    Ross D. Johnson of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2014, in Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, NY. He was born in London, Ontario, on May 12, 1923, the son of the late William and Ellen (Pearson) Johnson.
    Mr. Johnson moved to Niagara Falls, NY in 1928 and later to Sanborn in 1934. He graduated from LaSalle High School in 1941 and from Syracuse University in 1952. He served in ARMY Air Corps as a B-24 Bomber Pilot, with the Jolly Rogers, during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Mr. Johnson was a Civil Engineer with Union Carbide which later became Linde for 30 years, before retiring in 1982. He will be remembered as "the go to guy in the Sanborn", where he was actively involved in the Sanborn Fire Company and with the Sanborn Band, the Lions Club, the Sanborn American Legion Post #969, the Sanborn Area Historical Society and Hope United Methodist Church. He also served on the Niagara Wheatfield School Board, the Sanborn-Pekin Library Board of Trustees and as a driver for Tri-Community Ambulance. He enjoyed reading, traveling, sailing and most of all, spending time with his family.
    Mr. John is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Jane (Bradlee) Johnson; one son, Thomas R. (Linda) Johnson of Lewiston; three daughters, Sallie J. (James) Ditzel of Lockport, Carol J. (Robert) Castiglione of Walland, TN and Sue E. (Bruce) Baer of Lewiston; nine grandchildren, Justin (Jennifer), Kara, Jillian (John), Alicia (Kevin), Michelle (Joseph), Chelsey, Andrew, Kevin and Janelle. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Johnson was the brother of the late William G. Johnson, Helen Marquart, Marion Beecher and Dorothy Wager.
    The family will be present on Tuesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM Hope United Methodist Church, 2914 Upper Mountain Road, Sanborn, NY, with the Rev. Matthew Kofhal officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in his name to the Hope United Methodist Church or to the Sanborn Library. Private inurnment with Military Honors in North Ridge Cemetery, Town of Cambria, NY.

    Jane B. Johnson of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.   She was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on April 4, 1929, the daughter of the late Francis H. and Eva [Dean] Bradlee.
    Mrs. Johnson graduated from both LaSalle High School and Keuka College.
    She was employed through the years at  Mt. View Hospital, the office of Rice and Broderick and with
     Niagara Wheatfield School District.
    Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Sanborn Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, Sanborn American Legion,
    Sanborn Area Historical Society and the Farm Museum.
    She enjoyed reading, traveling, knitting and most of all, spending time with her family.
     Mrs. Johnson was the wife of the late Ross D. Johnson, who passed away on August 10, 2014. 
     She is survived by  her children  Sallie J. (James) Ditzel, Carol J. (Robert) Castiglione,
    Sue E. (Bruce) Baer and Thomas R. (Linda) Johnson, ten grandchildren Justin (Jennifer),
    Kara,  Jillian (John), Alicia, Michelle (Joseph), Chelsey, Andrew, Kevin, Janelle (Kevin)
    and Quila, also nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

    Her family will be present on Sunday from 4-7 PM,  at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME
    5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY. 
    Private funeral services will be held at the wishes of her family. 
    Flowers are gratefully declined,  Memorials may be made in her name to the Hope United
    Methodist Church or to the Sanborn Historical Society.

    SANBORN - Francis H. Bradlee,
    64, died unexpectedly Tuesday
    (Sept. 18, 1962) after being
    stricken with a heart attack at
    his home, 5802 West Street. He
    was pronounced dead on arrival
    at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital.
    Mr. Bradlee was born in Lewiston,
    Dec. 13, 1897. son of
    Charles N. and Ella Nichols
    Bradlee. He had lived in Sanborn
    since 1935. He was employed
    by various construction companies
    in the area as an operative
    engineer until his retirement last
    fall.
    Mr. Bradlee was a member of
    the Sanborn Methodist Church,
    Ransomville Lodge 551, F&AM,
    International Union of Operative
    Engineers 463 and an exempt
    member of the Sanborn Volunteer
    Fire Co.
    Survivors include his wife,
    Eva Dean Bradlee; a daughter.
    Mrs. Ross Johnson of Sanborn;
    and four grandchildren.
    Friends may call from 2 to 5
    and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Pike
    and Jones Funeral Home, Inc.,
    Hoover Road, Sanborn, where
    services will be held at 2 p.m.
    Friday. The Rev. W. Donald
    Housser will officiate. Burial will
    be in North Ridge Cemetery.
    Members of the Ransomville
    Masonic Lodge will hold memorial
    services at the funeral home
    at 8 p.m. tomorrow.

    SANBORN. April 16-The marriage
    of Miss Eva M. Dean, daughter of Mr.
    and Mrs, Truman Dean of West St., to
    Francis H. Bradlee of Dlckersonville,
    was solemnized at 1:30 o'clock on Wednesday,
    April 14, 1920, at the home of
    the bride's parents, the Rev. James
    Bartlett of Dlckersonville officiating.
    The bride was becomingly gowned In
    a dress of white georgette over white
    satin and carried a shower bouquet of
    bride roses. A reception followed the
    ceremony and covers were laid for 30
    guests.
    The house was decorated throughout
    with Easter lilies, pink carnations and
    ferns.
    Mrs. Donald Calkins rendered several
    selections upon the piano and also played
    the wedding march.
    Among the out of town guests were
    Mr. and Mrs. John W. Brophy and Mr.
    and Mrs. M. W. Taylor of Niagara
    Falls.
    The bride wore a traveling suit of
    blue with hat to match. After an eastern
    trip Mr. and Mrs Bradlee will be at
    home to their many friends at Dlckersonville,
    N. Y., about May 1.

    Ella J . Bradlee of the Town of Lewiston
    passed away this morning, following
    a lingering illness of several
    weeks. She was confined in Memorial
    hospital at Niagara Falls following
    development of an infection of
    the'hand from a minor injury in her
    home at Dtckersonvllle, Mrs. Brad-
    lee was 67 years of age and was the
    widow of Charles N. Bradlee, a scion
    of one of the pioneer families of Ni
    agara county. Mra Bradlee had
    been in an unconscious state for
    several days,
    She IS survived by four sons.
    Thomas C. ,of Burlington, v t , Char-
    es, Of Buffalo, Ira Harvey of Lew-
    iston and Francis of Niagara falls.
    Howard C. Townsend and Alice M.
    Calvert of this city are relatives
    The funeral Will be held at the late

    Mrs, Ella J. Bradlee, of the Ridge
    'Old, Lewlston, widow of Charles N.
    Bradlee, died at the Memorial hospital
    today. Death was due to an
    Infection In the right band and arm.

    the family home on Thursday afternoon
    at 2 o'clock. Interment will be
    in North Ridge cemetery.
    Mrs. Bradlee was born In the. town
    of Lewlston on August 9, I860, and
    lias been a life long resident of that
    town having lived on the same farm
