    BUFFALO — Jerry Rutland, of Olcott, NY, husband of Ruth Bruning Rutland, entered into rest Friday, July 30, 2010, in Buffalo General Hospital. He was born in Wilson, NY, October 15, 1932, the son of the late Richard L. and Onalee Mahl Rutland. A Navy Veteran who served his country from 1952-1956 and served on the USS Rochester. Jerry worked for Lockport Memorial Hospital as Asst. Administrator for many years, then was a negotiator for Superintendent Association of New York State. He had lived most of his life in Olcott. Jerry was one of Olcott’s most ardent YANKEES’ fan. Life member of Olcott Fire Company. Charter member of Olcott Lions Club and received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award. Jerry was a member of the American Legion Post in Little Valley, NY where he enjoyed many years of deer hunting. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

    Father of Deborah E. Rutland of St. Petersburg, FL, Denise M. (John) Barnett of Ocoee, FL, Cindy R. (Nelson Jex) Farina and William C. (Tammy) Rutland, both of Lockport, NY. Cherished Bompa of Lisa and Glen Butler, Jerad Riddle, John and Brian Barnett, Nicolette and Kyle Rutland and Matthew Farina. Brother of Cleo Semple of Boston, MA and the late Richard C. Rutland, Kenneth Rutland and William Rutland. Also survived by two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

    Friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY, MONDAY 7-9 PM and TUESDAY 2-4 & 7-9 PM, where funeral services will be held WEDNESDAY at 11:00 AM.     Ruth I. Rutland of Lockport, NY, formerly of Olcott Beach, NY, wife of the late Jerry Rutland, entered into rest Friday, December 5, 2014 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport, NY.

    She was born in Olcott, NY, January 2, 1937, the daughter of the late Hubert and Edith Luks Bruning.

    Ruth was a graduate of Millard Fillmore School of Nursing, class of 1957. She was a Registered Nurse and worked for various facilities and retired from Planned Parenthood Health Care Center in Lockport, NY.

    Ruth moved from Olcott Beach to Lockport in 2010. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling and spending time with her family.

    Loving mother of Denise (John) Barnett, Deborah Rutland, all of FL, Cindy (Nelson Jex) Farina and William (Tammy) Rutland, all of Lockport. Grandmother of Lisa, Glen, John, Brian, Jerad, Matthew, Nicole and Kyle. Sister of Norma (Don) Ramsdell of FL and the late Margaret Smith. Sister-in-law of James Smith of Florida and Cleo Semple of MA. Also survived by two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

    Friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY, on TUESDAY 4-8 PM, where a memorial service will be held at 8:00 PM.     given by Miss Grace Rutland of North
    Maln street Saturday evening. Cards
    were played, first ladies' prize going
    to Mrs. George Mills and men's to
    Richard Rutland while Thomas Buckl-
    e y received the consolation award.
    Following the games, supper was served,
    the color scheme being green and silver.

    LOCKPORT. Feb. 22.-The funeral
    of Hubert Bruning. 27 years old, of
    the West Lake road, Olcott,, who was
    Injured fatally Saturday night when
    his automobile was hit by a Lockport-
    Olcott trolley car at Corwln crossing,
    six miles north of the city, will be held
    tomorrow afternoon at the home at
    2:30 o'clock with the Rev. Herman
    Meier, of Lockport. officiating. Interment
    will be at West Shelby.
    Bruning. who was employed at the
    Simonds Saw and Steel company plant
    In this city, was driving home on the
    Lockport-Oleott road at the time of
    the accident. An International Railway
    company trolley car. operated by
    Morris Butler, of 309 Church street.
    Lockport. was en route from Olcott
    to this city.
    The trolley hit the automobile and
    carried It about 25 feet, according to
    Sheriff Fred A. Blgalow. The automobile
    was wrecked and the trolley
    was crippled by the crash. Bruning
    died of head injuries en route to the
    City hospital here in an automobile
    of Leonard Case of Olcott. Dr. Frank
    T Carmer, coroner, of Newfane, is
    investigating and will hold an inquest
    the date of which has not been set.
    Bruning was born in the Town of
    Royalton where he lived mast of his
    life. He leaves his widow. Edith, three
    children, Margaret. Norma and Ruth,
    at home: his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
    Frank Bruning, of Wolcottsvllle: two
    brothers and one sister. Franklin
    Brunlng of Olcott. Alvin Bruning, of
    Wolcottsvllle, and Minnie Brunlng of
    Buffalo.

    The marriage of Miss Edith Luks,
    daughter of Mrs. Leo Luks to Hubert
    Bruning of Middleport was
    solemnized on Saturday afternoon,
    June 18, at 4 o'clock in the Trinity
    Lutheran church with Rev. Herman
    Meier officiating. The altar was
    banked with palms, ferns and
    white peouies.
    The bride gtven In marriage by
    her brother, was gowned in white
    satin while her ell of illusion was
    arranged in cape effect and fashioned
    at either side with orange
    blossoms. She carried a shower
    bouquet of white roses.
    The bridegroom's sister, Miss
    Minnie Bruning, was maid of honor
    and wore a gown of pink embrotd- '
    ered net, matching picture hat of
    horse hair braid, long mits and
    carried a bouquet of pink roses and
    gypsophila. Mrs. Viola Luks of Buffalo
    was matron of honor and wore
    a gown of peacn embroidered net,
    matching picture hat of horse hair
    braid, long mitts and carried a bouquet
    of Joanna Hill roses and gypsophila.
    Edith Luks, niece of the
    bride was flower girl, wearing a
    dainty frock of yellow silk. She carried
    a tiny basket filled with garden
    flowers.
    Arthur Klinestlver was best man
    and Franklin Bruning acted as attendant.
    The ushers were Norman
    Lindke and William Mlnkline.
    Immediately following the ceremony,
    a reception for about fifty
    guests was held at the bride's home.
    The bride's table was laid for twelve
    and was centered with a large wedding
    cake and gift bouquets of
    flowers were artistically arranged
    throughout the rooms.
    Upon returning from a trip
    through the East, Mr. and Mrs.
    Bruning will take up residence on
    the Murphy road, Lockport. Guests
    were present from Buffalo, Middle -
    port, Albion and other nearby towns.
    Among those giving pre-nuptlal
    affairs for the bride were Miss Minnie
    Bruning and Mrs. Viola Luks.

    suddenly Friday (July 20,
    1962) at Inter-Community
    Memorial Hospital.
    He was a farmer for the
    last 28 years. Prior to that he
    was employed at the Palmer
    Lumber Co., Tonawanda. For
    several years Mr. Rutland
    was a member of Newfane
    Lodge No. 392, IOOF and the
    Farm Bureau and was a onetime
    chairman of the Board
    of Elections in Wilson.
    Survivors include his widow
    J. Hazel Rutland, four daughters,
    Mrs. William (Dorothy)
    Lawrence, Snyder; Mrs. Arthur
    (Eugenia) Albright, Newfane;
    Mrs. Edwin (Claire)
    Ponthier, East Aurora; and
    Mrs. Joseph (Louise) Ponthier,
    Orchard Park; two sons
    Clifton J. Rutland, Buffalo,
    and Richard L. Rutland, Olcott;
    and two step-sons, Samuel
    McCoy, Wilson, and Clifford
    McCoy. Olcott. Also 25
    grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren.
    The Odd Fellows will hold
    a memorial .service at the
    Corwin Funeral Home at 9
    p.m. Sunday. Funeral services
    will be held at 2 p.m. Monday
    with Rev. Ernest Kerrison,
    Wilson Methodist Church,
    officiating.
    Friends may call at the fu-
    neral home from 2 to 5 and
    7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in

    Ruthland, wife of Robert J. Rutland,
    died late yesterday afternoon at the
    family home in Lincoln Court. Funeral
    services will be held from thc home
    en Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock standard
    time with interment in Corwin
    cemetery.
    Mrs. Ruthland had lived in this vicinity

    all her life and was one of the
    most respected members of the com-
    munity. While she had been in poor
    health for some time her death was
    rather sudden and a great shock to a
    host of friends.
    Besides her husband she is survived

    by four daughters and two sons. Mrs.
    Leigh Bradley, of Kenmore, Clifton,
    of Buffalo. Eugenia. Claire and Louise,
    at home, and Richard, of Newfane.

    for Mrs. Estella R. Mahl will be
    held at the Corwin Funeral home at
    2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev.
    Daniel Place, of the Methodist

    Mrs. Mahl died suddenly at her

    home. 57 -North Main street, yesterday
    although she had been in
    failing health for the last four years.
    She was a daughter of the late
    George and Augusua Spitzer Davis.
    She was born in Buffalo but had
    lived here for 45 years.
    For 30 years she was a telephone
    operator here. She was a member of
    Cheer Rebekah lodge, the Metho-
    dist church and a former active
    member of the Auxiliary of Miller
    Hose company.
    She is survived by her husband,
